A young girl is fostered by a mysterious man named Herman. Despite their long time together, Herman refuses to reveal much about himself, and the girl becomes curious about his true nature. The girl spies on Herman and learns a lot about him in the process. But the more she tries to understand Herman, the more Herman pushes back in the form of harsh control and violence. Both characters slowly decay as they continue a relationship with no communication. This experience affects the girl later on in her life and hinders her ability to form bonds with others.
