(Thank you for the one fan who inspired me to finish this comic in time - I hope you, your child with IH, and your family are doing okay <3)
Let me paint you a picture in form of soap costs that kept on growing until I learned the joys of showering with my partner: It is time to shower. You already know it is going to be exhausting, but it is a thing that has to be done.
You strip up, haul ass to the bathroom, turn on the water while yawning so hard you wonder if your jaw will dislocate one day. That day is not today as you slather your body with whatever soap you got handy.
You mistake body soap for conditioner at least once a week because your eyes barely stay open. Shaving wont happen today either because you dropped the soap bottle and stare at it in defeat.
It has been a long while now, you think. Or short while - but why are your fingers getting all wrinkly already?
Your arms are so tired that you are not sure if you can lift them to touch your head anymore. It is hard to remember if you had already done that or not. Water feels heavy on your exhausted limbs but your resist the urge to just sit on the floor. The drain gives no clues whether or not you have washed anything or just stood there, letting the water turn you slowly into strange shade of red.
It is all a puzzle to figure out if you have washed yourself already. You must have, right? The mirror is entirely fogged up.
And you apparently need to buy a new shampoo. Again. Didn't you already buy one this month? You don't remember.
It is time to dry up. You already know it is going to be exhausting, but it has to be done.
You have IH, and everyday things are a battle.
Living with this disability can cost a lot - including in unnecessarily bough shampoo bottles.
I'll be back with a new comic in two weeks again!
Stay safe, remember to shower, and maybe take a buddy with you. <3
