Eternal Labyrinth

Floor 3-Part 2

Floor 3-Part 2

Jul 12, 2024

The rain was falling ever so slowly, the already uneven ground became more muddy. The muddy soil splashed with the footsteps of the people.

As the raindrops soak into the ground, they release the distinct smell of soil, The aroma is both sweet and musky, with hints of wet stone and decaying leaves.

It sure was the season to enjoy rain with hot tea and some snacks however, not for the people on Floor 3.

"Brother Li! My boots are soaked!"

Arial had wet hair and her clothes were soaked. It's a good thing that she was wearing a camouflage jacket.

Li Yun who himself had long hair was tired of this sticky feeling and looked around. They had just planned to find food, water and shelter but rain fell before they could do anything.

So it was decided to find shelter first before anything.

It was already 30 minutes and they still hadn't found a place suitable and they were soaked wet. If any of them get sick in this situation, they will get a lot more trouble.

Suddenly Li Yun remembered, In the last floor they couldn't OOC so they didn't use the so-called Innate Talent. What if they can use it here?

He stopped and looked at others and remembered their innate talents.

Li Yun looked at Ayesha and Arial.

"Ayesha, you have Arcane eyes right? And Arial has beast sense?"

Ayesha wiped the raindrops from her face and nodded calmly. Arial was still having trouble with her boots, but she nodded to confirm.

Kim Woojin suddenly understood.

"So you want to use the talents to find shelter?"

Li Yun nodded and explained.

"Arial and Ayesha have the best innate Talent for this situation. And I can use Astrology to get some idea from the stars."

Everyone stopped on their current location and decided to give it a try.

It was the first time for Ayesha and Arial to use their Talent but it was like a natural ability.

Arial closes her eyes and focuses, tapping into her Beast Sense. This talent allows her to tune into the instincts and behaviors of nearby animals, sensing their movements and habitats.

"I can sense the animals around us. They're all moving towards higher ground, likely towards some form of natural shelter."

She frowned and opened her eyes, Just using it for 10 seconds caused her headache.

Ayesha activates her Arcane Eyes, a talent that grants her enhanced vision and the ability to see magical auras and hidden pathways. She scans the area, looking for any signs of protective natural formations or mystical energies.

"I see a faint glow in the direction Arial mentioned. It's likely an area where the natural energies are concentrated, possibly a safe haven that could provide protection-cough,cough."

Ayesha's glowing golden eyes vanished and her color turned pale.

Lin Xueyin patted her back.

"It's ok now."

Ayesha thanked him softly and took a moment to turn stable.

Si Xing mumbled.

"We need to keep using our abilities....we are weak..."

Now it was Li Yun's turn to see if his talent can confirm what the two said. He raised his head to look at the sky and his deep blue eyes had shimmer of silver as soon as his Talent activated. He reads the patterns of the stars and the movements of celestial bodies, even through the storm clouds, to predict the safest path and the most secure location.

"The stars align with Arial's and Ayesha's findings. There's a safe zone in the north."

Li Yun lowered his head after a while.

Su Mingji who near him saw him suppressing his cough.

"Hey, don't suppress it, It will be more damaging."

Li Yun shook his head and said after a while.

"We should move quickly before the storm intensifies."

After a short but intense trek, the group arrives at a natural shelter.

It's a large cave nestled into a hillside, partially obscured by thick foliage. Inside, it's dry and spacious enough to accommodate the entire group.

The cave's entrance is protected by overhanging rocks and dense vegetation, providing additional cover from the rain and wind.

Arial smiled as she saw it.

"The animals' instincts didn't fail us. This place is perfect for riding out the storm."

Others nodded, It was really a good place to find shelter.

With this experience, Everyone got a good idea on how to use their abilities.

The rain kept falling for a while, The group had extra clothes in their inventory. So they let the girls change first and then they changed.

After a while, they found some dry woods in the cave, barely enough to keep them warm for the night.

Kim Woojin took out the lighter from his inventory, everyone admired his sharp intuition. Kim Woojin turned around with red ears.

"It's nothing, Just a habit."

So they had warm fire in the cold weather.

However, after a while. They felt thirst and hunger.

"Damn, If I knew I would have brought some food!"

Alex ruffled his hair, Xie Zhili grabbed his hand.

"Don't damage your hair, It will hurt later."

Alex recalled the nagging of his mother and tears welled up in his eyes and he hugged Xie Zhili arms and cried.

"Wooo, Mommy!!"

Xie Zhili:...

Others:....

Lisa sighed as she was used to her brother and she scolded him.

"Alex! Don't trouble brother Xie!"

Alex refused to let go.

"No, Sister, I am glad that brother Xie is worried about me. I remembered how my mother nagged me."

Xie Zhili was a bit annoyed.

While Si Xing couldn't control himself and laughed out loud.

"Pft~ Mommy?? hahaha...Ahem."

Being glared by Xie Zhili's sharp eyes...that was scary.

Alex also let go and sat up straight, Brother Xie looks gentle but he is scary when he smiles like that...

"Every creature has a story; it's up to us to ensure it continues."
