"Baby girl, you need to get ready for work now, so you won't be late," Nora said jovially, winking at Mia, whose eyes were already bloodshot and puffy from crying all night. "You've been crying over that psychopath, but he's not the only guy in the universe, for Pete's sake! You'll find someone much better than him, maybe someone as handsome as Bryson, you know?" Mia ignored her and sniffed, standing up to get dressed for work.

An hour later, she entered the office and was relieved to arrive before Bryson. A few minutes later, he walked in, looking cold as usual. "Good morning, sir," Mia greeted, but he only nodded and went to his desk, scrolling through his phone with a stern expression, cursing under his breath as he typed furiously.

"I hope he's alright and not going to vent his anger on me," Mia thought inwardly as she approached him. "Sir, here are your schedules for today," she said, reading them out to him without waiting for a reply.

"So, I have a meeting today in the conference room at noon?" he asked.

"Yes, sir," Mia replied.

Bryson stared at her, smirking inwardly, as he handed her numerous files. "What are these for, sir?" Mia asked.

"Oh, they're for decorations," Bryson said sarcastically, adding, "These are what I need for the meeting by noon, so make sure I get them before the meeting starts. Is that clear?"

"Yes, boss," Mia replied.

"Now disappear from my sight," Bryson said, and Mia quickly scurried away to her desk. She glanced at her wristwatch and thought inwardly, "Oh my! I have only five hours to do all these? How am I going to cope? Why is he venting his anger on me? Do I look like a robot?" She gave him a glare and began typing furiously on the laptop in front of her.

Dylan took the day off and was in his apartment, where Kyle was trying to console him. "So, we're over?" he asked, rubbing his eyes.

"You have to move on, bro," Kyle said, patting his back.

"Move on? Hell no! She broke up with me, but I didn't break up with her. I'm never going to let go of her. I'll always stick to her like glue, whether she's okay with it or not. I don't give a fuck," Dylan yelled.

"Dylan, I know it hurts, but you just need to move on..." Kyle said, but Dylan cut him off.

"Just shut the hell up, you fool! You know nothing about love, so don't try to lecture me," he growled, and then broke into tears, wailing loudly.

Meanwhile, Mia yawned tiredly as she printed out the last paper. It was only ten minutes to the meeting, and she had been working on this task since morning. She ran up to Bryson immediately.

"What made you so late? Do you know you just wasted my time? Why are you my PA if you're not competent enough to do your job?" Bryson yelled.

Mia stared at the handsome man in front of her, quickly bowing and apologizing. "I'm sorry, boss" was all she could say.

Bryson grabbed the files from her and started walking to the conference room while Mia ran after him. Getting to the elevator, Bryson entered and chuckled at Mia, who was trying to enter.

"This will be one of your punishments. You're going to use the staircase, and I must not get to the conference room before you," Bryson said, startling Mia, who opened her mouth wide in disbelief.

"Boss, please don't do this to me. Using the staircase is going to take a whole lot of time and energy. There's no way for me to use the staircase and still get to the conference room before you. It's impossible, boss," she cried.

"Then make it possible, Mia," Bryson yelled as he pressed a button, and the elevator shut, starting to move.

Mia was sad and furious at the same time. She wiped the tears that trickled down her cheeks from her eyes and removed her heels. She started running down the staircase.

Bryson had already arrived at the conference room, where the executives were waiting for him. They all stood up and greeted him on seeing him. Bryson checked around for Mia but couldn't see her and smiled in satisfaction.

He sat on his seat and cleared his throat before speaking up. "Now, let's start the meeting since my stubborn PA refuses to show up, so..."

He trailed off as he saw Mia running inside. "I'm here!" she shouted, breathing heavily. Her hair was disheveled, falling to her face, almost covering it, making her look like a lunatic. She was holding her heels in her hands as she wiped the perspirations on her head.

"What the heck!" The executives chorused, staring at her in disbelief.
