Originally released on DeivantArt and pixiv on April 1st, 2024, this is intended to be what I do for April, which is releasing funny stories or drawings as a part of "April Funnies," given I was never fond of April Fools (for good reason, being the shy, sensitive kid growing up).
Then again, a lot of my stories have a comedic aspect to them anyway.
Kit comes along to contextualize my fears and anxieties over AI image generators in a silly way. I mean, look at this girl getting absorbed into that doodle! Of course, she blows Kaylee's poor mind with her question. Kaylee has a good point about Kit in general... The world might not be ready for her! XD
But to answer Kit's question, no, her doodles are not "AI art." AI Art as we know it is based on prompting an algorithm fed massive amounts of image data and training, then it "replies" with an image. Kit, on the other hand, is known to dream and to be inspired. Why she's drawing a dragon, even she couldn't tell you! She builds images much the same way a human would.
The philosophical questions this girl poses...
I'm the artist that drew this, and the author of the stories behind it and its characters. I'm the owner for copyright purposes.
Welcome to the world of Behind the Veil! This world is much like ours, but all sorts of magical forces and beings exist in the background. Merfolk, dryads, magical fox people, and so many more exist, helping the world in the background. All of which tend to accept the LGBTQ+ community and guide those in need that come into their fold.
While all of my original stories (comics and novels alike) exist within this world, some are separate one-one page or short comics in this grand world. This is the place for these little moments, such as "Sour Demon Fruit!" and "Kit's Doodle."
(See the companion piece, "Behind the Veil: Campfire Tales!" for one-shot short stories [often split into smaller parts due to size] from this world!)
This will update infrequently and irregularly, as new one-shots for my wider Behind the Veil series are created.
