Henry had to meet his group project friends today. He reached at the café and greeted them. Sarah looked at Henry and looked outside the café; it was obvious that she was looking for Liam.
Sarah: what happened to your friend? Will he be coming today?
Henry did not think much about Sarah’s question and replied: oh he had some work today, he won’t be coming.
Sarah was disappointed after all she put so much effort in getting ready today so that she could impress Liam.
The group discussion went smoothly and everyone decided their parts. Henry went to the restroom when he came out Sarah dragged him into the corner.
Sarah: listen I'm gonna be straightforward with you. I need Liam’s number. Can you give it to me?
Henry: why?
Sarah: well of course I'm interested in him that’s why.
Henry was confused and said: but he’s gay
Sarah: gay or not just give me his number, the rest is my work.
Henry got mad, he couldn’t tell Ava about his own feelings for Liam, he felt so helpless then he took a deep breath and mumbled: why don’t you ask him out yourself?
Sarah couldn’t hear him, she said: what?
Henry: I said why don’t you ask him out yourself? Don’t involve me in his matters.
Henry rushed back and grabbed his bag from the table.
Jacob: dude! Where are you going?
Henry: you guys have fun. I'm not feeling well so I'll go.
Henry barged outside the café with tears in his eyes.
Jacob: what’s up with him suddenly?
Vanessa: beats me
Sarah came back.
Jacob asked her: did you say something to him?
Sarah: I just had a little chat with him. I didn’t know why he over reacted so much.
Jacob and Vanessa knew right away what that chat would be they looked at each other with worry on their faces because they knew that if this situation goes on, it won’t be good for any of them.
Sarah didn’t care about Henry; she just wanted to pave her way towards Liam so she decided to ask Liam out herself.
Henry reached his home; his vision was blurred due to his tears. He jumped on his bed thinking what he has ever done to deserve this. All he ever wanted was to date Liam and now when he finally got the chance the people are already out there to get him.
His phone was ringing, Henry did not wanted to talk to anybody, he got tired from all the insecurities that Sarah put in him by only just asking Liam’s number. The phone still kept ringing but Henry ignored it.
A while after, someone was banging at the door, that person rang the bell so hard that the whole building could wake up from it. Henry got up and opened the door, it was Liam. He was out of breath as if he ran too much. Liam hugged Henry and bombed him with so many questions at once:
Where were you? Are you okay? Why weren’t you answering your phone? Did someone hurt you?
Henry’s heart softened at this sight, he loved this person for years, and this person cares so much for him. Henry doesn’t know if they will be together forever but he wants this moment to stop, this moment where Liam is thinking about him and only him. Henry hugged Liam; he didn’t want to let him go. Liam hugged back; he guessed right away that what Henry wants right now is not questions but a warm embrace to calm him down.
