Chapter 15 : Aether Haven

Chapter 15 : Aether Haven

Aug 04, 2024

The law of universal gravitation explains that all bodies with mass, such as stars or planets, attract each other. The more massive and close they are, the stronger their attraction, which explains why we stay on Earth instead of floating in space.

Hubble's law, although less known, is just as important. It demonstrates that the universe is expanding, with galaxies moving away from each other. The more distant they are, the higher their speed of recession.

These laws govern the world we live in. Without them, chaos would reign and nothing would function properly, with everything risking disappearance into nothingness.

However, an unknown law of the world, impossible to prove, has emerged. It has existed since the moment I woke up in the cell that served as my room. I named it the law of transcendental perception. In essence, it states that as long as an individual is unable to perceive a color absent from their visual spectrum, or fails to distinguish something too distant or too small, they absolutely cannot interact with it. And this law, I have overcome.

When I woke up, the pain was still there, but strangely bearable. I was unusually lucid, filled with a burning desire.

A memory roared deep within my being, born the day I learned of a world beyond my village. I dreamed of seeing the sea, but also distant lands barely mentioned in stories. Majestic volcanoes spewing fire into the sky, auroras dancing in frozen nights, lush forests harboring ancient secrets. I imagined cities where lightning would be tamed, and marine depths populated by creatures as beautiful as they were deadly.

This aspiration, rooted in me, had grown each day spent at the bottom of the well, and had turned into an obsession during my years of slavery. This desire that consumed me was the freedom to explore, to discover, to live.

My conception of freedom was simple, almost primitive: to go wherever I pleased, without hindrance or constraint.

Standing in my cell, I began to observe my reflection in the puddle of water at my feet, and discovered with astonishment that my eyes had radically changed. Their original colors had disappeared, giving way to colorlessness. But what struck me most were the cracks that started from my pupils, as if someone had shot a bullet at a mirror. But this wasn't the most surprising. The puddle of water revealed a microscopic world in motion. The air itself seemed alive, populated with atoms I could distinguish. Colors never seen before danced around me.

But what truly captivated my attention was an ethereal rift behind the bars of my prison. This breach in the fabric of reality opened onto a world of indescribable beauty. My blood began to boil and my will took over. I had only one desire: to go there.

In the blink of an eye, I found myself on the other side, leaving the cell. The transition was so abrupt that it took my breath away. Where darkness and misery had reigned now stretched a landscape defying all logic.

Extremely confused, I still had my chains around my wrists, but I was no longer in the dungeon. Turning around, I could still see it as if through a television screen. I was amused to see the guards enter, unable to guess where I was. Even when they looked in my direction, they seemed unable to see me. A nervous laugh escaped me. I, the timid and submissive little slave, had managed to fool them.

Rising to my feet, I contemplated this new world. The air itself seemed to vibrate with mystical energy, shimmering with luminous particles I had never been able to perceive before. The sky, of a deep and unreal blue, was dotted with stars and galaxies visible in broad daylight, slowly twirling in a hypnotic cosmic dance.

The ground beneath my feet was not made of earth, but of a crystalline substance that changed color with each of my steps, creating chromatic ripples that propagated to infinity. Plants of impossible shapes grew all around, their leaves seemingly made of pure black light, gently undulating in a breeze I couldn't feel. In the distance, mountains with crystal peaks rose.

Rivers of absolute purity meandered through this dreamlike landscape, their water so clear it was almost invisible, revealing itself only through the changing reflections of the environment on its surface. Fascinated, I grabbed a handful of this miraculous water. It emitted a soft, multicolored glow in my palm, as if it contained the very essence of this strange world.

Unfortunately, I was really very weak. Although I moved forward with the will to discover this new world, I had lost too much blood and ended up fainting on the bluish grass of the vastness of space.

Hours became days before I finally woke up. I found myself in a room of unparalleled luxury. The ceiling, like a starry sky, shone softly. The walls seemed made of a material between marble and pure light. Colorful spirits danced around me, and the chandelier that illuminated the room appeared to be carved from a living diamond.

As I realized the absence of my wounds, a mysterious being entered. He resembled a mass of gray stardust energy, dressed in a butler's outfit.

"It seems the young master has regained consciousness," he stated solemnly.

Confused, I asked, "Where am I? Who and what are you?"

The being bowed gracefully. "I am Vesper, the butler of this humble abode. You are in the VIP room of our highly respected king's palace."

Intrigued by his appearance, I insisted, "But what exactly are you? I don't understand your appearance."

Vesper seemed surprised. "So you are able to see my true nature? Fascinating. I am what mortals call a djinn, more precisely a Hinn. You are in Aether Haven, the invisible realm of the djinns."

He then explained that I had been healed on the king's orders, who had been waiting for me for a long time. Subsequently, he guided me to the throne room so that I could meet this being who had imposed his command on the entirety of this dimension.

On the way, I encountered other equally strange entities: beings of fire, water, earth, all dressed as servants of the palace.

The palace itself was an architectural marvel defying imagination. The corridors seemed to stretch infinitely, their walls adorned with living frescoes telling the history of this world. Fountains of pure light gushed at every intersection, their shimmering waters flowing in defiance of gravity.

Arriving in the royal hall, I was immediately struck by the magnificence of the place. The walls seemed made of a material between marble and pure light, softly shimmering with a thousand reflections. The ceiling rose so high that it was lost in a golden mist, giving the impression that the room extended to the heavens.

Columns of unparalleled beauty supported this celestial vault, each seeming to tell the story of this world through living engravings that moved and changed before my amazed eyes.

At the center of this architectural marvel stood a colossal throne, made of a material I couldn't identify. It seemed to absorb and emit light simultaneously, creating a halo of pure power around it.

And on this throne sat a creature whose mere presence made the air around him vibrate. The energy he exuded was so intense that I felt my legs weaken, as if gravity itself bowed before him.

Despite this overwhelming aura, when he spoke, his voice was surprisingly soft and warm, imbued with an emotion I didn't expect to hear from such a powerful being.

"Here you are at last..." he proclaimed in a relieved voice. "Delighted to finally make your acquaintance, Zayn, my equal!"

Interesting speculation on gravity.

If it is to believe that our galaxy rotates, then our sun follows the same way as the stars do. While our planets rotate around the sun.

Everything spins to maintain gravity.

Always wonder why our planet Earth is not suffering serious space radiation like the other planets in our solar system, only to find out that our world's atmosphere and magnetic shields protect us from cosmic radiation. Even the Mesosphere above the stratosphere protects Earth from asteroids (nearly all of them anyway).

However, as years go by, the summer is getting hotter every year. 🔥 🥵
