If you're thinking that backstory sounds familiar, then you would be right. It came from the manga version of Pokemon XY! And keep in mind, the story I'm working on is not entirely taken from the manga but I am taking liberties on mixing it from the anime, game, and my own personal headcanon as well.

Poor Hex doesn’t even know about that though. Hearing her reasoning makes seeing past interactions more impactful since Calem doesn’t want Hex to find out about his achievements, or maybe he just doesn’t know how to address them without ruining what they have.
I can’t wait for them to have that talk and see how Hex reacts to dating the region’s champion
