Precious Daughter of the Greatest Martial Arts Villain
Chapter 5
It had been almost half a year since I’d last seen Ak Wuryeon.
Wow, I’ve been tormented by Bing Eunseol for so long that I’m even happy to see the boy who is going to kill me in the future!
I smiled brightly and reached out my hand. I was holding the flower I had just picked.
“Goo goo!”
“What is this?”
Hey, you kid. You need to work on that tone of yours. You’re barely six. You don’t have to talk so stiffly, you know?
I was a bit envious at the same time though. Would there ever come a day when I could talk well like him?
“Fower! Fower!”
“Is that... for me?”
“Mm! Mm!”
Instead of taking the flower from me, he gave me a strange look.
“So you... can understand me?”
I gasped. That was a mistake!
I must have unknowingly gotten complacent once I was out of Bing Eunseol’s sight.
“But you’re only a year old...”
Oh, look! A butterfly!
I pretended to get distracted by the butterfly as I started sucking my thumb. The bitter taste of the grass made it easy for me to drool saliva.
Th-this should be enough to make me look dumb, right?
“Hm...”
Ak Wuryeon’s eyes narrowed slightly.
I avoided his suspicious gaze as I did my best to keep up the ruse of playing dumb.
“Look, a bug.”
“Aah!”
I jumped up like a spring. I was typically cool with most things, but bugs were a big no-no.
“Oh, you can stand too? But I heard that you were still crawling around.”
Erm, would you believe me if I told you that this was a superhuman act that only occurs during times of crisis?
I relaxed the tension in my legs and wobbled around before plopping down, trying to make it look as natural as possible.
In a situation like this, I knew I had to keep up the act even if things looked dire. I laughed like an idiot and tucked the flower behind my ear, but he wasn’t fooled.
“So you aren’t dumb.”
You’re wrong! I am dumb! I am! What do I need to do to make you believe me? Do I have to poop right here?
My heart raced madly. Was he going to blow my cover and go around telling people I was a genius?
There was no way Bing Eunseol was not going to come after me once she found out.
I began to ignore him entirely and focused on picking flowers.
Go away. Please, go away. Aren’t you busy? You should be busy training, shouldn’t you?
He normally made it very clear that he couldn’t stand to be around me, so what had changed today? I was in the middle of massacring flowers when Ak Wuryeon suddenly grabbed my hand.
“Wait!”
Damn it! He’d startled me so much that I almost shouted that out loud. I had to be more careful.
“Miss, let me take a look at your hand.”
He looked at my nails with a serious look on his face.
Instead of the healthy rosy pink color that babies should have, my nails were white.
Ever since Bing Eunseol had started tormenting me, my nail color had slowly begun to change, but I’d brushed it off since I didn’t feel particularly bad.
Besides, it wasn’t like anyone was going to treat me if I were sick anyway.
“This is—”
After looking at my nails, he grabbed my wrist.
“Hhhhf...”
A warm energy slowly seeped into my body, as if I had sat down to soak in a hot spring. The warmth melted away the stiffness in my frozen body.
It felt warm.
I must have been drawn to the source of warmth unconsciously because once I woke up, I found myself clutching a fistful of Ak Wuryeon’s clothes and rubbing my face on his chest.
As a result, I had drooled all over his clothes.
I gasped, belatedly realizing this embarrassing situation, and froze.
I felt like a deer in headlights, unable to move. It would be weird to let go, but at the same time, it would be just as weird to stay in his arms like this.
Thankfully, Ak Wuryeon roughly pushed me away.
I fell down with an ugly squeal. “Urgh!”
“Ah...” Ak Wuryeon flinched, as if he had done that involuntarily.
Don’t worry. That didn’t hurt at all. I landed in a flowerbed.
“Miss...? Huh? Miss!”
Seoryeong must have heard me cry out because she rushed back to me in a panic and picked me up.
“Miss! Are you okay? You’re not hurt anywhere, are you?”
She fixed my hair, dusted off my dirty clothes, and checked me for injuries before finally turning toward Ak Wuryeon and bowing.
It was her own way of showing a little defiance.
“Greetings to the Vice Sect Leader, who is the future of the Demonic Sect.”
“You. I want you to hold out your wrist.”
“What?”
“Hold out your wrist.”
In this world, you could determine someone’s internal qi level by letting your internal power flow into them.
You could also use your internal power to kill that person.
By letting someone grab your wrist, you were baring your internal power and putting your life in the palm of their hand.
Being asked for your wrist wrist was a very unpleasant demand coming from anyone but your master.
However, Ak Wuryeon was the Vice Sect Leader, and Seoryeong was just a nanny. Though she hesitated, she eventually held out her wrist.
“Here, sir...”
He immediately grabbed her hand and closed his eyes in concentration.
After a moment, he let go.
“Her ladyship visits Miss Lihwa often, doesn’t she?”
“Yes, that is correct.”
“I heard her ice skill has improved a lot recently.”
“That isn’t something I can determine at my skill level.”
“Is that so?”
He must have figured it out! I wasn’t sure how, but this uncanny guy had caught on. He wasn’t going to go blabbing to Cheon Ma, was he?
Cheon Ma wouldn’t even bother, and even if he did, he wouldn’t punish the daughter of the North Sea Lord.
He’d probably just turn a blind eye when Bing Eunseol eventually came and finished the job by actually killing me.
That’s why you can’t act like you know! I’m fine, so don’t get involved! Just hate me like you did in the novel.
Ak Wuryeon quietly stared at me.
What did he expect to see? His black pupils roamed over my face without even blinking.
Refusing to give an inch, I maintained my stupid expression.
As I contemplated crossing my eyes, Ak Wuryeon approached me.
“Can I hold the young miss for a moment?”
“Yes, sir.”
He easily lifted me into his arms, and then for a little bit, he pretended to comfort me like he would an actual baby before whispering in my ear.
“Poor little miss.” He paused before continuing. “Welcome to hell.”
Hah, you crazy bastard.
Of course, it was true that I wanted him to keep his mouth shut, but that didn’t mean he could enjoy my suffering.
Did he want me to have a hard time because he was going through a hard time too?!
You’re a jerk. I’m going to teach you a lesson.
“Hyah! Baa!”
I grabbed both his cheeks to give him a headbutt.
At least, that was what I attempted to do, so why were our lips touching?
My slobber-drenched lips pressed against his before separating.
Muah!
With a cheerful sound, a string of saliva stretched between our lips.
His arms loosened around me as he stood frozen like a statue.
“Ah! Miss!”
Seoryeong swiftly caught me before I hit the ground.
Ak Wuryeon glared at my lips as he vigorously wiped his own with the back of a hand. A chilly wind blew as he firmly turned his back on me. He seemed really pissed off.
Hey, I know this is a little too late, but... I was actually trying to headbutt you, not give you a smacker on the lips!
I mean, it’s true that I thought your lips were gorgeous, but it was just a thought! I wasn’t actually trying to kiss—
I gasped.
I suddenly remembered what made Ak Wuryeon decide to kill Cheon Lihwa so brutally.
In the original novel, she was in love with him, but her love was unrequited. Wuryeon, naturally, rejected her advances because she was the daughter of his parents’ enemy. Unable to accept his rejection, she did terrible things, like attempting to drug him.
Since the book was rated for all ages, there weren’t specific details, but it was clear that he had a severe aversion to women. But even then, Cheon Lihwa never stole Ak Wuryeon’s first kiss at the age of one!
I was so screwed.
Of course, I didn’t think it was a real kiss. If anything, it was just an accident.
Would he see it the same way though? Considering how red his ears got, the likelihood of that was really low.
I wondered how much my lifespan had shortened after today. Given the look on his face, I must have moved up the timeline of my death by at least three years...
Now I had no choice. I had to start training to walk immediately. It wasn’t like there was a law that said a fool couldn’t walk, after all.
From that day on, I gave up crawling around and began practicing walking in earnest.
The servants began to complain openly because I caused little accidents here and there while starting to walk, but that didn’t deter me from doing what I needed to do.
Also, Ak Wuryeon didn’t tell anyone that I was being abused and that I wasn’t slow.
