The Sun Rises When The Moon Falls [Gender Neutral Reader X Sun N Moon]

Chapter 17: Broken Moon part 3

Chapter 17: Broken Moon part 3

Aug 03, 2024

With the replacement coating in hand, you returned to Moon's side, preparing the tools needed for the delicate procedure. Carefully, you began to remove Moon's damaged coating, exposing the metal frame underneath. Moon winced and gritted his teeth, his body tensing with each movement.

Eclipse watched with wide eyes, a mix of fascination and concern evident on his face. He had never seen the inner workings of an animatronic before, and the sight both intrigued and intimidated him. Yet, he remained faithful by your side, a silent means of support.

As you removed the last of Moon's old coating, you took a moment to appreciate the intricate design of his metal frame. The details were impeccable, an indication to the craftsmanship of the animatronic engineers. It was a shame to cover it up, but you knew that the coating was necessary for Moon's protection.

The broken wires were a tangle of chaos, a jumble of severed connections that needed to be carefully reestablished. You reached for a set of delicate tools and a manual, your hands steady and precise as you began the complicated process of repairing Moon's internal wiring.

Moon groaned in pain, as you worked, the sound reverberating through the room, a heartbreaking reminder of his suffering. Eclipse's eyes widened, filled with concern and compassion, as he watched you carefully navigate the jumble of wires.

The atmosphere in the room was hushed, the only sounds being the soft hum of the overhead lights and the occasional clink of tools. Your focus was unwavering, your fingers moving with practiced precision. Each wire you reconnected was like a lifeline being restored, bringing Moon one step closer to being whole again.

Moon's gaze remained fixed on you, his expression a mixture of pain and gratitude. He trusted you, knowing that you were his best chance at recovery. Despite the discomfort and slight distrust he was feeling, there was a glimmer of hope in his eyes, a belief that you would make everything right again.

Eclipse, too, was captivated by the sight before him. He had never seen such complicated work, never witnessed the mending of this kind of animatronic in such detail. His fear and uncertainty were momentarily forgotten as he became lost in the intricate dance of your hands, the delicate balance of repairing the broken.

You then went on to replace the coating. As you delicately replaced Moon's old coating with the new one, a transformation took place before your eyes. The once worn and damaged exterior gave way to a sleek, pristine surface. Moon's original appearance was restored, the coating fitting seamlessly over his metal frame. It was a show of your skill and dedication.

Eclipse watched in awe, his eyes wide with wonder. The fear and uncertainty that had plagued him moments ago were overshadowed by the sheer beauty of the process. To him, it was like witnessing a rebirth, a testament to the resilience of the animatronics and the power of compassion.

As you finished securing the new coating, Moon's eyes fluttered open. The pain that had been etched on his face slowly faded, replaced by a sense of relief and gratitude. He flexed his newly repaired arm, testing its range of motion, and a smile tugged at the corners of his lips.

"Thanks" Moon whispered, his voice filled with genuine appreciation.

You smiled back at him, a mixture of relief and happiness washing over you. Eclipse, witnessing the transformation, couldn't contain his excitement any longer. He took a step forward, his fear melting away completely. You unlatched the metal restraints, setting Moon's limbs free.

Moon flexed his newly repaired arm, the movement smooth and fluid. There was no trace of the pain that had once etched his face, only a sense of renewed strength. A smile tugged at the corners of his lips.

"You did it Nova! Moon, you're fixed!" he exclaimed, Eclipse's voice filled with childlike wonder.

Moon smirked at Eclipse's excitement, his gaze momentarily flickering with a hint of amusement. "Yeah, yeah," he replied nonchalantly, though his eyes betrayed a hint of gratitude.

You then remembered why you wanted Moon in the first place, to ask him about his change of personality. You decided to ask him later though. You wanted to let him rest, you'll ask him in a few hours.

"We should get back to the daycare," you suggested, gesturing towards the exit. "You need some rest, Moon. We can talk later, I need to ask you something."

Moon nodded, understanding the need for rest. "Yeah, sounds good," he replied.
