Select, Max, and Kate were looking at the open field in the area known as Cadbury Castle.
“I don’t see anything special,” Max said sincerely.
Select looked at the map and searched for the place.
“Here it is, but I don’t see anything special…”
Examining the terrain, he noticed a unique stone.
“It has the symbol of… of the Diary.”
As he approached the Diary, it began to levitate, and the ground opened up to reveal a passage with stairs.
“Wow,” Select said, surprised, as the Diary returned to his hands.
Venturing inside, they discovered medieval rooms.
“It’s… it’s Camelot Castle! A part of it intact!”
That place was like traveling to the past and immersing oneself in the Middle Ages.
“How have they not discovered this before?”
Walking through the corridors, Select found a room full of maps and objects.
“Percival de Carpenter’s room! We’re close!”
Max picked up an object that caught his attention while Select and Kate observed the entire place entranced.
“Guys,” Select warned.
In front of them was a huge wooden door with beautiful decorative details.
In the center of the room was a huge round table.
“I don’t believe it, the Knights of the Round Table used to meet here!” Select exclaimed.
On the table was a huge rock, and embedded in it was Excalibur.
“Excalibur!” Select was surprised.
Kate approached the stone and read the inscription.
“Only the pure of heart will obtain Excalibur.”
Kate tried to pull out the sword, to no avail.
“Select, give it a try, I don’t think I can,” Max said.
“Max, don’t say that, I’m sure that…”
“Please, just do it.”
Select nodded, and with both hands, he grabbed the sword. With much nervousness, he pulled it out, and it came out effortlessly.
“We have it, guys, we have it!” Select exclaimed with joy.
While Select was jumping around, a bullet pierced his head.
“SELECT!!!” Max cried out in anguish as Select fell to the ground, unmoving.
Kate was next, with a bullet directly to her heart.
“Hello, bastards,” Smith greeted, holding the pistol that had taken the lives of his friends.
“You’ll pay for this!!!” Max yelled, full of rage.
“Thanks for the sword.”
BANG! The bullet painfully impacted Max’s lung, causing him to fall to the ground. As he lay in agony, he watched Smith snatch Excalibur from the hands of his deceased friend. After that, everything went black.
Max woke up in a strange place.
“I see you’ve made it here,” a deep voice said to him.
As he turned around, he saw an older man with a long beard that reached his waist.
“It can’t be… are you Merlin?”
“Yes, I am, the King of Wizards.”
Max was confused.
“What… is this place?”
“Your mind.”
“And why are you here?”
Merlin approached the young man.
“Because I want to help you. I know what that man has done to your friends, and I know what he could do to the world, and we must stop him.”
“I’m afraid I can’t, I am… I am dead.”
Merlin laughed.
“Who said you are dead, young girl? A wizard don’t die so easily.”
“What? What do you mean, a wizard?”
“Have you not wondered why you healed so quickly? It’s because you are a wizard. So, if I were you I would go and save your friends right now.”
“But… they are dead.”
“Well, not entirely, so hurry,” Merlin told him.
Max woke up as if he had been asleep, without pain.
He quickly approached Select and Kate.
“What do I do? What do I do?”
He placed his hands on them, and both began to breathe again.
“Max!” exclaimed Select.
“I’m fine, but Smith has Excalibur.”
Select rushed to the door, and when he stepped outside, dark and stormy clouds were forming on the horizon.
When the most famous stories and artifacts prove to be true, an ironic archaeologist with a lot of luck will have to face formidable enemies who want to use them for their plans.
From Excalibur to passing through Sleepy Hollow, the dangers will not end for Select and company.
