Marilou and Isaac went to their very own rooms, agitated. The teenagers were victims of paranormal experiences, they questioned facts about their existence. They have been here for a day, and everything about his mansion seemed horrible to them.
Their house had everything of a haunted house. Earlier, they could've said it looked like one, but now they could officially confirm it; it was a haunted house.
They didn't know whether they could be proud of it or not. Both of them always liked, or should I say adored horror movies! They ended Strangers Things fast, and the mysterious looked...mysterious to them!
The simply thought of seeing fantastic creatures, experiencing magic experiences with their own eyes looked crazy to them. Marilou and Isaac enjoyed creepy movies for their view of it that matched reality. Never, and I say never, would the Daniels cry or gasp in fear at the view or a spooky scene.
Some stories even tell that when Isaac was younger, he watched horror movies with adoration, clapping his hands and warbling every time someone was getting killed. Murky.
But today, if we would meet any of them in the streets, they would look completely okay. Because they were. The thought of a kid enjoying a horror movie was a weird rumour that the victim itself never understood.
And rumours were just like mice. They run towards us before warning, then leave, then come back. It could have a link with anyone, who could've done anything.
Well, most of the time it doesn't even make sense. It's not surprising when you end up learning that they were invented. Those creators are most of the time seeking attention. No doubts. That's the farthest Marilou went in her reflexion.
The twins never had a great reputation at their school. Marilou, with what the rumours said, possessed a reading circle where all the geeks of the neighbourhood would come to gossip about everything. The creator decided to add that she read every night and traded murky books at the Black Market since she was nine.
It was so ridiculous that it was pathetic! Seriously, they had only seen her reading once, and now all of this was made up! It shouldn't be a crime!
Isaac had a worse reputation. The kids in his class pretend that he's just an idiot that doesn't know anything. According to them, he was part of sect of the killer called The Bad Guy. The Bad Guy was a very known murder known in the province. Every month, new people would get killed, and nobody would know who it was. Even the best investigators.
At that one moment, Marilou and Isaac weren't doing any of those actions. It was supper time. With all of this trouble with the weird phenomenas, the family didn't take their supper yet.
- Marilou, Isaac, it's time to supper! Their mom called them, pulling them out of their trance
Marilou stuffed her book in her night shelf, Isaac putting his phone back in his pocket. They then discovered their mother, a glad smile on her lips with their father, his ose buried in the newsletter.
A delicious Poke Bowl awaited them. Marilou sat down, devouring her plate with the strength of her gaze. As her parents gaze her the sign, they started eating.
- Tasty... The younger commented
- Mm, that's great. I'm glad you didn't put any salmon in that, this time. It adds sugar...Her brother joined
Shannon laughed, as Philippe looked up from his documents.
- You know there's salmon in this, right? She corrected him
Isaac's eyes widened and he made a disgusted expression, scrunching his nose. Amused, his twin watched him curiously, tasting her meal. He rested his chin on his palm and sighed deeply. It looked like it were the worst news to him.
The two girls of the family made eye contact, before laughing. Then, nobody spoke. Philippe remained focused in his text, his forehead pleated with concentration.
- And so, Marilou, Isaac, what was this scary in the attic? Their mother inquired them, squinting her eyes
It was Marilou's turn to have her eyes widened. Trying to keep an unreadable expression, she shifted to her brother, searching for a response. Or excuses. Either of them would have to work, but their mother wanted an explanation.
- There wasn't anything terrifying...Isaac ended up saying, drops of sweat dripping from his forehead betraying his nervousity, We were in a race.
Shannon narrowed her eyes some more, skeptical, as Marilou ate. To be honest, the girl didn't believe that Shannon would trust her brother's sayings this easily.
His sweat and his panicked eyes didn't help either.
- Are you sure? You look like you had seen a spectrum... Shannon insisted, meeting her children's eyes one by one
Marilou felt her heart drop down her stomach and twist. What to say, what to do? The girl couldn't know. Happily for her, Isaac came to save them both.
- You're hallucinating, mom, we were tired...He spoke with nonchalance
Marilou was glad that her brother looked this indifferent, because she wanted to believe him. The teenagers catched their breath when they saw their mother's relieved smile.
- Alright, whatever you say...She told them, leaning back as she sipped her wine
