Tebonai was pissed at whatever food he was eating. The refectory was crowded and messy, so Kaede couldn't keep his eyes on him the whole time while moving between the tables, but he could have sworn he saw his recently acquired friend punching with actual bitterness a loaf of bread or something.
"What's wrong?"
"Ah, Caedith" Tebonai's expression lightened up. "You're early!"
Clearly he didn't want to talk about his meal, thus Kaede placed a small yale bottle on the table: "This is what you asked me for, a poison capable of killing a whole tribe of Berserk Monkeys without leaving any trace. It's a volatile pill that turns into a miasma that covers a radius of 30 meters, give or take. It works by swelling the spiritual vein that stems from their Nadir Meridian, which makes them suffocate within 20 minutes without even realizing it." Then Kaede placed another bottle on the table, this time ivory colour: "And these are 12 Breath Gathering Pills..."
"Breath Gathering Pills?!" interrupted Tebonai trying to square the loudness his surprise demanded with some care not to draw unwanted attention: "Only sects can refine these!"
"I don't know wheter only sects can refine them, but they also were the easiest pills I could make which worked both as a cure and also as inhibitors for the poison. Whoever handles the miasma pill should take one of these a few minutes beforehand."
"Right, I get it. How much is everything going to cost?"
"Actually, about that I wonder if you could do me a favour instead. Could I speak with you in private?"
Tebonai sprang onto his feet eager to flee from his meal, and Kaede couldn't help but wonder yet again what soured the relationship between the man and the bread.
"Let's say that, hypothetically, someone involountarily took a certain noble's possessions, and that noble was harrassing that person just because they vaguely suspect he might be guilty despite there being absolutely no evidence of any wrongdoing."
Tebonai crackled a bit.
Kaede kept going: "Now, what would that noble think if some third party found one of his items circulating somewhere in the city? Would they cease pursuing the previously quoted and formally guiltless man?"
"Yes, I think I can help with that, you basically just need a trail for the item that apparently coldens into nothing."
"You got it. Here, take it." said Kaede handing Tebonai the Glassteel Moonar wrapped in a linen cloth.
"I have to ask, though: how did you manage to hide this from Vosphel?"
"By simply not having it on me when I went back to the guild. I basically dug a hole just outside of town and dumped the stuff in there."
