Well, today was great. The kid Anderson sat next to me was in every. Single. Class. I. Had. It was torture. Since he was new there was no other empty seat except for the one next to me. I always sat alone because it was easier that way. Now he ruined that. I’ve got nothing to wait for at the end of the day. It's the last period and I have yet to figure out what to do. I have one idea. I just don’t know if it’ll work.
“Hey, you, uhh,”
“Oliver? What do you want?”
“I don’t know how to explain this, but, I uh, kinda need help.”
“With your French homework?”
“No, I uhm, don’t have anywhere to go after school.”
“What do you mean? Why can’t you go home?”
“I… don’t really have one of those anymore.”
“Oh… I guess you could crash at mine? I don’t know how my mom would feel letting a stranger in though.”
Argh, this is so awkward. Why do I always end up with nothing? I’m hopeless. Why would Oliver help me? This was dumb. I should tell him I’m fine, I don’t really need help.
“No, uh, sorry Oliver. I wasn’t trying to bother you. I’m fine, really.”
“What?”
“I said I’m fine…?”
“But, you can’t possibly be fine if you have no home? Please stay with us.”
“I- I guess.”
“Thank you. When class is over, you should follow me out.”
“Okay… Thank you, Oliver.”
“You’re welcome, and, you can call me Ollie.”
The way he smiled at me… I can’t deny it made my stomach flip a little. This might be a little bad.

“Come with me.”
“Okay.”
I follow him out the school doors and help him look for his mom’s car (I really did nothing but stand there).
“Okay, this is it.”
“Where?”
“Right here?”
“The gray car?”
“Yes, dude, why are you being weird?”
“It's.. nothing.”
What does he mean by “why are you being weird”? Why wouldn’t I be weird? That car was a Tesla, a Tesla Model X. That has gotta be so expensive. Which makes me wonder how big their house is. A mansion? This is so much more than I expected.
“Hey, Mom!”
“Hi honey, who’s that with you?
“He’s this kid from my class. He’s got… a situation going on at home.”
“I don't have a home is the problem.”
“Wow, it’s okay kid, I can let you stay at our place as long as you need.”
“Thank you so much, ma’am.”
“It’s no big deal. Now get in the car before I leave without you!”
***************************
We get to his house and I literally cannot keep my mouth shut. Not in the way of talking too much, but because this house is fucking huge. We walk inside and I kid you not, there is an entire ELEVATOR in the foyer. An ELEVATOR. What on earth could this woman possibly do for work?
Anyway, we go into the elevator (I have no idea how to emphasize how weird it is that there’s an elevator) and go to the third floor. Once we get there I get out first and I’m still in awe, their hallway has like, one hundred doors. Ollie shows me to the third door on the right (gotta remember that in this huge house).
“This is my room, make yourself at home”
“Here? But this is your room?”
“So? It’s huge, you can sleep on the sofa, and it’s comfier than our guest beds anyway.”
“Okay… thanks, Ollie”
“For what?”
“For everything you’re doing for me.”
“Oh, you're welcome! It’s no problem
