Dear Diary
Hello, it’s me again, Rosaline the centaur, you know me. Why am I saying this? Anyway! I have big news for you. Today I found a school that would accept me. Yay! I pray that this place will be different. I’m tired of being surrounded by stuck up horses that pick on you for being different. You already know, diary, I used to get picked on a lot. Any chance they could get, they would tease me. They would make fun of my appearance or for silly things like liking a play that was just about colorful ponies being friends.
It’s dumb, but a good show. And don’t get me started on how they love comparing me to my stepsister. She’s like the princess of Sunflower Meadows. I hate her. They think she’s the best at everything she does. No matter what it is, they would always compare me to her. They adore her beautiful blonde hair. But despise my black, long, messy hair that covers my eyes. My skin is very pale too, so they nicknamed me ghost girl. They say I will haunt them if I come near. But the second she lets her hair down its ohhh, how mysterious and elegant she is, ugh. I’m sick of being a noble the jument is getting to me now. Good thing I’m leaving soon… shoot, I vented this entire time. I’m very sorry. Well, I got to go now. See you later. This is Rose sighing off.

Dear Diary
Hi again, like I do with all the things I would like to forget. I’m going to talk about my past and put it behind me before I start my new life. So here I go. When I was little, my life was perfect pure bliss, you could say. Being the only child, I was happy. There was only me, my mother, and father. Mom and I were the best of friends. She would sing me lullabies, chase me through the sunflower field all the way to the forest. She even hand carved me the same ponies from my favorite show to play with. Sometimes she would even play with me.
“Look Mom!”
Rosaline points at her yellow pony toy. “This FlutterFly, my favorite.” “How cute. Who are the rest?” Rosaline gathers the other ponies in her hands. “This is Rainbow Flash, Applejazz, Twilight Sprinkles and Pinky Puff. Oh, and Point, he’s a dragon.” says Rosaline. “Then who’s this?” Rosaline stares the way her mother is pointing. She notices the white pony left on the table. “Uh, oh, who cares about that one?” Rosaline kicks the table, making the white pony fall to the floor.
Funny how I always hated that pony as a kid. Nowadays, she kind of reminds me of my sister. Hmm, she was the best mother anyone could ask for. But of course, it’s the way of the world that all good things must end. My mother was always a sickly woman, but that would never stop her from being the best mom. One day I asked her for tea for my tummy. She went to get some special leaves in the forest but… she never came back. She died alone, and it was my fault. I was only five years old when she passed.
This broke my father. She was his first love, after all. My father always had problems, but with my mom it was like they disappeared. He promised if anything happens, he would live life to the fullest and take care of me.
A liar he is.
Without her, he had fallen back into those habits. In that state, it’s like the world wasn’t even real anymore, including me. He forgot I was even there. I did everything to make him feel better. To make him notice me just once. But nothing worked.
At night, he would leave to do things that would make him feel alive again. He would cling to the first thing that made him happy to make himself feel better. Soner or later, a few years more like, he started dating a lady named Jezebel. At first, it was like the sun had shined from behind the clouds. It thrilled me that my father had found a new love. She even had a daughter. “Yes, someone to play with.” I thought. The little girl’s name was Evelyna. Little did I know those wenches would ruin my life.

“Evelyna, sweetie, go play with your sister, mommy and daddy need some alone time,” says Jezebel. “Okay, mommy.” “Hi, my name’s Rosaline, but all my friends call me rose.” “Yeah, see, I don’t make friends with losers, so I’m not doing your little nickname thing, sorry.” “Oh, okay.” Rosaline frowns and droops her head down at the ground.
“Aww, don’t look so sad. I was only playing with you. Come here.” Evelyna opens her arms wide, gesturing to hug her. Rosaline smiles and goes in for a hug. “Bring it in sister.” As Rosaline tries to hug her, Evelyna pushes her to the floor and slaps mud on her face. Evelyna points and giggles in Rosaline’s face. “I can’t believe you fell for that, you idiot! You’re such a loser.” Evelyna prances out the door before slamming it. Tears well up in Rosaline’s eyes. She weeps as she picks herself off the floor. Ever since that day, they’ve mistreated me, and I don’t know why. I don’t know what I did to deserve this pain.
My stepmother also has it out for me. She hates how I remind her of my mother. She hates me so much that she started making up excuses like I don’t act or am talented enough to be a true noble. But I know the true reason she’s kicking me out. She said she found a school where I can be with my people. Whatever that means.
“Oooh, Sebastian dddarling, I found a school for your trout of a daughter!” Ugh. “Mmm yes, Jezebel daaaarrling, that seems like it will do.” Ugh! Like whom even says that about her stepdaughter. Even when-
“Trout!”
Rosaline stops writing to glance at her stepmother. “Uh, whatever could you want Jezebel?” “That’s Mrs. Jezebel to you!” “No thank you, only married people have that title.” “As if my father would every marry you, he still in love with my mother.” “But you can still wish on your lucky stars and wait as long as you want, though.”
“You little, mmm, I don’t have time for this. Do you have your things packed your leaving in thirty minutes?” says Jezebel. “Oh, how time flies.” “Yes, now hurry. The sooner I can get you out, the better.” Jezebel also mentions, “If you leave anything, I will throw it out, so make sure you take everything.” Rosaline sighs and continues writing. “Well, you heard the wench. It’s time to go. I’ll see you at school. This is Rose signing off.”
