Sachiko takes a few minuets to read over the papers that were handed to her. Her expression was worried the entire time she was reading. An A-tier deceit. That’s almost at the top of the deceit ranking pyramid. The pyramid has 6 layers.
D-tier, C-tier, B-tier, A-tier, S-tier, and the most dangerous, H-Tier or Hazard-Tier. The D through C-tier is usually taken care of by Rank 4-3 Executioners, B-tier is for Rank 2, and A and S tier are for Rank 1. H-Tiers are usually handled by Special Executioners. I’m only a Rank 2 Executioner, so an A-tier deceit would most likely be a problem for most people in my rank, but not for me.
“Mayumi, you’re going to have to sit this one out.”
“Whuh?”
“This deceit’s tier isn’t even A-tier from the sound of it. It’s more like borderline S-tier.” I stomp over to her desk and snatch the papers.

Information: A deceit has been attacking large areas of Japan for 3 days. Below is all the information from different DES departments.
Tokyo Prefecture: Appeared in Shinjuku approximately at 17:00. The deceit started violently attacking and killing people at a relatively fast pace. Three Rank 2 Executioners were dispatched around the time of 17:04. They were later reported dead only a couple of minutes after encountering the deceit. More Executioners were dispatched after them, but there were no signs or traces of the deceit. Due to the fact that everyone around the area of Shinjuku died, there is no way of giving a description of the deceit’s appearance or abilities.
Aichi Prefecture: Appeared in Nagoya around 17:00. The deceit did the same thing it did in Shinjuku, but this time it was stopped by a Rank 1 Executioner, Manux. Manux took a fair amount of damage, but was able to withstand the injuries. He was able to deliver a description of the deceits appearance and strengths.
“It was like a demon in the disguise of a high-schoolers body. A face of pure malice, a paralyzing hysterical laugh, and curtain hair that was flooded in the blood of the victims he had killed. When I fought against him, I had little chance of winning and even surviving. He was so fast that I had only a split second to dodge his hand that was ready to claw me to the ground. I was able to stab his arm with the backup knife I had, but he crushed it and started laughing. After that, he ripped my arm off, then ran off.”
The last one was the Osaka Prefecture which was pretty much the same thing that happened with Tokyo. I don’t continue to touch the last two pages and place the papers down. I’m honestly shaken by this. Even a Rank 1 Executioner couldn’t handle that deceit? No, I can’t sit back and let this happen without helping. I am Astrum’s right hand man!
“You see why I’m not gonna let you head out today, right?” Sachiko says in a blunt voice.
“I have to do this! Everyo-!” I’m cut off by a loud slam on Sachiko’s desk.
“STOP WITH THE DAMN ‘The people’s lives are on the line’ SHIT! YOU KNOW YOU’RE ALSO A HUMAN BEING RIGHT? HOW ABOUT YOU THINK LIKE ONE AND STOP THINKING LIKE A SIMPLE COG IN A MACHINE!”
“We aren’t humans, Sachiko! We are Executioners! We are the gods of this world! We are the saviors of Japan!”
“Ohhhhh, so now you have god complex? You’re going to end up being a failure with that kind of thinking!”
“That’s ironic coming from the sunshine and rainbows standing right in front of me!”
“You know what? Go ahead. I’m done arguing with you. If you die, you die, and it’s not my fault. Let me read the rest of that file so that I can dispatch people for this operation.” Sachiko stomps over to my desk and snatches the files. God. She really is the most pathetic and bitchiest person I’ve ever worked with in my life. She has more experience than me and still thinks that us Executioners are human? I bet she has never even hurt a fly during her line of duty! How could someone like her be Rank 1?
I start to hear Sachiko mumbling.
“For this operation… evacuate everybody by 15:00... Two people will be… Sachiko Sinoper… May- WHAT!? MAYUMI MASASHI?”
“WHY ARE YOU YELLING?”
“YOU’RE YELLING TOO!” Sachiko takes a deep breath. “Two people will be performing the execution of the deceit. Those two people are: Sachiko Sinoper and Mayumi Masashi.”
“I told you that the people needed me.”
“Yeah, whatever. We have to prepare now. We only have 7 hours before he arrives. Is your stomach still hurting?”
“No. It hurt for a until we ate something, but I’m sure that wasn’t from hunger.”
“That vigilante kid sounds strong. Or maybe you’re just weak…”
“Cut it out. We need to start evacuating people and start coming up with a strategy to kill this thing. We are the strongest DES group in Japan, so let’s live up to it!” I walk out of the office and went to the 3rd floor lab to tell the alerting authorities to let me make a emergency announcement. They instantly nod. It seemed as if they already knew what it was about. At the front of the lab was a red button on a podium that is used to activate the intercoms all around Kyoto.
“Dear citizens of Kyoto! This is emergency evacuation alert! Please evacuate out of Kyoto by the time of 15:00! There is an extremely dangerous deceit with an undetermined rank that is ravaging through Japan and we are most likely it’s next target! Shut down all schools, workplaces, and hospitals! If any damages happen to any properties, the DES will make sure to cover you for it! If you have not left Kyoto by the time of 15:00, we are not responsible for anything that happens to you.” I take my hand off the button and go up to Astrum’s office.
“Did you assign me as her partner just for this?”
“You’re a quick one, Mayumi. Yes, that is exactly why. Your strength and potential is far better than hers. I’m going to need you to show her that you are the ultimate being of this world. Save Kyoto.”
“I understand. I will carry out my duty as the savior of Kyoto!”
I return to my office and see Sachiko staring out the window at the back of the office, watching the countless people walking and driving outside of the prefecture.
“Sachiko, we need to come up with a strategy. Let’s start mapping out where we need to go and how we will kill it.”
“Sorry… I’m just a little worried.” I scoff at her comment.
“Of course you’re worried. You care too much about dying and not about the people.”
“Think what you want.” Sachiko goes back to her chair and grabs her black coat. “Let’s get started with the preparations.”
