‘What’s wrong, Viola?’ asked Mattias. She gasped and started looking at him, putting away her flask.
‘I’ve had a long day, let’s just leave it there’ she got off the chair at the bar and walked over to him. ‘Wanna know something? I’ve already booked a room here. You can come with me there, just you and me, OK?’ Mattias was silent, he then looked at Katrine.
‘It’s up to you’ she said.
‘Ugh, you’re such a bore! Come on, Mattias!’ Mattias followed her upstairs into a small room with a double bed. She immediately laid down on the bed gazing at him, though Mattias was just looking at her all puzzled.
‘Look Viola, I’m with Katrine here, what’s wrong?’ Viola sighed, she almost looked as if she were about to cry.
‘I want to tell you something’ she began ‘I actually hate being a succubus’
‘That’s… understandable’ he answered, he then sat on the bed.
‘We cannot get pregnant, and our lives here end up just being the same thing everyday’
‘Well, that sucks I guess-’
‘What do you mean?! It’s like what the hell do we live for?! Can’t you see that the way our lives should be is that we have children and raise them, you know, to continue the circle of life! But we can’t do that, so what’s the point of anything?!’ Mattias simply sighed.
‘Sometimes I just feel life itself is just pointless’ he said
‘Do you actually want a slap in the face? Of course life isn’t pointless! We’ll all be dead otherwise… I mean, even more dead!’ the was quite a long period of silence after that ‘OK then, let ask you this, then’
‘OK…’
‘Is there someone you love, some really dear to you?’ Mattias took a while to answer.
‘Well, back in the real world there’s Patty, she’s the Duchess’ daughter. She’s pretty much the only reason I get to go to the castle and all’ A tear was rolling down Viola’s face.
‘Yeah? Well…’ she then covered her face ‘Never mind, just leave alone’
‘Fine. I think I’m better off back at the dungeon anyway’ Mattias went over to the door, opening it. Katlamina was on the other side, Mattias gasped as soon as he saw her.
‘Oh! I’m so sorry!’ she said ‘I was… worried about you!’
‘Well, thanks, I guess’ Orhan was there, too - he had a smile on his face.
‘I do not do this to most people, but would you like to come and sit with us?’ he asked.
‘Ummm… OK, fine’ Katlamina had a big smile on her face.
‘Really?!’
‘I’ve got nothing better to do, so yeah’
‘I think you’ll be much better off with us than that stupid harlot over there’ Viola went and slammed the door shut.
Laying on his deathbed due to a terminal illness, Mattias gets greeted by a mysterious woman. His life is saved, but at a cost: he is now a pawn of the underworld.
