Dylan was groaning in pain as he clenched his fist in anger. "That bitch! I swear I'm going to kill her if I lay my hands on her again." Kyle stared at him and burst into laughter, and Dylan glared at him as he applied an ointment to his manhood.
"That's what you deserve, Dylan, because how the hell would you go to see Mia again after she broke up with you? Try being pragmatic, bro," Kyle said, chuckling.
"You idiot! Do you think it's funny? I wouldn't blame you," Dylan yelled, still groaning in pain, while Kyle continued to smile.
"But that was too harsh, Nora," Mia said, pouting.
"Oh, please, Mia, he deserved to be treated like a psychopath since he acts like one. Can you imagine he was dragging my hair and even tore my beautiful blouse? He wasn't going to leave, so I did what I needed to do to make peace and save myself because that guy was blinded by fury. I think he needs to go to prison since he lacks common sense," Nora yelled at Mia for the first time, her frustration evident as she glared at her.
"Nora, I'm sorry. I wasn't there to save you. Forgive me," Mia said.
"It would have been worse if you were here," Nora replied.
"I'm sorry, baby," Mia cooed and pulled her into a tight hug.
Bryson sat on his bed, unable to sleep, as he tossed and turned. His phone rang, but he refused to answer, knowing it was Sophia calling him again. He hissed and switched off his phone as he tried to sleep, but his mind kept drifting to Mia, and her pretty face kept flashing in his mind.
"She's pretty," he heard himself say, and he slapped his cheeks immediately. "She's trying to enchant you, Bryson. Wake up from your slumber and pull yourself together. You know the rule: don't fall in love," he said to himself as he continued to toss and turn until he fell off the bed with a loud thud.
"Ouch!" He groaned as he hit his head on the floor, which had a small cut. He sighed as he picked up a plaster and applied it to the cut. "Mia, see what you caused. You're going to suffer for it at work tomorrow," he said, smirking to himself.
" Australia?" Nora gasped in surprise as she stared at Mia, who had just told her about her business trip with Bryson to Australia. "That seems like a good plan," she added.
"And what do you mean by that?" Mia asked, knowing fully well that Nora was going to come up with stupid ideas about her going on a date with Bryson.
"This is operation one, making him enchanted by your charm," Nora said and chuckled.
"Meaning?"
"It means you will get more time to be with him alone in Australia. You will be spending a whole week together, all alone. You need to know everything about him, his likes and dislikes, his love life..."
"Oh please, Nora, cut the crap and spare me. I'm..."
"The last time I checked, Mia, you are single," Nora interrupted.
Mia remained silent for a while before speaking up. "Yes, but I'm not interested in having a relationship. I need to take a break. I've had enough of Dylan, and I don't want to add more to the problem on ground."
"Mia, stop comparing yourself to Dylan. You can't compare a hot Greek god to a psychopath. Forget about Dylan and move on. You're 23, not 10," Nora said, her face contorted with anger.
Mia sighed and said nothing, lying down on the bed and forcing herself to sleep. Nora rolled her eyes and turned to the other side of the bed.
The next day...
Bryson checked himself out in the mirror and frowned, seeing the plaster on his head, which disfigured his handsome face a little bit. "You'll pay for this," he groaned and drove off to work.
Getting to the office, he saw Mia already at work, arranging documents in front of her. He smiled on seeing her, but his smile froze immediately Mia looked towards him. He wore a cold face and replied to her greetings before walking up to his desk.
Mia waited for some minutes before walking up to him. "Thank you for the ride, sir," she said, but Bryson only nodded.
"So, your schedules for today are..." She trailed off as she saw the plaster on his face. She gasped in surprise and didn't know when she touched his face. "Sir, what happened to your face? You were fine yesterday..."
Bryson frowned as he thought of what happened yesterday. Mia realized she was touching his face and, as if electrified with lightning, withdrew her hands immediately and stared at Bryson for an answer.
"It's your damn fault," Bryson said, though he said that inwardly, but Mia heard him clearly. "My fault? How?" Mia asked in fear.
Bryson opened his eyes wide in shock, realizing his mistake. He turned away from her pretty face and said nonchalantly, "It's none of your business. You have two minutes to read the schedules now."
Mia was confused as she read his schedules immediately. "As if she cares, why would she touch me? Doesn't she know that she has a negative effect on me?" He groaned inwardly.
"And that's all," her sweet voice brought him out of his reverie. "Good! And don't you ever touch me again, it disgusts me," Bryson growled, but he added inwardly, "because it arouses me."
"I'm sorry, boss," Mia said.
"Whatever! Take care of your babies over there," Bryson said, pointing to loads of work, and Mia frowned, groaning inwardly.
Bryson chuckled and said inwardly, "That's my punishment for you coming into my mind without my permission. Next time, don't ever try to come into my thoughts." He laughed out loudly, and Mia stared at him in disbelief.
"Seems he's deriving pleasure in seeing me suffer," she groaned inwardly. "I'm gonna make your life miserable too," she added and smirked.
