Jack bursts open the doors to the captains quarters. Farron looks up from his desk and Jack with rage in his eye. Jack pulls out a gun and points it at Farrons face.
"You are going to tell me everything you know. Or I'm blow your god damn head off." Jack says with anger in his voice.
Farron gets up from his seat and proceeds to approach Jack. Jack keeps his eyes and gun pointed at Farron. Before Jack could react, Farron quickly snatches the gun away from Jack before the human could blink. Jack is surprised to see the gun vanish from his hand and into Farrons hands.
"If you wanted answers, you could have just asked. Have a seat." Says Farron as he unloads the gun and puts it on his desk.
Jack and Farron sit down in their respective seats. Farron pulls out some files related to the republic. Jack takes the files and is shocked by what he saw.
"This can't be true. How is this possible? How did nobody see the warning signs?!" Jack says with viscous disbelief.
"I assume you are aware of the concept of democratic backsliding?" Asks Farron.
"I'm familiar with it. The idea of democracies regressing into more authoritarian societies. But I would have never thought the republic was susceptible to it." Says Jack.
"Correct. However, its not so much that the republic is backsliding but more so that humanity is. Nationalism and authoritarian sympathies are on the rise on Earth and we're worried this will lead to the collapse of the republic." Says Farron.
Jack looks deeper into the files and finds an incident report. It mentions five pilots that were ambushed and killed by federation forces. Jack looks through the names and sees his among the names. Jack slowly pieces it together that the mission he was sent on all those years ago was a setup. It would appear Jack and his former team knew the truth and were silenced. In disbelief, Jack lays back on his seat unable to fully process what he had discovered.
"So thats it huh? All we've worked for. All we've been fighting for was for nothing?" Says Jack.
"Not quite. You see, the sauren, aquarians, and avians are aware of this and have devised a plan. A plan to ensure democracy throughout the galaxy. For this plan to work though, we need a rebellion. A resistance movement capable of achieving this goal." Says Farron.
Jack thinks for a moment. He thinks about his former team, his friends, and the crew of the humpback. Jack get up from his seat and hands back the files.
"A resistance huh? Alright. Where do we start Captain." Say Jack, accepting the offer.
Soon after, Jack leaves the captains quarters and is confronted by Sierra and Xel. Sierra and Xel ask Jack about what happened in the captains quarters. Jack proceeds to explain everything that Farron told him.
