= Luna POV =
Luna stretched and closed his laptop. It was time for him to get ready to go.
He stood up and began to rummage through his closet for something to wear. This was the first time he would see his crush DJ-ing, he had to look his best.
Eventually, he decided on white pants, a knitted ripped black top with a singlet inside, and black sneakers. After turning up in slacks and a T-shirt to university so often, he also wanted to show Judy and Anna that he could dress up.
Running gel through his hair, Luna used an eyeliner to line his water line, which made his eyes look more prominent. He was tempted to put on mascara but hadn’t used it in years and figured it might be crusty and gross.
He looked at the liner and smiled to himself. It was his mom’s. His parents had known he was gay and his mother was the first one to embrace him and talk to him about fashion. She even went out of her way to take him to drag events just to introduce him to the scene. Sometimes he felt bad that he chose business instead of fashion as his mother had been so excited to support him in the arts, however, he had always admired how hard his father worked on his business, and how well he took care of him and his mom, and he wanted to be that person, for someone special.
After the passing of his parents, Chris had kept a few of his parent’s possessions, however, the whole apartment in Manhattan had been bitterly squabbled over by his relatives, and in the end, the bank ended up repossessing it due to some complications over debts his father’s business had had. The majority of the furniture and other stuff in the house had been packed up and moved into a storage unit, which Luka helped Luna pay for monthly so that when Luna finally had his place, he could get all his parent’s stuff back.
His mother had always wanted to move to San Diego and buy a house by the sea. She had often said living in Manhattan was his father’s dream, but he had promised her that they would retire in San Diego one day, and as Chris had managed to get a hold of his parent’s ashes after their cremation, he intended to fulfil his mother’s dream one day, by moving there on his own and taking his parent’s ashes with him.
Luna put the eyeliner back in the floral make-up pouch and wiped his eyes with his sleeve. The eyeliner was waterproof so it didn’t smudge.
Luna also put on a silver necklace that his parents had gotten for him for his 15th birthday. It had both his parents’ wedding bands on it. Luna had had the two rings fused to make a figure eight as a symbol of them being together for all eternity, in life and death. He wore it whenever he went to see something really special, like a concert or visiting a new restaurant. He wanted a piece of his parents to always be close to him when it mattered.
Luna stood in front of his toilet door. He had stuck square mirrors that he had bought from a local dollar store to form a full-length mirror. He ran a hand through his short brown locks and checked his pants and his shirt. As far as he could see, he looked pretty good.
Luna grabbed his keys and wallet, locked up his room apartment and called a cab.
