She needed to get dinner, or she would go hungry once morning came. Her appetite increased after she became a monster. Although, once daybreak came she would turn back into a human once more. This would give a taste of her former self. Such a bittersweet flavor. From the corner of her eye, she spotted a deer that was hiding behind a tall bush. Frozen in fear from her monstrous appearance she seized her chance. This was a great advantage, not that she needed it of course.
She was quite fast on her clawed feet. She charged at it, and then it finally took notice to flee. The chase began. She weaved in and out through the trees and lunged at her prey. With one swipe of her claws, she rendered the animal unable to run any further. Blood flooded from the wound. It wouldn’t be alive much longer. Now came the time to eat. Ripping apart the flesh was easy. Her fanged mouth devoured every last bit. Even the bones were eaten. This was thanks to her mouth having such acidity that it could slowly melt bones. She had become accustomed to this.
She now even had favorite pieces of flesh and organs she enjoyed and preferred. The liver was fatty and the most delicious in a young deer. At least that was the opinion made by the monster’s taste buds. At an earlier point when this was all new, it would make her feel sick. Stomach churning and nausea would happen at the mere thought of consuming a deer, or any animal alive. The eyes of a poor creature when it knew it was dying struck a chord in her heart. The pain in their eyes used to bring tears to her own. But sadly, it was now second nature to do this. She had become numb to it all.
