Eden’s Pov
They got Tsubaki to a satisfactory condition before leaving him with a maid, a medic and two guards at his front door. Currently, I was in the courtroom sitting right beside my mother as she was addressing Rong’an who stood a few feet away from the table we were at.
“I would like to send a telegram to my empire at once your Majesty. I feel as if my Prince’s condition will only get worse from here on out.” Rong’an continued.
“As I said to you young man, we are not alerting your empire about this issue. Your emperor has enough on his hand giving his power over to the next heir. We can not afford it.” she replied once more.
“Why are you so persistent? My mother gave you a specific order that you can’t seem to follow.” I snapped.
This was going on for the past ten minutes I was getting rather annoyed at his stupid requests. First, he says we need to find someone for him now. What does finding someone for him has to do with him being sick?
“I have a duty to my empire, your Highness. It is not only my job to report things even to the very little details but also to act in a way to protect my emperor,” he replied without looking at me.
“Did you send it before today, you aren’t required to give a report every day are you?” I asked, as a trick question but I guess he said what I was trying to do.
“It always depends, your Highness. If my Prince was alright, then I wouldn’t be asking this question right now. But because we are not in that situation but in one where my Prince is irritably sick then it concerns me.” he answered.
I sighed, that is such a reasonable excuse that it is hard to rebuttal it without sounding unsure or downright dumb- and right now that was the last thing I needed in front of him no less.
“No, I have made my decision and I will not allow you to send anything to your empire until we get this under control. I will not seem like an incompetent ruler because of one single report that comes from an incomplete evaluation of the situation at hand. And that is final.” my mother spoke after a few moments of silence.
“As you wish your majesty, but if the situation were to get worse. In which it will, then I will not only write that my Prince is sick but you prevented me from reporting it earlier. And then it will fall on your empire to fix it.” He said as he started to turn and walk away.
I jumped from my seat, “What do you mean that it will get worse. Tell us this instant.” I yelled.
He stopped at the door and turned smirking at the both of us as his eyes flashed a quick crimson red, “You will see. It won’t be long till you hear screams.”
The doors closed and I listened to the fading footsteps, and when it was no more. I sat back down and a sigh escaped my mouth. I then looked at my mother and stiffened as I sat here staring down at her hands, shivering.
“Mother?” I asked worriedly.
“Something bad is about to happen. I can feel it.” she stuttered.
“Mother, you can't believe him, he is a servant who is a literal walking pawn for his empire. Don’t believe him.” I spoke.
“No son, this is different, something scared me when his eyes flashed red.” she continued.
“And that is?” I started to become frightened of myself.
“Something is going to change for us. I do not know if it will be good or bad, or even both. But I am worried about his statement. I don’t know if it concerns your friend. Or it is towards everyone in this empire, maybe even the world. My Son, you are the only thing I have for this throne, don’t mess it up.” She looked at me sternly.
I tensed a bit since she barely used that look with me, I gulped and slowly answered, “Yes mother.”
Tsubaki’s Pov
Where am I? Why can’t I move? I forced my eyes open and there it was again. The pair of eyes that I saw before- I couldn’t look at it because my body wasn’t responding to me but I saw them from the corner of my right eye. I was floating, that was one thing, another I couldn’t move, and I just realized that I had something running through me. The irony was the one thing I could feel.
‘So that was making me so warm. But that still doesn’t explain the pain in my chest.’
I tried to focus on the blood running through me. It felt different from what I am accustomed to. I then realized, it isn’t and I started to get scared.
‘Wait no what was going on?!’
I started to try and tell my body to move, get up, scream, do anything. But I couldn’t- I couldn’t even blink. I cried as the tears came out but then started floating then fell down my cheeks. So the one thing I can do is such a silent thing that won’t help me a bit. I saw as my tears started to glow- they started to shift towards my right where the eyes were. The eyes closed and everything flashed, I saw a feminine figure with the same eyes that disappeared before. She smiled at me and held my fallen tears in her left arm and extended her right over my chest.
“You have finally opened your soul and blood to me, my loyal servant Tsubaki. You have been chosen to be the new emperor of your kingdom and I will now be bestowing the empire’s royal blood magic to you. But first I must place your body through an immense trail to prepare you to receive it without going rogue. Your body has been numbed for this very reason. Are you ready?” She asked as her hand glowed.
She placed it on my chest and immediately, a large profound pain erupted through my body and for the first time, I could move and what came from my lips was a scream that sounded like bloody murder.
Eden’s Pov
I was just walking back to my suite when I saw a shadow figure walking past my blindspot. And I was going to turn a blind eye and follow my mom’s advice to stay out of the way for the safety of my empire. But then I realized that the figure was going close to a certain area. I slowly walked to the end of the hall and slowly peaked down where the figure went. I looked to see the figure looking at both sides before opening a door- going inside. I stayed a bit and walked to that door- looking through the crack as it wasn’t closed fully. I peeked inside and saw the figure moved through the darkroom- moving towards a window and opening it. The light revealed that it was Rong’an again. I looked closer and saw he held a sadistic smirk on his face as he walked over to the very person I was and still am worried about. He raised his hands to the sky and started to cry while maintaining his smirk.
“My god Fenix- I present to you the true ruler of the future Hun Empire. All in accordance with your will and way my lord,” he shouted while laughing.
A gust of wind then came from the window as the blood moon started to become prominent in the sky once more. I blocked my face from the pressure of the wind as it tried to overwhelm me. When it was done, Rong’an wasn’t there and I was concerned. I walked inside and searched the room but couldn’t find a trace of him. Then I had to cover my ears for what followed was terrifying. I looked at the source of the sound. I heard Tsu screaming at the top of his lungs, while his eyes were wide open and bleeding. He scratched violently at his chest as he did so much that he drew his blood.
“STOP, IT HURTS!!!!!” he screamed.
I stared baffled for a bit before falling to my knees and cried silently as everyone stormed in to try to help Tsu. I stayed on the floor crying silently as this happened.
“Tsu, what happened to you just now?” I whispered.
I stayed like that crying silently, couldn’t have anyone see their prince crying- that might scare them too much especially in the situation we were in. They were running around calling guards to hold him down, a maid trying to cover his mouth with a cloth to not scare anyone else that might have heard, medics trying to heal his fresh wounds and trying to find what was making him bleed from the eyes and screaming. I just stayed down- I couldn’t look at the state he was in, it would hurt my very soul too much. I then heard the door open and my mother released a horrendous screech that was ear-piercing. I looked up with the tears still flowing as she placed her hand on his head- maybe searching through his unconscious state of mind for what was causing this to happen. Then I saw him, the one person I am starting to hate with an undying passion.
“What is going on here?” he asked.
I stared for a bit and tried to register his presence and when I did- I couldn’t control my body anymore it was like my very soul was triggered by his very being. My vision changed and I could see this dark red aura around his body that looked like it was clinging onto him. My eyes teared up even more as my anger erupted with it.
“YOU!!!! I WILL KILL YOU!!!” I screamed as I jumped right at him.
I pushed both of us out the door, through a wall and into the main courtyard of the compound. He stared at me with such fear in his eyes but then the aura grew heavier around him and he smirked up at me.
“You can’t kill me even if you wanted to,” he whispered to me.
“Eden Stop!” my mother shouted.
“You are too weak to do so,” he continued.
“Eden!!!” my mother shouted again.
“You will never be strong, so just go and die.” he finished.
I threw a punch then another, each hitting in the same spot every time on his face. I couldn’t stop it, I didn’t feel anything that was for sure. I just started- nothing mattered other than me teaching this man a lesson for hurting my friend. He was nothing to me now especially for what I saw. And before I could land another punch.
“Soul Magic: Suspension.”
I froze in place and I fell on top of Rong’an’s unconscious body- and my mother continued to have her hand on my back. My mom then slowly shifted me off the guard and laid in the flower bed next to her. She stared at me for a bit then smiled.
“So, that's why you did it. Then I will fight for you.” she placed her hand on my eyes and I blackout.
Third Person’s Pov
The empress slowly got up from her crouched position and glared down at the body to her left. She pointed to the body and glared even harder.
“Heal him then lock him up. Tell the record keeper that he is being looked up for treason and defamation,” she said sternly as some guards started to usher the guard away.
“And to my son, though you meant well- you are under house arrest for physical harassment till further notice. Please heal him and don’t let him out of his suite.” another set of guards came for the Prince.
“Please send an emergency telegram to the Hun Empire asking for their immediate involvement in this uprising affair,” she spoke and some maids went off.
Once no one was left other than the recordkeeper that stood silently in the shadow. She slowly came into the light and stared.
“Dianna, as my son’s maid and secret record keeper: I order you to set this incident as void.” the empress sighed.
“Yes, Your Highness.” Dianna- the secret record keeper replied.
