Me, Mya, and Nex were standing outside of the school while watching everyone evacuate. We’re staying. It was Nex’s idea for us to stay and fight the deceit after the announcement went off in lunch.
“We’re not going.”
“What!?” Mya and I yell in unison.
“You two are executioners right?”
“How do you…”
“Mya isn’t a good whisperer.” I chuckle at Mya. Mya grabs Nex by the collar of his shirt.
“You were eavesdropping?”
“I already had my suspicions. The Queen told me to look after Daitan after all.” I raise an eyebrow.
“Queen?” Nex jumps and quickly rewords himself.
“Uh! Oh! Forget I said that! Haha…” Me and Mya stare at each other then look up at Nex.
“We’ll stay, but give us one reason why we should.”
“I’m also an executioner!” Mya and I stare at him blankly. “No surprises…?” Nex sighs.
Now that we’re outside the school watching people evacuate, we need to start making a plan of some sorts.
“Nex. Mya. We need to go somewhere secluded so that we can talk and plan out these next few hours.” They nod and we head over to the Seimei Shrine.
“Why’d you bring us here?”
“No one really comes here often anymore. Also it’s a pretty nice place to be at.” Mya laughs at me.
“Just say that you like it because our dad took us here everyday.” She’s right. That’s exactly why I brought us here. He would always come here before he went off to work and sometimes even brought me and Mya along.
“Sounds like a good father.” Me and Mya nod.
“Let’s get back onto the subject at hand. We know nothing about this deceit and it’s likely that it’s either an S or Hazard tier. Me and Mya aren’t strong enough for that, so you better come up with something.”
“I know you guys aren’t able to defeat yourself, but with me it should be possible. I’m around rank 1 or special executioner level, so don’t worry!”
“How are we suppose to believe any of this?” Nex starts to sweat. A voice in my head starts to talk.
“We need to talk, child.” It’s Mythgoris.
“I have a way you can test actually. Knock me out.” Nex puts on a puzzled look.
“Say what?”
“Knock. Me. Out.” Nex takes a deep breath and starts to hesitate for a little while until punching me so fast I couldn’t react. I’m back in the same familiar place I was before. Mythgoris is standing with her back towards me and her hands held together. I stand up and flick one of her wings. She grabs my hand and quickly turns. She glares at me with bloodlust.
“I would have killed you if I hadn’t turned around…” Mythgoris says in a monotone voice. She can kill me here? Scary…
“You can’t just say that and start smiling.”
“Sorry, I must have frightened you, child. I wanted to talk to you about this deceit that is arriving soon. Listen to me when I say this alright?” I sit down in the soft field of flowers.
“Go on.”
“Don’t kill it. That deceit is what will start your story, your path, your ending. If that deceit dies, you will be doomed in the future.”
“How is any of that possible?”
“I can’t answer due to the answer most likely being filtered out and if I did tell you, it could change your fate in an unpredictable way which could be dangerous.”
“Fine. I have no objections.”
“Good. This plan can only be pulled off by you and only you. I’m sure you’ll have to manipulate some variables on the way, but you’ll be the main variable over all.” Mythgoris brings upon a weapon. A cleaver butcher knife with a handle that is decorated in bone and a black aura surrounding the weapon. “This will be used to □ □ □.” Mythgoris sighs. “Just stab him with this thing. Really, really deep.”
“I thought we weren’t killing it.”
“It won’t kill him. Just do as I say as I assist you throughout the operation.” I nod and grab the weapon. “I’ll be seeing you soon.”
I arise and see Mya and Nex eating sushi. They both look at me and toss the food into a bush nearby.
“Were you guys eating and didn’t get me anything?”
“I thought I killed you! It’s 14:45!”
“I was out for that long!?”
“Yeah man. I really hope you came up with a plan while you were knocked out or whatever.”
“I did actually. It’s a lot so just bear with me.”
Me and Sachiko have been walking to the Shimogyo Ward, which is where the deceit is most likely to arrive at. We haven’t spoken a word this entire walk and even when I try to talk about back up plans, Sachiko always tells me to shut up. I somewhat find her fear of this deceit hilarious. It’s 14:55 by the time we arrive at Gojō.
“Looks like everyone has evacuated.” Sachiko doesn’t respond. Sachiko opens her suitcase and reveals a singular rose. I burst out laughing.
“That’s your weapon?” Sachiko gives me a stare that feels like she just ripped into my chest. “What the hell is that little rose going to do?”
“This.” Sachiko takes the rose, plucks one of the petals, and throw it precision at something behind me. I quickly turn and see what she just hit with the petal. It was the deceit we’ve been waiting for.
