Okay the flashback wasn’t as dramatic, but it was still one of the most unexpected things that I had experienced in motherhood. The first few notes had made my chest tighten and I saw a clear image of newborn Nathan in his crib, with the mobile running, in our dark bedroom. A second later the memory was gone, leaving a mix of anxiety and melancholy.
It was so weird.
