“Of course I am!” Micma secured the pack around her body, making sure the skull was tucked in and wouldn’t fall out,
“If all the leaders die then I’ll need them for extra protection!” Braxton hissed in annoyance before he refocused on the immediate task.
“Turn left here, the first nursery is on the door to the right!” They enter the room just in time to see the mother rats protecting their young from the roaches. These ones can’t fly but they’re still deadly. Micma jumps on the nearest one and bites into it’s head while Braxton and Eggland attacked another that was getting too close to the pups.
After what seemed like endless fighting, the terrible insects retreated into the holes they slipped through. The rats and Micma had no time rest, those holes had to be filled up as quickly as possible!
“Hurry! Use our feces if we have to! Anything to seal these up!” The pups were being looked over by the nurses as the males worked. Micma had climbed up to the window to keep an eye out for any stragglers.
“Nothing yet..” She turned around to see Braxton trying to calm everyone down and failing at it.
“Where are we going to go after this?!”
“What are we going to do about our food situation?!”
The halls echoed with desperation and fear. It made Micma’s fur stand up as she held the bag close, giving the skull a little pat. “I survived another day, Momma..”
She scampered down and gave Braxton a little shove, “Enough of this! What ar ewe going to do now!?”
“Thats what I’m trying to figure out if everyone else would just be—!” He took a breath. A leader should not be yelling at his people.
“We’ll start moving the older pups first.” He looked towards the beta males, “Go to the top deck and get the wood planks ready. We’ll move the eldest first and get them into the safer houses for now.”
He turned to Micma specifically, “I need you to scout around the area with the guards and take care of any bugs that might be around. Along with anything else. Can you handle a crow?”
“Yes, if I can catch it off-guard.”
“Good. Go.” Micma left with the guards while Braxton continued to give out commands.
