“This is an… interesting garage you got.” I say as I look around Mako’s extraneous garage. It has a bunch of metals clustered in different shelves, tools all over the floor, and many different workbenches scattered around. It looked as if someone tried to rob it and didn’t care to put anything back.
“Ignore the big mess please. I was using my alchemy and things got a little crazy.”
“You can use alchemy?”
“Yup. I’ve been hiding it forever from any friends, but now that I know you’re an illegal executioner, I can tell you anything.”
“So you’re saying you couldn’t trust me?”
“Pretty much.”
“Awww, cmon!” Mako chuckles and throws the few boxes of the executioner weapon materials onto the floor.
“Rest up Yuki. I’m sure you’re pretty tired.”
“Yeah I am pretty fatigued, but where the hell am I gonna sleep?”
“My room.”
“Talk about a guys dream.” I say with a sly grin.
“You wanna sleep in here instead Daitan?”
“NO MA’AM!” I make my way out of the garage and go upstairs to her room. As usual her room is very bright and girly. I jump onto her bed and the sheets are smooth and the blanket is fluffy and comfy. I close my eyes and slowly drift off to sleep.
A bright light shines in the darkness of my slumber. A slender figure with two wings slowly descends from the light. It’s hard to get a glimpse and is completely out of reach from me.
“You have spread one of your wings, young one.” The figure walks closer to me slowly while continuing to speak. “I’m proud that you have awakened your Tennin blood. Those pure wings were beautiful my child.” The figure finally shows its appearance as it leans towards my face. It’s a woman with long hair blonde reaching her feet and from her feet to her neck were bandages covering her like a mummy and some were flowing to the ground.
“Are you going to keep that silly shocked expression of yours, child?” I realized my mouth was opened and I attempt to speak.
“Ummm… I have a few questions, but the important one is, where am I?”
“Oh yes, I forgot to display the true nature of your void.” The woman snaps her fingers and in almost a matter of seconds, a large field of white peonies appeared, along with a horizon in the distance. It was truly a beautiful piece of art. “This is your subconscious. It may change over time depending on your state of mind and personality, but right now it looks gorgeous. You are a pure child of mine.”
“Well that answered a few questions then. I don’t wanna waste too much time so I’ll cut to the chase. Why am I here and what is a Tennin?”
“You’re here simply because you’ve awakened your ability and what is a Tennin you may ask? The Tennin are □ □ □.” A distorted noise erupts as she answers the question.
“Could you repeat that?”
“I’m sorry. It seems that I can’t currently tell you right now. You’ll have to find out some other time, but trust me, your path will lead you to the destination where you’ll find out everything.” She puts her finger on my chin smirks at me. “Before I wake you up, my name is Mythgoris.” She lowers her finger to my chest and pushes me down into the floor.
I arise from my sleep. I hurry out the bed and head to the garage. Are you serious? Is Mako really asleep? I go over to Mako and poke her face a few times. She doesn’t respond. I pinch her cheek. She doesn’t respond. I grab and wrench and hit her in the face with it.
“OOOOW WHAT THE HELL!!!” Mako sits up covering her face. I throw the wrench behind me and chuckle at her. “What was the point of that, Yuki?”
“I have school in an hour and I need you to give me my things before I leave.”
“You could have took the damn thing and left me a cute note or something.”
“Well I don’t know where the guns are, idiot.”
“THE GUNS ARE AT THE WORKBENCH IN FRONT OF ME IN YOUR FACE IF YOU USE YOUR HEAD FOR ONCE!” I look up from her direction and see the two guns on the workbench. “Take them and go. I also put a backpack behind the bench for you to use. Don’t get in any trouble alright?”
“Aren’t you coming to school?”
“Nope, too tired. I’m skipping today.”
“You never seem to change.” I grab the guns and stuff them in the backpack and head out of the garage. I grab my phone out of my pocket and text Mya that we need to talk at school today. I sure hope that the school doesn’t have anything to do with the DES. I don’t want to have to abandon my friends because of my careless actions. I don’t think the walk to school takes to long from here thankfully, so I’ll find out soon enough and be able to run right back here if needed.
I arrive at the school gates and take a deep breath. I walk through the gate into the school. At the entrance of the school are small lockers. I don’t use them, but I still check everyday just in case a girl ask me out again. I check the locker and a small note was in there with a heart envelope. Which girl will I be rejecting today? I open it and I read it quietly.
“Daitan! Whassup ma man? You might not know me but my name is Nex! I have a perm and I got green hair! I mean its green but kinda white at the tips of my hair ya know? If ya see me in the hallway, give ya man a good ol call!”
I crumble the note and throw it back into my locker and head to my classroom. I sit down near the window at the first row of seats. Many people are already here. The popular girls surrounding a singular table talking about the recent gossip. The guys talking to each other about sports and girls. Then you have me. The guy that everyone wants to talk to for some reason, but always turns them down. The teacher walks in the room with another student. The teacher quiets us down before speaking.
“From now on we will have a new student. Please introduce yourself.” You’ve got to be kidding me. THAT’S him?
“The name is Nex Orphus! I’m happy to say that I will be joining ya guys in your class! And girls, make sure to get my number before the end of the day!” The class erupts with laughter and girls cheering. The teacher sighs and leaves. Nex makes his way over to me in a hurry.
“Yo, Daitan!” Seriously? The class looks at me and Nex.
“Nice to meet you. You’re less handsome than the girls describe you to be.” The class stays silent, waiting for what happens next.
“You’re way more annoying in person than you were in that stupid note you gave me.” The class bursts into laughter and then a bunch of girls circle around Nex, asking for his number. This guy is really going to be a pain in the ass.
