Ophelia stared feeling frozen where she was, Darius smiled leaning down finding her dumbfounded expression delightful based on his expression of pure glee alone. "Now isn't this a fun change of pace." He said happily. "Who would've thought you'd look so good on your knees?" He remarked reaching out and grazing his fingers against Ophelia's cheeks.
Ophelia's eyes widened before she narrowed them, not one to be bested by Darius she replied without hesitation. "I'm sure you'd look better." Darius who was just about to cup Ophelia's face froze and the two of them stared at each other. Ophelia felt smug when she saw his eyes widen for just a moment as if he couldn't believe the audacity she had.
Ophelia kept a relatively cool expression and cocked an eyebrow as if to say silently, 'What's the matter? Can't take what you dish out?' The surprised expression faded and laughter bubbled from Darius. He cupped her face with both hands as he leaned down in front of her. "You're so much fun Reeds." He told her in a hushed tone, they were nose to nose at this point.
It took everything in Ophelia not to close that gap between them. Darius moved a bit closer slowly kneeling in front of her slightly. "Say," His voice was a whisper at this point, "it's pretty cold isn't it?" He remarked, Ophelia then realized that it was in fact cold outside. Darius had her so flustered she hadn't even felt the chilling wind cutting through the camp. "Yeah." Ophelia agreed, Darius smiled softly. "Why don't you stay in my tent tonight?" He offered, "We'll get the quartermaster to look at your supplies in the morning." He spoke soothingly. "No sense of putting up a tent again if the stakes can't stay in the ground." His tone was sweet like honey but Ophelia heard a silent threat in his words.
If she didn't go to his tent, he'd kick the stakes out again. The omega was desperate for her attention, Ophelia smiled despite herself. He really didn't need to work that hard to get it. "Just for tonight," he mumbled leaning closer, their lips were brushing together at this point. Ophelia having just enough closed the gap kissing the commander softly. A happy hum came from the omega once their lips met. As Ophelia pulled back Darius's eyes were half-lidded and a pleased smile was on his lips.
"Just for tonight," Ophelia replied in a quiet tone, Darius's eyes glittered with delight hearing her agree. Ophelia eyed him and smirked, "With how pleased you look I'm beginning to think you collapsed my tent on purpose commander." Ophelia said softly as they pulled away from each other. Darius took a step back and hid the stake behind his back. "Reeds." he chided, "now where would you get such a ridiculous idea?" He questioned in a flirty tone.
"Truly it was a divine message from God," Ophelia replied sarcastically, Darius laughed as Ophelia managed to free herself from her tent. Ophelia reached back in grabbing her hairbrush and axe just in case. As she stood to her full height she heard a sigh come from Darius. She glanced over at him confused and he cupped his face looking disappointed. "What a shame, I kind of liked having you at eye level."
Ophelia stuffed her brush and axe into a bag and adjusted the strap. "Don't worry you'll be at eye level again soon enough." She replied, "Why's that?" Darius questioned still holding the stake to her tent in his hand. "I'll have found something sturdy to pin you against," Ophelia replied shamelessly. It was then Darius's turn to have a dumbfounded look on his face.
He blinked a few times and looked at her with an amazed expression, "You've always got a one-liner to say in response don't you Reeds?" Darius asked looking more impressed than anything else, "Well when you don't talk much you have plenty of time to think of them." Ophelia replied casually as she stretched a bit. Darius snorted, "Well then, come along Reeds, I'm sure we can find better uses for that mouth of yours in my tent." Darius remarked turning and walking towards his tent. "We might even be able to find a use for yours too." Ophelia retorted following after him.
In the silence of the night walking through the sleeping imperial camp. Ophelia noticed that somehow Darius managed to arrange their meeting in such a way that none of the soldiers on watch could see them walking to his tent together. She was sure that either he knew the patrol schedules or had set it up to where they weren't in this area. The latter was unlikely, in the short time Ophelia was in the Imperial army, she learned quickly just how meticulous Darius truly was. The little man planned for everything, it was impressive to Ophelia who tended to be more opportunistic.
The two of them walked casually beside each other, anyone passing by would only find the time of day of their being together unusual. There was nothing else to indicate what was going to happen between them once they got to Darius's tent. It wasn't the first time Ophelia gave company to an omega at night. Many omegas in Flat Trench preferred it, finding that families and other suitors wouldn't be able to stop them if they waited for just the right moment.
While it wasn't anything new, anticipation itched at Ophelia's nerves, she glanced over at Darius wondering if he felt the same. But she wasn't able to tell, Darius expression was calm, and Ophelia knew hers was much the same despite how she felt. Whether it was from Darius seeing no need to visibly express how he felt or... If he was used to doing this sort of thing. Ophelia couldn't tell but it wasn't like it mattered.
A man as beautiful as Darius was bound to have a few lovers in his past at the very least. Ophelia had a short list of one-time and repeat bedfellows herself. Despite that, this situation still felt different because of who it was. While Ophelia was attracted to Darius, just like she talked about with Lionel, almost every recruit was attracted to Darius. Of course, Ophelia's attraction went beyond just his looks. It often felt fun and stimulating to get to go back and forth with Darius. It challenged Ophelia in ways she had never been challenged before.
She also ended up talking more than she ever did otherwise. But for some reason, she just couldn't keep her mouth shut around Darius. Something that Ophelia had never been like in the past. More often than not she found talking to be tedious but with Darius... Ophelia didn't want to lose to him during their verbal sparring. Ophelia found herself smiling thinking of some of the things they said to each other.
Now that she thought about it even Lionel would be able to tell they were attracted to each other. But Lionel would be the only one to actually have the gall to call the situation for what it was too.
A nudge to her side brought Ophelia out of her thoughts. She looked over at Darius who cocked an eyebrow at her quietly. Ophelia, mindful of Darius's size compared to her, gently nudged back rather than saying anything. A smile formed on the omega's lips as he repeated his action, and the two of them bumped into each other the rest of the way to Darius's tent.
As they approached Darius's tent, Ophelia realized if Darius didn't point it out, she would've had no clue which one was his. His tent looked no different than any other in the camp. Even size alone would make Ophelia mistake it for an officer's tent or a supply tent. Ophelia suspected this may have been a security measure to make sure it wasn't so easy to find Darius. The omega opened the flap stepping inside only glancing behind him once. Ophelia followed him inside soon after.
Inside Darius's tent, Ophelia noticed the high-quality yet lightweight objects in his tent. He had a desk and chair made out of cedar a sturdy yet light wood. Ophelia also noticed he had a full-sized bed rather than a bed roll. She nearly laughed now understanding why Darius didn't just sneak his way into hers. She wondered vaguely how sturdy that would be... The frame looked like it was made from metal rather than wood. So it may hold up despite possible abuse later on. She then spotted an open crate that served as both a bookshelf and a stand where a candle sat.
Darius slipped off his jacket as Ophelia looked around. He walked over putting it on his chair near his desk. Ophelia took that moment to take the bag that had her brush and axe with some other items stuffed in there already off. Ophelia setting the bag down in a corner stood back up to her full height just as Darius approached.
"Bend down." He said reaching up for her, Ophelia did so curiously. She had barely got nose-to-nose with him when Darius kissed her. Ophelia wrapped her arms around him, and she heard Darius hum into the kiss. He tasted sweet like maple-glazed ham. Ophelia believed he may have eaten this for dinner, she remembered the smell of ham being cooked by the chef.
Ophelia lifted Darius off the ground as they kissed, his legs wrapped tightly around her waist. Making her way over to his desk, Ophelia sat him on top of it kissing him even still. Darius untied her hair causing the curls to flow freely. He sat the tie to the side before burying his hands deep in her hair. The two of them kissed heatedly, Ophelia would be lying if she said she didn't feel relief finally kissing Darius.
It was an itch she didn't even know she had but now that she did it. It was hard to stop. Soft moans came from both of them as their tongues explored each other's mouths. Hearing Darius begin to gasp for air and feeling the need herself, Ophelia pulled away. Although not without resistance from the omega.
A pout was on his lips when Ophelia moved away. He seemed displeased with her stopping, Ophelia took a breath about to explain but Darius spoke. "I thought you'd be a bit more eager." he complained, Ophelia gave him a dirty look, "well not everyone is turned on by me killing five people," Ophelia replied in a haughty tone as she pushed the hair from her face that had fallen that way from Darius untying her hair. Darius chuckled leaning towards her and pecking her lips.
"Don't misunderstand Reeds." He purred lowly, "I like power and strength." Darius removed one of his hands from her hair and ran it down her arm. She saw desire grow in his eyes as his fingers grazed her muscular figure. She heard a shaky breath leave him as his hands ran across her wrist. "Other people just don't know how to appreciate it." He hummed to himself before grabbing her hand. He loosened Ophelia's grip on his waist and brought it up kissing the top of it as he looked at Ophelia with a heated gaze.
Ophelia felt her face heat up and Darius grinned delightedly at her reaction. "You're just the same as me though." He teased reaching up and cupping her face. He kissed her cheek affectionately before leaning into her ear. "You like the power I have." he purred softly, Ophelia side-eyed him before wrapping her arms back around him. "I like that you challenge me," Ophelia replied turning her head to face him. They were nose to nose yet again. A relaxed expression was on Darius's face, he seemed to enjoy how close they were at the moment.
"The power is just a plus." She added with a slight smile, Darius kissed her again, greedily sucking at her tongue once he had it in his grip. Ophelia groaned softly pushing him down on the desk and pressing him harshly against it. She rubbed his thighs with her free hands squeezing gently, the omega clearly enjoyed the pressure and moaned into the kiss.
Ophelia rolled her hips into his, Darius's legs locked tightly around her and he pulled away from the kiss moaning and gasping. Ophelia moved her lips from his face sucking softly on his scent gland just under his tunic collar. She felt his pulse racing under her lips and his fingers dug sharply into her back past the fabric of her tunic.
She rolled them again and again, the omega softly moaned with pleasure in her ear. "That's good Reeds." he purred, Ophelia ran her tongue across his neck making him shiver under her. She chuckled softly finding the reaction amusing, "Now don't make fun of me." Darius huffed quietly. "You're just as sensitive there too," he remarked with a heated tone directly into her ear. "I'm just a loyal soldier commander. I would never dare laugh at you." Ophelia teased back quietly.
"Reeds." Darius sighed her name squeezing her in his arms. Ophelia rutted gently into him as he did. The desk creaked and Darius let out an annoyed groan. "We should move to the bed before this damn flimsy thing breaks." He spoke quietly. Ophelia chuckled once more and kissed his ear, "I'll find something more sturdy later then." She replied, "What are you going to build me a new desk?" Darius asked sounding amused clinging to her as she moved off of the desk. "If I can fuck you on top of it sure," Ophelia replied speaking directly into his ear much like Darius had been hers. "I was mostly meaning finding something sturdy to pin you against." She confessed, "I would've done that earlier had we been alone." She referenced earlier that day.
Ophelia stood up holding Darius in her arms, as she did, Darius shifted and eyed her. "The strategy tent's map table is much more sturdy." He remarked with a coy expression. Ophelia chuckled softly, "Maybe later." She responded walking over to the bed. Standing there she thought of just dropping Darius on the bed. But decided to set him down instead, Darius laughed at the gentleness she had placing him on the bed. But he didn't say anything, instead, he wrapped his arms around her neck and pulled her into the bed on top of him.
Ophelia barely kept herself from falling on top of Darius, the smaller man had a surprising amount of strength. Darius pulled her lower so they were nose to nose, a smirk was on his lips. "I would've got into bed if you waited." Ophelia chided, "I've been at my limit for a while now. I don't want to wait anymore." Darius replied sharply. "Limit?" Ophelia asked curiously, "It'll be seven months exactly tomorrow since you joined the army. I've waited long enough." Darius looked annoyed, "You're a damn hard person to corner." he cursed sneering at her. "Stupid old bastard." He huffed under his breath.
Ophelia gawked before laughing, it occurred to her just then why Lionel had passed along that Darius was trying to jump her. He had been keeping Darius away which explained the early morning and late night training at strange hours. The thoughts of a seething Darius managed to cause a laughing fit for her. Slowly calming down Ophelia leaned onto Darius having a few giggles escape her even still.
She caught sight of Darius's unreadable expression as she laid her head next his, with a smile on her lips and a laugh still lingering in her voice she asked. "What?" Darius smiled softly, "That's the first time I've heard you laugh."
