"Tsk, he does what he wants" Lake, the beta of Kairos, complained to himself

Lake watched as the alpha discretely took yet another piece of the same chocolate cake!

He literally ate 6 pieces, 6!

That stupid man I tell you, how the hell do people fear him?

Lake thought, watching Kairos intently.

"Forbidden love, I see" Someone teased and Lake turned around to see a man with brown hair stare at him in amusement

He was taller than Lake and had pale green eyes along with scratches on his forhead.

Pretty hot, to be honest.

That scar was probably from a wolf fight.

Lake thought

The man in question had a stupid, creepy smirk on his lips making Lake unable to hide his disgust

"What the hell do you want, you fucking creep?" He exclaimed in disgust

Before even waiting for the man to answer, Lake quickly walked away 

Ughh, why does it always happen to me?

Ever since he was young, Lake had always attracted creeps so, he was used to random people talking to him

To be honest, Lake doesn't even know why Kairos made him the beta. Lake was only 5'6 and he wasn't that muscular. He wasn't like a leaf either but still, there were people who deserved the position more than him

'Alpha Kairos, I've always loved you more than anything and I want to make you mine so bad but this love of mine is one sided-'

"Ugh Kairos, don't say that in my head!" Lake growled, turning around to see an amused Kairos with his arms crossed

"What was that for? Mind link doesn't exist for you to pull shit like this" Lake scowled and Kairos chuckled

"I've been calling you for long but you weren't answering. So, I tried my luck! Why are you getting mad? Don't lie, you know you want a piece of this" He teased, referring to himself and Lake rolled his eyes

"Yeah sure, as if!"

'Shit, that was close! What if he really finds out that I'm genuinely in love with him-'

"KAIROS!" Lake yelled in frustration and the alpha burst out of laughing

Lake groaned, rubbing his palm on his face. He suddenly chuckled, his frustration turning into amusement making the alpha pat his back

"Now you're better! Everytime you're in deep thoughts, it's probably because you're doubting yourself or something. Come on silly, I told you, no one is more perfect to be my beta than you, okay?" Kairos insisted and Lake nodded

"I know, even if I do doubt it, I'm not going to let anyone say that I'm not perfect for it. Only I can think bad of myself, no one else is allowed to" Lake complained

"That's my boy!" Kairos exclaimed before going to take yet another cake making Lake roll his eyes

One thing Lake would never tell Kairos was that he was glad that the alpha was his friend.

Lake certainly doesn't love the alpha but, the alpha was someone he respected.

They've been together ever since they were 15 when alpha Kairos' parent had died.

If Lake had to compare, he prefered this annoying Kairos over the 15-year-old boy who always had a blank expression.

15 and 16-year-old Kairos was a living dead body. That probably had to do with the death of the previous alphas who were both killed at the same time.

"Here we meet again, You seem lonely, are you okay?" the man with brown hair said and Lake sighed

"No, I'm not okay. My alpha is annoying and now, I'm talking to a creep who looks like he just woke up" Lake said flatly, referring to the man's hair ressembling a bird's nest.

"You hit right on the mark, don't you? Between you and me, I totally didn't get attack by a crow" The creep said, looking away in humiliation and Lake couldn't help but let out a choked laughed

"What... Who the fuck gets attacked by a crow at like, 22.00?" Lake asked in amusement and the man sighed

"Me, apparently. Last week, I was chased by...." He trailed

"You were chased by?" Lake pressed

".... Goats" The creep mumbled and this time, Lake couldn't help but laugh loudly

"Why? What are you?" He asked in amusement and the creep sighed

"Bad with animals honestly. The only animal who didn't harm me were the bunnies. Also, if you didn't see this, " He answered, parting his hair to reveal the scar Lake saw earlier

"I got scratched by a kitten earlier today" He admitted, as if he was in deep pain and Lake closed his mouth tight to prevent himself from laughing again

"Anyway, let's put my shitty luck aside, I forgot to introduce myself! I'm Nicolai Dream, the son of alpha Klaus. I have two older alpha brother in line to be the heir. Since I am really good at fighting, to not waste my talent, I am going to join your pack as a warrior as from next week! Nice to meet you" He introduced and Lake shook his hand

"Ah, so you were not a creep. I'm Lake, surprisingly the beta of the pack" He said before looking at the warrior in repulse when he pecked the back of his hand

"The fuck, I'm not a princess" Lake muttered in disgust and Nicolai laughed

"So Lake, do you have anyone you're interested in?" Nicolai asked curiously and Lake rolled his eyes

"Certainly not you" He replied flatly and Nicolai placed his hand on his chest

"Ouch, you hurt my soul" He muttered dramatically making Lake sigh

"God, I'll say it again, why do I attract weirdos?"

Kairos' focus

The week went by slower than Kairos expected and the alpha was kind of restless.

He wanted a sign from the demon wolf to know if Bailey would accept him or not but, the wolf wasn't there when needed!

Today, he was going to New moon pack to finalise things with their alpha.

When he heard that the alpha had triplets with the youngest not being able to use his ability, he knew that he had to have him. 

One of the triplets was going to be the future pack alpha and the second, a lead alpha warrior. The third one was as strong as the lead warrior but his luck sucked and he was born as the youngest by one minute.

The alpha of Newmoon pack agreed to send his son to Kairos' pack in condition that he is made the leader of the main warriors. Kairos has ten army of wolves, each one with a leader but he needed one superior leader.

He had talked with the pack and nearly all of them agreed on having a superior leader

The alpha's third son was perfect in build. Furthermore, since he was the son of a pack alpha, he was also trained to perform the duties of an alpha.

If the need to take his place ever arises, Kairos was sure that the warrior would be of good use.

"Alpha Kairos, welcome to my pack. My son is currently sleeping, please forgive him, he had a rough night" The alpha apologised and Kairos raised an eyebrow

What can count as a rough night?

The door opened and two identical men with curly black hair and pale blue eyes entered the room.

"Alpha Kairos" They said in unison, nodding their head making Kairos nod back

"These are my two sons, Nick and Nicolas. Nick is the alpha and Nicolas, my second born is the lead warrior. Nicolai is the youngest triplet and he's going to arrive soon. He's also different from them with brown hair and green eyes like his mother" The alpha explained and Kairos nodded

First impression was already bad

Kairos thought until the door opened and a man with swollen cheeks entered the room

He didn't look like he was doing good...

Kairos thought.

"Alpha Kairos, please excuse me for being late. Let's just say, I'm never going to patrol near wasps in the future" He mumbled, rubbing his cheeks and Kairos nodded slowly

Oh......I guess I'll take that as a good explanation as to why he was late!

"Animals hate me, I am sorry" He apologised in defeat and Kairos nodded with a blank expression, secretly wanting to laugh at the third born

Tsk, loser!

Kairos thought until his wolf reminded him that Bailey might not accept him because he was the biggest loser.

"I'm just here to confirm if you were going to send your son in 3 days as we had planned" Kairos said, straight to the point and the former alpha nodded

"Of course, we haven't changed our decision. Do you have anything to say to the alpha, Nicolai?" The former alpha asked and the third son rubbed his neck

"Um.. Where's your beta?" He asked, peeking Kairos' interest

"He has some work to do and was unable to come. Is that a problem, Nicolai?" Kairos asked and Nicolai quickly shook his head

"No,I was just wondering. It would be humiliating if he saw me in such state" He mumbled to himself and Kairos was amused

Oh, so they have met before?

Interesting!

"Anyways, I'm going to head back, I know the way out" Kairos said after having a small discussion

"Nonsense, my two older sons will accompany you out. Nicolai, go to the doctor again, you were attacked by the whole nest! Would that be a problem, alpha Kairos?" The former alpha inquired hesitantly

"What problem?" Kairos asked in confusion

"Somehow, he is cursed. Animals hate him for no reason" The former alpha replied with a sigh and Kairos shook his head in amusement

"It doesn't matter" He replied before heading out

"So alpha Nick, what do you think about your brother joining my pack?" Kairos asked curiously

"If it was up to me, I would have never allowed such a thing" Nick replied coldly

"And why is that? You don't trust that your brother is good enough?" Kairos asked in confusion and Nick nodded

"That's right, I don't think he's capable enough. He's useless and he'll only bring you down. I would have refused the offer if I were you" Nick replied with a shrug

What a disgusting brother...

Kairos thought

"He's obviously lying. Please forgive him, alpha Kairos. He has a brother complex and he doesn't want his little brother to go away from him, specially with how many times he nearly died from animal attacks" Nicolas explained and Nick cleared his throat, his ears turning red.

Kairos figured that the alpha was embarrassed because, he didn't deny such accusations. The alpha looked like someone snatched his favourite thing from him

I take what I said, that's adorable.

Kairos thought to himself

'Tsk, you and your weird fetish for cute things' His wolf teased

"I'm convinced that Nicolai will do a good job. While Nick focused on being an alpha and I, a warrior, Nicolai learnt both. He's also really sociable unlike us and I'm pretty sure he'll win your pack's affection " Nicolas answered

Hm, they really love the youngest son, don't they? From that, Kairos knew that Nicolai would certainly have a good personality

It was finally the day of the proposal and Kairos was really nervous

"Stop worrying, let's just go there and we'll see what happens. The worst that can happen is that you'll probably face the humiliation of being rejected after rejecting 27 proposals" Lake taunted, patting Kairos' back and the latter glared at him making Lake smirk

"Oh yes, that's the expression I love to see on you! Just like when you annoy me" Lake exclaimed cheerfully and Kairos sighed

"Thanks for supporting me" He mumbled and Lake smirked

"No problem" Lake replied

"By the way, I just remembered something. I think someone is interested in you, can you tell me about it?" Kairos asked and Lake rolled his eyes

"Please, every creep is interested in me. I always attract trouble like old men or psychos" Lake replied

"I think the person interested in you is a good guy" Kairos replied back and Lake crossed his arms

"I disagree. So, who's that person?" Lake asked

"I refuse to tell you" Kairos teased and Lake sighed

"I don't wanna know anyway" He replied with an eyeroll and Kairos smirked

"You sure?" Kairos teased

"Ugh finee, tell me!! At least give me a hint" Lake whined

"A hint? He was stung by a wasp" Kairos replied, enjoying the tease

"How is that a hint?" Lake asked in confusion and Kairos laughed

"That's all you get" Kairos taunted

"Oh, that hint was enough" Lake replied confidently.

"What, no! There's no way you know I'm talking about- Ooo you got me, you nearly made me spill it" Kairos scoffed and Lake sighed

"Tsk, I tried. Bitten by wasp? How is that a hint-" Kairos watched as Lake's expression turned into realisation

Lake suddenly laughed in triumph.

The fuck? Has he lost his sanity?

Kairos thought in confusion

"Um.. You okay bro? It's fine, I'll tell! Don't go crazy on me" Kairos said in worry

"Ni-Nicolai, that silly man!" Lake replied in amusement, clutching his hips and Kairos narrowed his eyes

"How did you meet with Nicolai!? Where did you meet him? How do you know him?? He even asked for you" Kairos inquired and Lake shrugged

"Just a random creep who approached me" Lake answered in defence and Kairos crossed his arms

"The guy from 15 minutes ago who flirted with you, what's his name?" Kairos asked and Lake frowned

"Uh kellin?" He replied

"It's Kevin, not Kellin! How about yesterday? There was a hot beta who was interested in you. What's his name?" Kairos asked

"Jackson?" Lake answered or rather, questioned

"Jason, it's Jason! You always forget the names of guys who hit on you, so, why do you remember Nicolai?" Kairos asked and Lake looked away

"I have no idea what you're talking about" He scoffed and Kairos rolled his eyes

"Sure you don't" Kairos exclaimed
