I look upon Kousei, unable to believe my eyes, “He’s... Edward, what did you do?”

“What was that?” Isabelle seems to be in as much shock as myself and everyone else. Considering what I know, this is not surprising. The last time I saw that technique…

“Fuck, that hurts.” Edward winces in pain.

“Ed, don’t talk, you’re hurt.”

“Bro, I’m ok. I’m not exactly human, remember? A few slashes like that won’t be the end of me. Hurts like hell though.”

“...” Adam does not seem convinced. 

“He used… his “Eternal Darkness” did he not? How did you escape that technique?” I must know. He should not have been able to escape. That is… what trapped me for millenia.

“It’s not something I’m at liberty to say I’m afraid.”

Kousei composes themself, “Ahhhh, I see what you just did.”

“Yeah.  I think I know who you are now too.”

!! He does!? That… is a problem. It’s… too soon.

“Wait, you do? Who is it?” Adam questions him frantically.

“I do. I’m not sure that I believe it though, and even if I did, it’s not something I can explain without… mounds of “context”.” glancing over to me unnoticed to all but myself,  he directs his gaze back to Kousei.

He… he knows…

“Ha.” Kousei spreads his arms, bragging, “What’s not to believe, “brother”? It was me. I was the one who caused you all this pain. The one that killed… that bitch you call a-”

It happened in an instant.

Kousei, out of view, stopped mid sentence. Trees behind him. Broken and battered for quite some distance. Then a crash, followed by several others, and then a final, louder crash far into the forest. Edward now standing where Kousei once was, arm outstretched, hunched in a rage. Purple non elemental energy gathering around him. 

“Holy… What the hell was THAT all about,  Ed?” Adam wonders what just happened.

He turns back to us. 

“Stay out of this, this bastard just made this personal, I’m gonna tear out whatever is inside my brother with my bare fucking hands, and then KILL IT. YOU GOT THAT!?”

“You can’t be serious.”

“Don’t any of you interrupt me, or else I won’t be held accountable for what I do to you. He crossed the fucking line!”

…

“Adam. I think he’s serious.” Isabelle of all people says this. Given the experience earlier…

“You stubborn... Fine. Go ahead. But when this is said and done I want answers. Got it?”

“Fine.” Edward sprints off, with no regard to his surroundings, destroying everything in his path.
