"What happened to Bailey?" Lake asked in worry as Kairos called him and Nicolai in an isolated room.

"I don't have time to explain but I want you, Nicolai, to take care of the pack in my absence. I have already talked to some members who would inform others. No one should know what happened to Bailey, okay? I don't want any words to spread because his aunt is pregnant and we don't want them to worry. I am currently going to meet someone who can help me. If anybody ask you, tell them that I took Bailey out because he was angry at me for drinking too much. I count on you to take care of this pack, understood?" Kairos explained and Nicolai nodded solemnly

"Yes alpha, I'll do my best!" Nicolai replied, his back straight and arms behind his back.

"I have to go now. I already inform King about it and he'll help you. Consider King as a second alpha, okay? You can trust him" Kairos added

"Yes alpha" Nicolai replied as Kairos hurriedly went out

"He'll be okay, Kairos! I also found something, apparently...our drinks were spiked" King said hesitantly and Kairos frowned

"What? How?" Kairos asked in confusion and King sighed

"I don't want to question the loyalty of your pack but....I think someone betrayed you" King said in hesitation and Kairos froze

"I don't believe it... I can't believe anyone from this pack will" Kairos replied firmly

"It's either one of your pack member or an outsider which is....me" King pointed out and Kairos shook his head

"Don't be ridiculous! If you wanted to take over my pack, you would have done it the day my parents died. They clearly want me and targeted Bailey. I trust you with my life and you know it! I know you wouldn't betray my trust" Kairos said softly, proud to have a friend like King.

King has helped him manage the pack in the past when his parents had died. King was 20 at that time while Kairos was only 15. King taught him so many things and had always cared for him. He's like the big brother Kairos never had.

"The pack is now in the hand of Nicolai, please guide him like you guided me. I have a request...can you please stay and help me while I'm out? I'll appreciate it if you could stay here until my arrival" Kairos asked and King nodded

"Of course, you can count on me! Don't worry, I'll take care of things" King promised and Kairos nodded in relief

"Thank you King. I am heading out now," Kairos exclaimed, shifting into his wolf to run towards the place of the portal

King watched Kairos go and sighed 

Hmm, what a pain...I was planning on returning to my pack and prepare things but now...I have to stay and help him! But it's okay, I'll do anything for my future mate!! Kairos...you did a mistake by mating with someone other than me.

The first thing to do is to isolate you. You are so proud of your friends....right? I'll turn them against you so that you can only depend on me, just like I already took care of your mate.

King thought sinisterly.

Nicolai and Lake

"I am really worried right now. I have no clue what's happening, how did things turn like it?" Lake questioned sadly, staring at a lifeless Bailey and Nicolai sighed

"Same. I can't see him like this" Nicolai whispered in pain

"It will be fine. You have to stay strong and manage the pack" King said, entering the room and Nicolai bowed politely

"Alpha King, thank you for being here when we need help" Nicolai said politely 

"No need for thanks, It's my duty to help you all" King informed 

"At least, Kairos made a friend like you." Lake mumbled

"Come on Nicolai, let's go the alpha's office, I need to brief you on some stuff" King said 

"Yes alpha" Nicolai replied, following King to the office

"Sit down first. Nicolai,you didn't have anything to do with what happened to the luna...right?" King asked as soon a they closed the door of Kairos' office and Nicolai frowned, clenching his fist sa his loyalty was being questioned by a stranger.

"Why would you think that?" Nicolai asked in anger

"Don't play dumb, Nicolai. Kairos doesn't trust you either- oh... I shouldn't have said that" King hissed, as if he made a mistake and Nicolai paused

"What?" Nicolai asked in shock and King sighed

"Since you know it, I'll tell you anyway. I don't really need Kairos to die or anything because I've known him for 12 years now. He has been my friend for years now and I've never done anything to him! You, on the other hand; it's been two months since you arrived and there's already problems in the pack. If kairos died, it will definitely benefit you the most" King explained and Nicolai growled in anger

"Take back what you said, right now!" Nicolai yelled in frustration and King sighed

"Listen, I'm just trying to understand things myself. Kairos told me to keep an eye on you and I'm doing my job. How can I trust you when the alpha doesn't either? I'm just doing the job Kairos gave me" King said casually and Nicolai's heart broke at that

"Alpha doesn't trust me and thinks that I'm the betrayer?" Nicolai whispered to himself and King patted his head

Hm... He's kinda cute, fun to play with.

King thought to himself.

"I'm sure he means no harm. He's just shocked, okay?" King reassured and Nicolai nodded slowly

"I'm heading to my room now, okay? Don't take what I said personally" King replied, laughing in embarassement

"Why doesn't the alpha trust me?" Nicolai whispered to himself as King smirked, going out

Tsk, so easy.

King thought in triumph.

Nicolai sighed in defeat, clenching his chest

"What did I do to deserve this? If the alpha doesn't trust me, what's the point of staying here?" Nicolai thought

After 15 minutes of running, Kairos finally reached an isolated plain field with a portal in the middle. He shifted back and climbed the stairs. Transforming his hand into a claw, he scratched his other hand and allowed blood to spill on the formula on the ground. As sson as he did, the portal activated and he stepped inside

The ground started shaking and a piercing sound made him cry in pain. Seconds later, the intense noise stopped and the blinding light disappeared. When he opened his eyes, he found himself inside a circle drawn on the ground

"Welcome to my humble Abode" A cranky voice said and Kairos looked around to see a short boy with pointy ears, purple eyes and green hair

"To your right, we have your  mate!" He exclaimed and Kairos immediately looked to his right to see an unconscious Bailey laying on the ground

"Bailey? Bailey!" Kairos yelled and the boy chuckled

"He can't hear you, Kairos! No one can hear you in here! He is inside a circle that blocks any connection from the outside world. You can't communicate with him, even with your demon wolf. I should add that you cannot go out of the circle you're in. It's a barrier that traps your powers. If you try to step out, your wolf will be burnt, just like the chain with what he was held before you found him" The boy explained with a silly laugh, irritating Kairos who was so close to tear his own ears

"Even with my demon wolf?" Kairos asked in confusion and the boy nodded

"Even with your demon wolf" He repeated

So...Who's gonna tell him?

Kairos thought to himself and he paused when he heard a soft laugh inside his head

"How embarassing, he placed us inside the wrong circle!!" Bailey, with the help of Nameless said inside Kairos' head.

The alpha wanted to smile but he dared not. He could only close his lips tight to prevent himself from smiling. The magic circle was really complicated to draw and  needed a lot of energy. It probaby took the elf at least a month to draw it but..poor him..It's such a waste.

'I am glad you're fine, Bailey'

Some hours ago

Dear alpha Kairos, I currently have the soul of your mate in my possession. This pendant you see is a cursed artefact that absorb magic so, don't ever think of using magic to cure him. If you do so, his lifeless body would disintegrate on the spot. I have in my possession an antidote that will cure his body from the poison. I can nullify the ability of the pendant and return his soul back but....For that, there's a price to pay. I left a portal open at xxxxx, you just have to enter it.....alone"

I can't lose time, I have to hurry and find him!

"Bailey, I'll save you" Kairos said to himself in regret, wiping his tears

'I'm sorry for not reassuring you earlier, sweet alpha! It's a punishment for leaving me alone yesterday' A voice said inside Kairos' head and he froze, looking at the lifeless body of Bailey

'Ugh, step away from that thing! It's not my body, it's a puppet with an illusion that make it seem human!' Bailey explained in disgust and Kairos stared at his hand in confusion

"Where are you?" Kairos asked to himself

'I'm alive! I am trapped inside a weird circle that doesn't allow people to communicate but Nameless is the demon wolf.. Do as the letter says and come find me! I'll explain everything later! I am a bit weak right now, so I will have to go. Don't worry, I am completely fine! Nameless wants to find out about the elf's intention. He can only read human/werewolf's mind, not elves. Hurry and find me"

"What do you want from me?" Kairos asked the elf, s ataring at the unconscious Bailey on the ground

"It's very simple, I want your wolf" The boy r aeplied Kairos frowned

"My wolf?" Kairos asked

'Reply with : 'He's a part of me! How can I give him to you?' Nameless ordered

"But he's a part of me! How can I give him to you?" Kairos asked, repeating what Nameless ordered and the elf laughed, as if he found something amusing

"Part of you? Dear demon wolf, I know you can hear me! The reason why I'm here is because I found a way to separate you from your human! As your curse stated, one day, someone will be a vessel through which you can live on earth again. However, I know that you hate humans, demon wolves, I can free you from this human, forever! I can separate you from his body" The boy exclaimed excitedly and Bailey's eyes opened

"You can free me... forever?" A deep voice asked from Bailey's body and shocked, the elf turned towards Bailey who walked outside the circle

"Come here Kairos, you don't have any magic, the circle won't harm you" Nameless explained and Kairos did as he was asked

"How did you get out?" The elf asked in shock

Nameless chuckled darkly, loving the fear in the boy's eyes

"Silly elf...your'e so stupid! You put us in the wrong circle. Kairos isn't the one with the demon wolf....Bailey is. You think you trapped us? Think again! We willingly came here because we wanted to know your plan" Nameless said in distaste

Even if Bailey would have been trapped inside the circle Kairos was in, nothing would have happened. People seemed to misunderstand the power of the demon wolf.

"I-It doesn't matter! Don't you want to be free?" the elf asked, looking around for a way to escape

"Oh...don't tell me that you're waiting for King to rescue you?" Nameless said in amusement making the elf froze

"You made a pact with King, right? You were going to remove the demon wolf from Kairos and when Kairos would have turned into a human, king would have forced him to mate with him. You get the wolf, King gets to have Kairos! King promised to have your back, right? Come on, call him!" Namless exclaimed in joy and the elf closed his eyes, mumbering something under his breath. It seems that whatever he wanted to do did not work because he opened his eyes in irritation before stomping his foot on the ground

"Why isn't it working?" He yelled

"What's not working?" Kairos asked in confusion

"Elves have the power of teleportation but, it only works if they have consent of a second party. That is, King entered your pack, correct? King was his 'consent' to be able to teleport to your pack and kidnap Bailey. You know the myth about vampires needing permission to enter the house of someone?" Namless explained and Kairos nodded

"It's fiction, right? " Kairos asked and Nameless chuckled

"No, it's just wrong. Elves are the one who need permission to teleport into a place! While you were drugged and slept, the elf teleported into your pack and took Bailey. Of course, Bailey faked being unconscious! However, right now, the elf doesn't have permission to teleport" Nameless exclaimed

"Why don't I have permission? King and I made a pact! He already gave me his consent to teleport!" The elf exclaimed

"The consent only works if the person's brain is active. How can you have the consent of someone who is unconscious?" Nameless teased and Kairos realised what happened

"Oh, I get it now.It seems that Lake and Nicolai did a good job!"
