Chapter 4
‘Or not’ was Jihee’s motto for dating. Enjoy if you wanna enjoy, date if you wanna date, have sex if you wanna have sex!
Or not.
This way it kept the pressure off the person she was seeing. In other words, it was a kind of method - or magic - to guard her own self-respect.
You could say that what she really meant by that was ‘It doesn’t have to be you. I could get plenty more where you came from.’
She had to have this kind of attitude in order to play at Seo Kang’s level.
“Do you go around asking that all the time? Do you wanna sleep with me? Or not.”
“Only because it’s Seo Kang. You’re the biggest superstar there is.”
There it was. That was the last piece hidden in the Russian doll. All the layers had been peeled away to reveal the truth within.
Not one woman, ever, had told him she wanted to sleep with him because he was ‘the biggest superstar there is.’ No woman had ever dared reveal the truth to him.
On the other hand, this woman didn’t know how to stop.
“I’m fully aware of my ‘level.’ You most likely have no interest in a relationship, yet you’re coming onto me... and that most likely means you want sex. I don’t have the time and energy to joke around or play hard to get. Let’s just get to the point... because that’s the most efficient.”
Smirk. Seo Kang kept smirking and laughing for reasons unclear to Jihee. She just couldn’t pinpoint why.
“I like it. Straight to the point. Would you say that’s coming from confidence? Or... pride?”
“Neither pride, nor confidence. I’d say it’s just... honesty. It’s what goes on in the minds of all the women who want to sleep with you. ‘Oh, if only I could sleep with this sexy and handsome movie star, just once.’ Is it any different for me? Nope. That’s exactly what I’m thinking, too.”
Women had come on to Seo Kang, not because they wanted to get to know Seo Kang as a man, but because they wanted to experience Seo Kang’s masculinity. Sometimes they’d play hard to get, sometimes they would throw themselves at him. The methods were diverse, but the objective was the same.
But the reason this particular woman stood out from the rest was that she admitted her objective loud and clear, in complete ‘honesty,’ as she said.
“Did you never learn how to be coy?”
She suddenly felt a casualness in his tone. He had stopped speaking in honorifics.
“Well, since this is a private conversation and you just dropped your honorifics, I’ll drop mine too. Did I never learn how to be coy? Trust me, you have no idea. I only use it when I need to.”
It had been a while since a woman dropped her honorifics so fast with him, too. Yoo Jihee... you’re something else, aren’t you?
“So, you don’t need it now? Hm... But I like it when women have a little mystery. You’re so straightforward...”
“So, you don’t like it because I’m straightforward?”
“Are you going to walk away if I don’t like it?”
“You want me to cling onto your pant legs and beg you not to go?”
Seeing this woman get on her knees and hang onto me would be quite a sight.
“I’m curious why you don’t feel the need to just flirt with me a little.”
“Flirting is for when you’re actually looking to be in a relationship. When you want to sleep with someone, you seduce.”
“So, you’re seducing me? I don’t think I’ve been seduced quite yet.”
“Wanna kiss?”
Ah. Yoo Jihee. What in the world are you? You ask me if I want to have sex, and now you’re asking me to kiss you - is this your wild way of seducing men?
Jihee tapped on the script in front of her as she spoke her next words.
“I know this isn’t the reason you called me over. It’s because you’re interested in me, right?”
Jihee pinpointed exactly what she felt from Seo Kang. So what if it wasn’t because he was interested? She’d feel embarrassed and turn red in the face for a moment, then that would be the end of it. If she had the guts to make a move on Seo Kang, she could do anything.
Seo Kang’s gaze became even deeper with intrigue, full of anticipation.
“My interest is turning into excitement.”
His warm voice, deep gaze, everything about him sent vibrations through the air surrounding them, shaking Jihee to her core and making her nervous.
“Excited? I’m... aroused.”
She had no intention of hiding her nerves. ‘Aroused,’ she said.
She saw a slight crinkle in one of his eyebrows. Was it surprise? Was it alarm? Whatever it was, crinkling wasn’t a good sign. And that applied to paper, clothes, faces... and eyebrows.
“Miss Yoo Jihee... this doesn’t sound like your first rodeo. I’m sure I’m just another one of many...”
“Are you not up for it? If you’re not, just pass. Don’t think about it too hard. All I can say is, I’ve just mustered up all the courage I can to say what I just said to the biggest, most charming, and most wanted actor in this country...”
There’s that sexy smirk again. The way Seo Kang’s lips curl up just... makes me wanna eat them up.
But that’s as far as I’ll go. I won’t allow myself to fall for him any further.
No man got free pass to Jihee’s heart. She didn’t open herself up easily anymore. Only those granted a visa were allowed to step foot on her soil.
If Seo Kang’s superpower was seeing through people, then her talents lay in the ability to change a person’s mind. She knew how to change a person’s mind to her advantage. Be it love, be it a man, it was easy as 1-2-3.
She had relationships with the men she wanted to have relationships with, and she had casual fun with the men she wanted casual fun with.
With those she was serious with, she could become the sweetest, most endearing woman, while with those she wanted to be casual with, she knew how to turn on the heat and show the boys how to play.
But Seo Kang felt like an outlier. An unexpected variable in her otherwise perfect algorithm.
He wasn’t in either the relationship or fling category - she had placed him in the one-night stand category. And he was definitely someone she couldn’t go any further than a one-night stand with.
Seo Kang was the object of every woman’s fantasies. Which was exactly why Jihee craved a one-night stand.
She craved everything about him, his smell, his gaze, his movements, facial expressions...all of it.
But Jihee could tell by his manner that those tabloids talking about his activities with women must have been true. He knew women.
It was tiring to be with a man who could see right through you.
Forget trying to have the upper hand - if you were sloppy for a second, you’d wake up and find yourself trapped in the palm of his hand.
Even now, she couldn’t read his facial expressions at all. What exactly was going on his head?
Trying to read Jihee’s face was like trying to read Hebrew to Seo Kang. It was impossible to translate. Whatever her motive was, one thing was for sure: she desperately wanted to spend the night with him.
Her shiny hair hung right above her shoulders and brushed against her delicate face. The way her eyes were slightly angled up at the tips - probably because of her eyeliner - was adorable. Below her small, pointed nose were her rosy lips, slightly open, as if to invite him in.
The whites of her front teeth were peeking out from between her lips, making them feel even more sensual.
But above anything else, her smile was what really drew him in. Her crescent moon-shaped eyes which she herself bragged about, her straight teeth, and that great smile.
Seo Kang had seen enough beautiful women to the point where it was sickening. At the broadcast stations, on set, wherever he went, the most beautiful women in the country would stick to him like magnets. It was to the point where wherever he stepped foot, he would get trampled by the stampede running towards him.
But women that could trigger a man’s animal instinct were rare. Like now. Like their little accident that occurred not too long ago. Was he experiencing symptoms from that?
“Miss Yoo Jihee... you’re brutally honest. Want to know the truth? You’ve stimulated me with our little fender bender.”
That ridiculous accident where she planted her face into his private area.
Jihee had to try really hard not to turn red in the face when thinking about it. It’s not a big deal, Jihee. It really isn’t.
But with Seo Kang’s next words, she couldn’t stop the blood from rushing to her face again.
“That wasn’t one of your tricks, was it?”
What? A trick? You mean, on purpose? So, he thinks I’m some cheap girl who uses dirty tricks to get men to sleep with her?
Wait... that was just her prejudice and stereotypes talking. If you shifted the perspective just a bit, wouldn’t that be a creative and novel thing to say? You could, in fact, save it to use yourself one day.
“So what if it was a trick?”
Swoosh.
Woop-
Seo Kang grabbed Jihee’s wrist and pulled her out of her chair, and their bodies almost bumped into each other from the force. But it was their lips that bumped into each other instead.
Seo Kang latched his lips onto hers.
So he’s tough, too? I think I like him even more.
“Ohh-”
His wet lips moved against hers.
He rested her hand that he pulled onto his chest, and with the other hand he grabbed onto the back of her hair. Jihee was trapped. And she loved it.
Haa...
Is this a dream?
Right now, I am kissing Seo Kang, the actor, the most desirable man all women dream of?
I’m kissing the man from the silver screen.
Out of all the movies and actors I’ve seen, Seo Kang was the only actor that I ever actually dreamed of kissing, should the heavens ever allow. But this... this is real.
Just as she had seen in the movies, Seo Kang’s kiss was sticky, sensual... and erotic. Just the way she liked it.
Seo Kang sucked and licked her lips with his tongue. He was stimulating but not rushed.
This guy is really good. He is a player at a level that is above and beyond.
Jihee kept her lips slightly open and kept her reactions subtle. She just wanted to feel everything. She needed to feel from every tiny nerve that was being stimulated with his lips.
The way he rubbed his tongue against her lip from top to bottom was electrifying. Then when his tongue entered her mouth, it was dizzying.
“Ahh....”
Slip.
Seo Kang got up from the table and pushed his body right up against hers. This made Jihee’s neck bend at a dangerously sharp angle, but Seo Kang held her head in his right hand to support it.
The dominant energy he exuded made the kiss that much sweeter. It made his lips taste even more delicious.
While his right hand held her in place by his hair, his left hand took a hold of Jihee’s waist to pull her in towards him.
Bump. Her heels bumped into his loafers. Yet another minor collision had brought their bodies even closer to one another.
But Seo Kang was so big. The end of her chest area barely reached the top of his stomach.
Every touch he made was so electrifying that she felt like she could collapse from the intensity. Both her hands were held out in front of her, almost as if in defense, and they desperately clenched onto his shirt. It was the only thing that stood between them.
She could feel his body through her hands. She didn’t need to see it with her eyes to know what marvels lay underneath his shirt.
But in all seriousness, did he have electricity running through his veins? He was so electrifying that the jitters overwhelmed her entire body.
Oblivious to what was going on in Jihee’s head, Seo Kang pulled her waist in even harder.
Her two hands, her two lines of defense, were as useless as a ferry boat washed out at sea by a storm. She surrendered to the familiar feeling of a man’s excitement - she could feel it right up against her abdomen.
Oh, he’s healthy alright. There should be no problem for tonight.
Jihee kissed him back passionately. She had fallen into a black hole and there was no way out. If you can’t escape it, enjoy it. She met his tongue fervently with hers and caressed his lush lips.
