Lilika saw Navien flung against the wall and fall limp. Anger swept through her.
“Now witness destruction,” Xyrin said as he pulled a lever down.
The gears in the room started whirring faster, and faster, the lights in the city below began to glow brighter and brighter still. Screams could suddenly be heard and Lilika looked down through the boards and saw fires start in the houses, as the lights began to burn the city down. The light became too intense as the gaps between the boards beneath them began to glow with white light. Beams of this white light began to grow around them shooting up all around the room.
“A city destroyed by its own prided decor, how ironic,” Xyrin chuckled looking down.
He looked back up only to narrowly avoid Lilika’s ax sailing straight for his neck. She twirled back swinging again only to be blocked by their sword, he snickered. She just grew more angry.
She swung again, and again, and again, Xyrin couldn’t block all her swings, getting nicks here and there, he started to grimace.
She pushed Xyrin back off the dais, her ax swinging down and catching his shoulder, cleaving straight through his shoulder pauldron.
“You know anger is a rather ugly emotion to have, wouldn’t you like to quiet down now?” Xyrin said, pulling a smirk.
Lilika didn’t care, she yelled,
“No, I. Would like. To RAGE!!”
All of a sudden she stilled, just for a moment, as her ax started swinging even faster than before. The sharp clangs of metal against metal ringing throughout the room.
Makith after helping Yorna out of the hole, went over and started to heal Navien, The light below seeped through between the floorboards illuminating the room in a white light.
Yorna and Drinial started breaking all the lights in the room emitting beams.
Navien opened his eyes and saw Lilika whamming on Xyrin, Xyrin was recovering though, and was getting some hits on Lilika, she was already bleeding from several wounds.
She was fighting for him, he knew it somehow, he got up despite Makith’s complaints,
“I haven’t finished healing you!”
He cast a blade of Night in Xyrin’s direction, It cut through a bit of their torso, purplish blood pooling lightly out.
He ran up to Lilika and they shared a glance, then they started pulling out everything they had.
He released a ball of darkness that exploded on Xyrin, sending Xyrin back. Lilika then leapt at Xyrin throwing her ax down, Xyrin rolled dodging it, but not the handaxe she managed to throw as she landed.
It caught Xyrin’s back as they yelled. Xyrin swept around with their blade catching Lilika’s torso but she managed to push it off before it went too deep.
Xyrin’s image suddenly blurred as they reappeared elsewhere, they tried running for the door when Drinial yelled out a spell that sent sound shocks hitting Xyrin back.
Then Yorna swung her ax and hammer at them.
They blocked one but the hammer hit across the cheek, and some of Xyrin’s teeth flew from their mouth.
Xyrin turned back around heading for one of the larger holes in the boards, Lilika and Navien blocked their way.
Lilika swung her ax at Xyrin. They blocked it and crouched low, twirling out of the way, their blade catching Navien’s arm as he tried to cast a spell.
Looking back behind them to the party Xyrin raised their hand and gears started to come off the wall, the gears then flew toward the party knocking Drinial and Makith back, Yorna got hit square in the face tumbling unconscious to the ground.
“You can’t beat me, You’re just a wretched girl and a useless elf!” Xyrin yelled!
Navien and Lilika looked up, as one they yelled!
Lilika ran first and swung downwards upon them, Xyrin raised their sword to block, but it had been damaged from her swings earlier.
The ax shattered it, and as it fell her ax cleaved through their breastplate.
Xyrin’s blood splattered, and a look of shock reached their face.
Navien then summoned the darkness he learned from the tower, sending a beast of pure shadow, of teeth, and claws hurling towards Xyrin.
The beast of shade pierced Xyrin’s torso, slamming them against the eye and shattering it into pieces.
The gears stopped turning and the lights below died down. Looking at the claws of Night in their body, Xyrin muttered one last thing before breathing their last breath,
“D-disgusting girl.”
Lilika and Navien panted, looking at one another they hugged. Navien cried again as the stress of the past few days finally caught up to him, and Lilika just hugged him fiercely back.
