They then entered the dining hall, the aroma of roasted human baby livers wafted through the air. Ji-a wrinkled his nose in disgust at the cheap, store-brand quality, but he couldn't deny that the dish looked tempting. He sat down at the head of the table, with Hyeon-U taking a seat to his right.
The dinner was a grand affair, with a long table set with silverware, crystal glasses, and a black tablecloth. Takeda-san ordered the liver and blood wine for everyone, ignoring Ji-a's protests about the cuisine. The Satyr himself indulged in the delicacies with relish, making approving noises as he ate.
The table was also adorned with black candles and a beautiful silver candelabra that cast eerie shadows on the walls. Takeda-san took his seat at the far end of the table, wiping sweat from his forehead with a handkerchief.
As they began to eat, the conversation turned to their collaboration project. Takeda-san explained that The Order of The Fly had selected a theme for the collaboration: "The Temptation of the Soul." Ji-a raised an eyebrow, intrigued but still skeptical.
Hyeon-U spoke up, his voice soft yet confident. "I think it's a powerful theme that can really showcase both of our unique styles. We can explore the different ways temptation can manifest in someone's life, and how it can ultimately lead to the corruption of their soul."
Ji-a nodded slowly, considering Hyeon-U's words carefully before he spoke. "It is a broad theme, but I suppose we can work with it," Ji-a replied, taking another bite of the roasted liver. "But we need to make sure our styles blend well together. New Age or Old Age, I won't compromise my sound for this collaboration."
Hyeon-U nodded in agreement, and the three of them continued to discuss the project over their meal.
"What do you think, Takada-san?" Ji-a asked, knowing he could be heard, as far away as they sat. He hummed and picked up a liver and popped it into his own mouth.
Takeda-san smiled looking at them both. "I think you two have the potential to create something truly incredible. But as with any collaboration, it will require compromise and communication. And of course, hard work," he said.
Ji-a grunted in agreement, his mind already churning with ideas. "I won't accept anything but perfection" He glanced at Hyeon-U, seeing the same determination in his eyes.
"Of course Ji-a! Whoa this looks so good!" Hyeon-U suddenly shouted excitedly as he sat down to really look at the meal presented before them.
Ji-a rolled his eyes at Hyeon-U's outburst, but couldn't help but feel a flicker of amusement. "Just don't get too distracted by the food, pup. We have work to do."
Hyeon-U grinned sheepishly, looking down at his plate. "Sorry, I just love trying new foods."
Ji-a snorted at him before taking a sip of blood wine. "You've never had roasted human baby livers, pup? This cheap shit."
At that, Hyeon-U piled his plate high with livers. "Cheap or not, I really like it! And not at all! Back at Clurch my, the higher up clowns get to eat the best parts of food brought back to feed the clans," Hyeon-U said as he finished filling his plate from the trays provided.
Ji-a watched his eyes sparkle as the younger demonia moved his head all the way around without turning in order to look at all the other demonia in the dining hall. They were all in their true forms, free from their human coworkers' prying eyes, demonia big and small, from ogres to killer dolls to tiny fairies with gnashing fangs. Every employee was getting their mandated lunch, the human employees were as well on the first floor.
Ji-a looked around as the other demonia feasted on the roasted livers, some even dipping their fingers into the blood wine and licking it off. He shook his head in disgust, not understanding their primal behavior. But he couldn't deny the satisfaction he felt as he bit into another juicy piece of liver.
As the meal came to an end, Takeda-san stood up and gestured for them to follow him. "Come with me, I have something to show you before I leave," he said, leading them out of the dining hall and down a dark, winding hallway. They passed by several closed doors before stopping in front of one that was slightly ajar and Takeda-san bid them good luck.
