As they arrived at the garden, they saw the other teams running around, looking for the treasure. They could hear their excited voices and the sound of their footsteps as they ran from one challenge to the next.
The three of them looked at each other, feeling a sense of determination wash over them. They knew that they had to work together if they were going to win.
"Let's do this," Tulipa said, her voice determined.
They took off running, their feet pounding on the ground as they raced towards the statue of the winged horse. As they got closer, they could see the other teams gathering around it.
They arrived just in time to see the other teams digging through the soil, trying to find the treasure. They looked at each other, feeling a sense of excitement building inside of them.
"Let's join them," Xian said, his voice eager.
The three of them joined the other teams, digging through the soil and trying to find the treasure. It was a chaotic scene, with everyone scrambling to be the first to find it.
And then, finally, someone struck gold. It was Jaxen Ades. He found a golden chest, his team started cheering and clapping, claiming the victory. Jaxen opened the chest only to find a small piece of paper with something written on it. It read “Nice try!”.
All of the students were confused and disappointed as Jaxen opened the treasure chest to reveal a small piece of paper saying "Nice try!". They looked at each other, unsure of what to do next. But then, Tulipa, Xian, and Ghillin remembered what The Cook had told them about the Winged Caprihorn statue. They quickly made their way over to the statue, hoping to find something there.
As they arrived, they saw that the other teams had already searched the area thoroughly. But then, Xian noticed something strange about the statue. There was a small crevice in its base, which seemed to lead to a hidden compartment.
"Guys," he said, pointing to the crevice. "Look at that."
Tulipa and Ghillin looked at him, confused at first. But then they saw what he was pointing at, and their eyes widened with excitement.
"Let's check it out," Tulipa said, her voice eager.
The three of them approached the statue, peering inside the crevice. And then, they saw it. A small golden key, gleaming in the darkness.
"It's the key," Ghillin said, his voice hushed. "The key to the real treasure."
The three of them looked at each other, feeling a sense of excitement building inside of them. They knew that they had to find the real treasure, and claim the victory for themselves.
They quickly made their way back to the Grand Hall, where the other teams were celebrating their victories. But as they approached, they noticed that something was wrong. The Headmistress was standing at the front of the room, her expression grave.
"Students," she said, her voice somber. "I have some bad news. The treasure has been stolen."
The students gasped, looking at each other in shock and surprise.
"What do you mean, stolen?" one of the captains said, his voice shaking.
The Headmistress looked at them with a serious expression.
"I mean that someone has taken the real treasure," she said. "The chest that Jaxen found was a decoy, meant to distract you from the real treasure. And now, it's gone."
The students looked at each other in confusion and disbelief. They couldn't believe that someone had stolen the treasure, right under their noses.
But then, Tulipa, Xian, and Ghillin approached the Headmistress, holding up the golden key.
"We have the key," Tulipa said, her voice steady. "We found it in the Winged Caprihorn statue. It's the key to the real treasure. I guess."
The Headmistress looked at them with surprise and disbelief.
"What are you children doing out of detention?" she said, her voice hesitant.
The three of them stood still, with terrified expressions on their faces. They forgot they weren’t supposed to participate in the Hunt.
The Headmistress looked at them sternly, her eyes narrowing.
"I see," she said, her voice cold. "You three have a lot of explaining to do. But for now, give me the key. I will take care of it."
Tulipa, Xian, and Ghillin handed over the key, feeling a sense of shame and guilt wash over them. They knew that they had broken the rules, and that they had put themselves and others in danger.
The Headmistress took the key, looking at them with a stern expression.
"You three will have detention for the next week," she said. "And you will be under close supervision. I expect you to reflect on your actions, and to think about the consequences of your choices."
The three of them nodded, feeling a sense of shame wash over them. They knew that they had made a mistake, and that they had to learn from it. As the Headmistress turned to address the rest of the students, Tulipa, Xian and Ghillin went back to Detention.
As soon as the other students returned from the Treasure Hunt, Aurora released the spell and walked towards them with an excited look on her face. "How did it go?" she asked, eager to hear their story.
Tulipa, Xian, and Ghillin started telling the story to her, recounting their adventures and their near miss with the Cook. Aurora listened with rapt attention, feeling a sense of excitement building inside of her.
As they talked, they could hear the students cheering outside the Academy, and the sound of the Ending Trumpets marking the end of the festivities.
"Sounds like we missed out on a lot," Aurora said, her voice wistful.
Tulipa looked at her with a serious expression.
"Yeah," she said.
The other students nodded in agreement, feeling a sense of understanding.
"But we also had fun," Xian said, his voice eager. "And we learned a lot about ourselves and each other. I think that's what really matters."
Aurora smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude wash over her. She knew that she had made a mistake, but she also knew that she had learned something important.
"Yeah," she said, her voice quiet. "I think you're right. But I really wanted that prize, you know?"
Suddenly, Mr. Faustus looked up from his exam grading and shushed them. They all quieted down, feeling a sense of guilt wash over them. Aurora looked around, feeling embarrassed. She knew that they had broken the rules, and that they had put themselves in danger.
"Sorry, Mr. Faustus," she said, her voice quiet.
He looked at them sternly, his expression cold.
"This is detention," he said. "Not a party. You are here to reflect on your actions, not to fool around like clowns."
The students nodded, feeling a sense of shame wash over them.
"Sorry, sir," Tulipa said, her voice quiet.
Mr. Faustus looked at her for a moment, and then he nodded.
"Good," he said. "Now, let's get back to work."
With that, he turned back to his exam grading, leaving the students sitting in silence. They knew that they had made a mistake, but they also knew that they had each other to lean on.
