Alex Reed awoke to an odd sensation of dampness and darkness, a stark contrast to the comfortable bed he'd fallen asleep in. He tried to rub his eyes, but instead of hands, he felt... nothing. 

Wait... WHAT? Panic began to bubble up. NO HANDS? He flailed mentally for a moment before forcing himself to calm down. 

Alright, no hands. Totally fine. Not like I used those for anything... like everything, he thought, letting out a dry laugh in his mind. 

Years of RPGs had trained him for weird situations, but this? This was next level. 

Stay cool, Alex. Deep breath... Except when he tried to inhale, nothing happened. No air, no movement. His body felt—off. 

Oh great. They took my nose too! What's next, my kneecaps? Wait... do worms even have knees? 

"Okay, Alex, think," he muttered, or at least tried to—since his mouth felt so tiny it might as well be MIA. 

No problem! I'll just think really hard instead, he snorted mentally, though it wasn't nearly as satisfying. 

You're in a dark, damp place. No limbs, no eyes. Ah, yes—classic worm scenario, he quipped, as if this was something that happened every Tuesday. 

His body wriggled involuntarily as he tried to make sense of his surroundings. The cool, moist earth pressed in on him from all sides. He was underground, completely buried in dirt. 

Well, at least it's not quicksand... or, you know, lava.
