"Wait, he's..." interrupred the other figure pointing to Kaede's missing arm.
"Ah, I see. He didn't take the pill. The arm is missing, though, we'll be fine."
Kaede had not taken action just to possibly get a better grasp of the situation, but, as soon as the first cultivator hinted at the exchange being over, he was already swinging the just purchased iron furnace toward that man's face. A crack could be heard.
As for the second robed person, all Kaede could think of was to prowl towards him. He had no weapon to tip the scale in his favour, and no trick up his sleeve.
"Yo're distractin!" affirmed Voört bashing an unfinished wok he was working on onto the hooded man's head, putting an end to a pretty quick tussle.
The result was two heads smashed. Also a short thin dagger was sticking out of Kaede's left hip. How did it get there was anyone's guess.
"Come in, me'll get yo patched awp"
"Apologies, Voört. Those guys said something distressing, I'll have to rush back."
After bribing Gaell a dozen silver pieces to find out where the girl was, Kaede finally reached her inn and found her puking blood all over the dining room. Everyone else had already fled the scene, with some patrons reflexive puking themselves as if the food was poisoned or something. Of course it wasn't, but the mass hysteria made the owners much easier to deal with.
Kaede walked up to her and checked her pulse. Her zenith meridian was heavily corroded.
"Vosphel's pill seemed fine, so I'm not looking for an actual poison. What could cause this mess?" He softly voiced his thoughts. "Maybe a Three Shaded Flame?"
He carefully checked her pulse again, and surely there it was, a greyish flame consuming her spiritual veins.
"Why would anyone go through the trouble of refining a pill using a corrosive flame?" Actually the why was unimportant. "How do I suppress it? I can't use spiritual power in my condition. Then... maybe... acupuncture points!"
With the predicament at hand subsided, Kaede had time to catch his breath. He checked the wound the dagger left on his hip and it wasn't pretty, yet his body still refused to feel pain.
