Since that night.
**Chapter 3****
Like almost every night, Cassie, Mr. Lion's eldest daughter, rushed out to wash what was left of her rags, because she almost did not like to go out during the day to avoid the harassment of some drunks, who like hungry lions kidnapped some young girls to turn them into their wives or lovers... you could say that she was already a spinster, that she had rarely been seen, and she did not seem to be interested in any man, since she liked to live in her daydream where she met a man from far away lands who would sacrifice everything to have her, but those were only dreams of a repressed teenager... her little sister Brittany, suddenly appeared behind her carrying her small basket with rags and saying booh!!!, trying to scare her older sister, who silently and almost whispered: Brittany, it's too late for you to go out, go back to the house before you have to meet an unpleasant man of your own. Here, the little girl didn't care what her sister had said and continued saying: I came here because the house is full of ruffians, I think they took mom as part of the payment, surely to be a slave or a maid in one of Muriel's properties, that's why I came with you, because I don't want to be alone listening to those indecent words; Cassie agreed with her and said: don't make noise so they don't discover us too, we don't want to have to see the face of that horrible men, I imagine their feet are all sweaty and full of fleas; that made her little sister laugh softly and say: and surely her back is full of pimples and infected spots, the sisters laughed very happily as they washed their rags on a river stone, soon, little Brittany fell asleep lying on her older sister's legs, the night was intense and seemed charged with emotion, Cassie could feel that someone was watching her, almost as if they were spying on her, but she didn't see anyone, that made the feeling disturbing, then, she proposed to leave her jacket there, she carried her sister in her arms and carried her silently to the house, but she still felt that someone was following her, as if a wolf was watching her from another side and this made her make sure to put a chair at the door of her sister's room so that no one would enter, then she went out she saw her father asleep in the living room noticing that he had cried, his cheekbones were swollen and perhaps he had become infected; or maybe it was the result of a beating, whatever it was, she kept quiet and went back to the river, when she came back, there were her rags and her sister's, she picked them up and they were heavy, since the water made them twice their original weight, but at that moment, while she was carrying the basket of both in her hands, she felt a tickle on her back, perhaps it was the weight that was taking its toll on her, but the moment she turned around her throat went dry, because green eyes were staring at her with a height of 1.98, a fully formed and muscular body and with an animal skin similar to that of some leopard, but his face was totally horrible, as if a demon had come out of hell: barely some human characteristics were visible such as the eyes, nose and mouth, the rest was deformed, that made her drop the basket, fall on the stone where she had washed the clothes and fearing for her life she said to him: Do not hurt me and I will not say that I have seen you, now, ¿Could you let me go home?, A low growl came from the man who stretched out one of his arms and extended his hand, impressing her with enormous claws so sharp that she even cut herself when touching them... When she stood up, the beast was staring at her with curiosity, she was the first person who had not screamed when seeing him and who had not tried to hurt him, but on the contrary, wanted to return to the hut that she had seen a moment ago when she quickly followed him.
The beast thought: what a strange creature, ¿could it really be a witch and is trying to trick me?, His thoughts were quickly invaded when he saw the woman retreat with the baskets of wet clothes, in the moonlight her silhouette was beautiful as that of a goddess, then he followed her from afar, almost as if he were watching her steps until he saw her arrive at that pigsty and spread the water-soaked rags on the branches of a small, almost dry tree, leaving the baskets under the trunk... when she turned around she collided with him, and seeing that she had brought him to her home she felt afraid and saw the need to kneel before him and beg him not to destroy her family, however, the beast bent down to be at the same level as her, and looking into her eyes he asked: ¿what is your name?, His hoarse voice made her skin crawl and her blood almost froze and almost in a flash she was shocked.
She whispered and answered: My name is Cassie, I am nobody in this life, but I forbid you to kill my family... Those sweet words seemed to have a tone of threat, then, in a soft voice, the beast said to her: Do not provoke me Cassie, and then, standing up, he disappeared from her sight at such a speed that she only felt the wind on her face and her hair fluttering at his sudden departure. And it was only half an hour later that she was able to regain consciousness, noticing that it was almost dawn, that it seemed like everything had happened a few seconds ago, but it had taken her almost all night for that first encounter in which she wished it would also be the last, with this in mind she entered the house, put a chair behind the door inside her sister's room, got into her bed and hugged her tightly, almost as if she feared she would disappear in his arms, then she fell deeply asleep without knowing that the beast was watching her from a magic mirror that was in his Castle…
