Chapter 2

Last thing that I remembered before collapsing was those cold eyes that were gazing at me


"w-where am I wha-t hh-happened "


my eyes opened a little and I saw a black blurry figure


"Am I being carried to somewhere "


"Where?"


And I fell unconscious again


....,.....


"Whats going on, why is it so warm, shouldn't it be winter "


Huh??


My eyes opened widely and I realized I was looking at a unfamiliar ceiling i tried to get up from the warm bed


" what's this ! My back hurts?"


"Don't get up"


I heard a unfamiliar voice ,and when I looked at the direction in which the voice was coming from.


I saw.....


A man with dark black hair,


black eyes with a small hint of red,


he had a handsome yet a little Cute face


he was wearing all black..


But those eyes when I looked in them it reminded me of that cold glare


"You have severe injuries on the back for some reason, its better to stay down till you have recovered" he said


ofcourse I knew what was the reason but I couldn't bring my self to tell this man,


I was hesitant to speak but I somehow got myself to say something,


"I-I"


"Dont stress yourself the doctor will come again tommorow just rest, you don't have to explain anything since ill leave once you've recovered"


Before I could say anything  he spoke and although it was in a cold tone he was actually being considerate of me


But why doesn't he want to know?


(Flashback to when lisa was unconscious )


The man was Carying Lisa and was running very fast to a nearby village since there were no clinics in the nobleman jusper joiner's domain

After reaching the clinic he opened the door in a Hurry and said


"Where is the doctor,   this woman is in a very serious state!"


and a doctor came quickly and brought her to a room and started treating her wound


And the man outside the room looking through the glass window noticed that the doctor was surprised while treating her


Doctor came out after treatment and asked


"Young man who are you to this woman, are you the one who did this to her"


The man replied


"I believe I should first introduce myself,


I'm Lugh, when I was in joiners domain for a bandit extermination quest I found her in the forest surrounded by bandits by the time I dealt with bandits she had lost consciousness and since there are no clinics in that domain I brought her here"


After listening to lugh the doctor thought for a while and said


"I understand, is she a missing person?,if she is not then what was she doing surrounded by bandit


Hmmm


By any chance is she  a slave of those bandits"


The moment doctor brought this up lugh's expression changed from his normal one to a serious one


the atmosphere in the room became serious and cold the doctor broke out in a cold sweat,


She knew at that moment she stepped over her boundry and shouldn't ask any further


Lugh spoke up breaking the  silence and said


"I want to know if she ll be fine"


The doctor still terrified spoke while stuttering a little


"Yes she'll be f-fne ,actually its quite the miracle , but I dont know about her trauma, she could end up with a mental breakdown"


Lugh thought

; the doctor has realized that this girl is a masterless slave i need to move fast, i want to know something from this girl i can't let her go"


Masterless slave: a slave who has lost its owner is either killed or sent to the church, people think that those slaves who have been sent to the church are lucky, but thats completely bogus, those who have been sent to the church continue ther remaining life slaving away.


Then lugh asked the doctor


"So when will she wake up"


The doctor said


"She should be able to wake up soon"


(End of flasback ;back to  2 days later)


"How are you feeling"


Lugh asked to Lisa


She replied with low voice


"Except for a little backpain nothing much....actually I fell even better than before"


Hearing this lugh showed a smile,


which was completely different from his normal behavior


but even then he was very good looking such that  Lisa skipped a heart beat


Lisa thought


"Woow!, WHAT IS  WITH HIS SMILE HOW IS HE SO GOOD LOOKING "


As she was thinking this lugh said while sighing


"They finally came huh"


Confused lisa was going to ask lugh

what he meant,


suddenly she heard rushing footsteps coming from outside of the room and suddenly room's door was opened with a bang, and they said


"WE ARE FROM THE HOLY ORDER OF KNIGHTS AND WE HEARD THAT A MASTERLESS SLAVE IS STAYING HERE"


Looking at them lisa was terrified and her breathing became heavy

The holy knight's then said


"Oh, there you are little girl"


"you poor thing having suffer so much"


"but dont worry we the holy knight's will take you to the church and give you a better life"


Then the knight said to lugh


"Oh young man you did well protecting this girl she is now in safe hands"


He said while walking towards the bed


Lisa was horrified as the man got closer she started to back down slowly fearfully


The man got closer to Lisa and reached his hand out to grap Lisa


Terrified Lisa closed her eyes


Lisa's thoughts;

" why, why, I thought I finally could do something with my life, but I am being send back to that place"


As Lisa was think this the guard said


"What are you doing kid"?


Hearing this Lisa opened her eyes and saw the guards hand had been stopped,


and it was none other than lugh who had grabbed the guards hand,


she was shocked, but the guard was furious,


as guard was about to shout at lugh for grabbing and stopping a holy knight's hand


Lugh said


"Masterless Slave?, who are you talking about"


The guard said with loud noise


"What are u playing at kid ?, didn't I just said that this girl is a masterless slave,


are you opposing the church's order just because you have a crush on her because she is pretty"


Hearing this lugh posed a confident smile and said


"This girl?, she is not a masterless slave"


All of the people in the room were confused

Including Lisa and and the doctor who was sneaking outside the room


Lisa couldn't understand what lugh was saying


Then the guard said in a loud voice


" huh what did u say huh kid?, Do u want to get punished for lying and opposing a knight"


Lugh then replied


"Punishment, me?, i don't think that will happen since this girl is mine"


Dead silence covered the room


Lisa looked very confused


The guards were very very confused


But the guard then said


"Do u seriously expect me to believe tha--"


The guard was cut off as lugh show's him the slave contract proving that he is indeed ithe master of Lisa


Lisa couldn't belive her eyes


The knight thought


"This slave contract is real, how tho, I heard she was masterless then how,


Wait isn't he"


And knight' said


"Kid what age are you "


Lugh replied saying


"Im fifteen"


The knight grinning and said


"You are underage,you cant own a slave of your own kid, and here in this contract it says your name so its not your guardian who owns her, then she is masterless"


Lugh still smiling confidently said


"I thought my age didn't matter as long as I was a noble"


The guard turned pale as lugh shows him silver insignia proving he holds a noble rank,


everyone got down on knee to lugh to show respect


The guard had no choice but to leave


"You are a noble ??"


Lisa asked


Before Lugh could reply to lisa

The doctor came in hurry and got down on his knees to show respect to lugh and said


"I am very sorry sir I didn't knew you were a noble and that she was your slave  please forgive my nosiness in your business "


"I am sorry!!!"


And the doctor sprinted out of the room at full speed


; WHAT A SPEED "
Lugh thought



"Are you seriously my master?"


Lisa asked with sadness in her eyes


And lugh replied


"No"


Then  Lisa said


"I see i guess I have to be sla"


She was confused as to what lugh was saying, and asked him

"What do u mean"


"I don't want a slave" lugh said


" Then why did you make me your"


" you can live your life the way you want if you were to pretend to be a normal person no one will find out, as for your manaless body which symbolizes that you are slave , Can easily be resolve if I were to share it"




Tears started going down my cheeks the moment I realized I could live my life freely

I couldn't control myself and burst out crying, thinking those years of perseverance weren't for nothing

As to comfort me lugh hugged ne and I realized


That he who had eye's that felt colder than the snow had a very warm heart....
