After an hour, returning to the present, Light is running towards the north gate, thinking to himself, "What kind of magic will I have to face?"
Getting to the other gate doesn't take long, and Light knows the kingdom like the back of his hand.
All the shortcuts and cut paths make Light arrive in just a few minutes.
When Light arrives at the gate, he is faced with a scene that is about to be a disaster.
All four gate areas are the same; there are no buildings nearby, which allows the knights to roam freely.
Soldiers are running madly towards the gate madly, archers being hit by arrows, fireballs and wind cuts from the enemy, on the other side of the wall.
The soldiers try to hold the gate with their strength, and at first, it seems to work. But it's a matter of time before the enemy manages to overcome the forces of Legorio's soldiers.
The knights hold the gate while Marco's army forces entry. Light stands still, not knowing what to do. The gate appears to be being pushed with coordination from the other side.
But then, the gate stops being forced by the enemy side, and the soldiers stop holding it.
Confused, the soldiers look at each other, but they have no time to argue, as the gate is suddenly pushed with extreme force and cut into multiple pieces.
The soldiers are thrown back, and soon after, the enemies manage to set foot in Legorio for the first time, thus achieving the invaders' first victory.
The enemy army enters as if it were a herd of buffaloes running at high speed. In a matter of seconds, dozens of knights are murdered by the invaders' swords.
The enemies wear armor that is slightly less advanced than Legorio's. Their helmets do not have visors, and they do not use metal plates on their chests, only on their arms and legs.
The floor begins to be stained with blood.
Light just watches, in shock. The blood gushing from your allies and the brutality and violence before your eyes make your stomach turn.
The screaming is intense and incessant, like a vision of hell.
The enemies were superior because they were on horses, but not for long before the archers on the wall started shooting at the men.
All the criminals on the north side had passed through the line that separates the outside and inside the kingdom, except for one man riding a slender, white horse: Cris Fenece.
A man wearing a clean, white poncho cape. He has silvery, wavy hair, like angels portrayed in churches. His face is oval, and his chin is long. Its eyes are sharp, green and bright. He has a relatively young appearance, showing a big, bright smile.
Light is frozen, his eyes wide and his mouth slightly open.
He frees himself from these emotions by shaking his head, trying to ignore all the screams of people dying and fighting.
His breathing is heavy and uneven; his hand sweats, and sweat drips from his forehead. He lowers his head, not seeing the scene happening.
Light then looks ahead, as if he has already accepted what is happening around him, but he continues to be disturbed by the voices.
However, he manages to concentrate and focus on the only enemy who wears a different outfit. The one who probably broke the gate was the man on the white horse, Cris.
Light slowly takes his wand from his pocket and prepares to enter the battlefield. The boy was very lucky not to have been targeted by enemies while he was paralyzed.
On the other side of the kingdom, at the south gate, William and Yanma are surprised after the gate is blown up from the outside.
The allied soldiers are thrown by the explosion, while the invaders begin to enter like crazy, killing everything in sight.
William doesn't let himself be shaken, but he feels a fear deep down in his heart. While William is standing in the same place, Yanma advances towards the enemies.
A man catches the attention of William, who was a few meters away from the fight.
A man wearing a blue cloak on the outside and white on the inside. The man wears a white shirt underneath and black pants.
His eyes are sharp and brown, resembling Rodic's eyes in terms of seriousness. His hair is straight and black, and his skin is fair. That man is Saibur Vanderstorm, one of the main criminals in Marco's army, just like Cris.
William instinctively stays focused on Saibur, like a wolf watching its prey very slowly.
Yanma can defeat enemies easily, without having to make many movements. As she kills, more men approach to try to kill her like a swarm of bees.
At the west gate, Rodic helps the archers contain the advance of the troops; he launches roots that travel like iron spears through the sky, hitting the army of criminals.
But then, Rodic starts to see Marco conjuring a fireball. For a short while, it's just a normal fireball, until the mages riding on Marco's side start feeding the fire with their staffs and wands.
The fireball starts to grow and becomes large. Its glow is intense, and the fire rotates around its own axis. It's almost as if a sun had formed, just with magic.
Rodic makes an expression of disgust, while moving slightly backwards.
At the north gate, Light tries to quickly approach Cris, but he tries not to attract his attention.
Suddenly, an enemy starts running towards him. Light is shocked, and instinctively channels his mana to the ground, making earth spikes appear and pierce the feet of everyone within a 10-meter radius. (32,8ft)
Luckily, it seems that he didn't catch any allies, and the enemy that was going to kill Light groans in pain as he takes his feet out of the thorns.
Light continues advancing; more enemies appear trying to hurt him, but he pierces everyone's feet with his spike magic.
When Light is at a suitable distance to hit Cris, he begins to conjure an earth spike that comes from the ground.
The thorn grows and breaks the stone floor as it emerges, cracking and opening the surrounding soil.
The spike starts to spin at high speed. Light tries not to catch Cris's attention, who is just watching the battle while smoothing her hair.
At times, some knights try to kill Cris, but fail due to the beautiful reaction of the man on the white horse. He slices them without a care, with an oddly gentle smile on his face.
Light then throws the thorn towards Cris, aiming for her head!
The magic runs at an immense speed; anything that gets in front of it will be pierced!
An enemy soldier passes in front of the trajectory; his arm is violently ripped off. The man doesn't even have time to understand what happened; he just falls to the ground, feeling agonizing pain.
The thorn, however, continues its run towards Cris' head; it has lost some of its speed, but is still lethal.
Light's projectile reaches Cris; however, at the last second, Cris subtly moves his head, while raising his right hand, blocking the thorn from hitting his head, but letting it hit his hand!
"Tsk." Light clicks his tongue; this was the perfect opportunity, and now there will be no more openings like this.
