Thought 1: Paper

Thought 1: Paper

Oct 09, 2024

Whenever I have an interaction with paper, it always has some form of effect.

It an be Boredom, Affection, Inspiration amoung a few things, but I moreso think of fear right now.

I can stay on one page for ages, and no matter what I do, the mistakes that I can see and that I make just stick out so much more than all the others!

So what can I do?
Simple, I don't make that mistake again.

But then I do, I write or type the same mistake, but it takes a different setting, so do I take a note and place it next to me before I continue?
Or do I think that it is a waste of paper?
It depends on the mistake, some people just cross it out and forget about it, and move on, and I do the same, but I don't like how easily I forget about it, so I still take a note as well when I can.

But then theres touchy moments, where you use the wrong word. And that can sometimes destroy the story, but the story goes on.
When you make a grammar mistake, which trips up the plot, but still you can learn from it and make sure it doesn't happen again, or even when it lasts for quite a sum of time and annoys you, pestering you for making that mistake again and again.

These are the mistakes that can't be taken back, the ones that make you grind your teeth at your own stupidity, when you've had enough of making that mistake and you just want to do it right, to go back to the start and place whiteout all over it, when you want to erase it and fix something thats never going to be fixed until you learn not to keep making that mistake.

But everyone, including myself, Writes IN INK.

And I am getting worried, about the paper that I've wasted, about the next page, that I just want to skip to and continue the next part of the story.

But I just need to take a second. To re-read all that I have written, because no amount of erasing or whiteout is going to rid me of the mistakes I make. And in no way am I going to be able to Skip to the next part of the story without finishing the page before it.

Because that's how a story works isn't it?
You start it, you write it, make mistakes, learn from them (or at least try), and help others not make those mistakes.
Then after each page and each chapter of your story gets turned progessively, the story turns out the way it does by the actions of its author, did they try to skip to the good part, ignoring the build-up to what comes next?

Or did the take the step by step process in each page to make the next page...

Make sense.
