In the afternoon, the boys went back to the shop to work again. Mr. Samson was friendlier to the boys and was satisfied that the store was as clean as it was, and the boys had done all the tasks he had given them. He gave the keys to Johnny again and said goodbye to them. 
Chris and Johnny continued to work. 
A few weeks passed, and Johnny hadn't touched the book or even thought about it. Chris was even participating in customer service. 

A popular girl from school came to the store.

Chris ran toward her and asked,
“Hey, Amanda!"“How are you doing?” Said Chris excitedly.

“Hey Chris!" Answered Amanda happily. “My dad had ordered a few gallons of paint. Is it ready?”

“Of course, I will put it in your car right away!” Said Chris while grabbing  the paint

“Hey Johnny, so this year you will be starting school?” Asked Amanda

“Yeah!” Said Johnny shyly. 

Suddenly, a strange girl came to the store. She wore all black and had high boots, even if it was a hot summer. 

“This is my little sister, Nicole. She is also going to start high school as well." Said Amanda

“Hey.”said Nicole 

Johnny started to blush. He thought she was super cute but didn’t want to act like a dork .
Chris came back to the store after putting all the paint buckets in the car.
“It is all done” 

“Say boys, how would you like to come to my party?" My dad won’t be here today since he will be painting out of town."Said Amanda

“Yes we both will be there!” Said Chris
“Great!” Said Amanda happily and both of
the girls left.

Chris and Johnny were excited. Chris saw that Johnny was blushing and started to smile.

“So you like that weird goth chick huh?”

“Uhh no?” Lied Johnny

“it’s alright Johnny you are a man and are going to be popular if you attend this party,” Said Chris. 

Derrick came to the store and also mentioned to Chris that he was invited to the party. 

Johnny took that being popular advice to go straight to the bathroom, and he started to wash his face. He then remembered the creepy book that he hiding the ceiling and thought that maybe if he brought it, he would impress the goth girl. He grabbed his bag and grabbed the book. 

After their shift was over, the boys excitedly ran to Amanda’s house. The party was packed, and it had food, decorations and music.

“Hey, I’m glad you came!.” Said Amanda.
She showed them food, drinks and the pool.
The boys rush immediately to get some beer. Johnny grabbed the bottle 

"Johnny, take a sip!" Said Derrick

Johnny took a sip and was grossed out, but he didn't spit it out. He took another sip to impress Chris and Derrick

“Wohoooooo! You are awesome, Johnny!" Howled  Derrick

”Thanks?"Johnny smiles awkwardly.

Johnny saw Nicole and started to blush again. Derrick saw it and started to push him toward the girl. 

“Chris and I are getting some more beer." Said Derrick, and he walked away.

Johnny awkwardly stood next to Nicole.

"So... you goth?"Johnny asked the obvious question awkwardly.

“Yeah..” said Nichole 

“So, what do you think of the party?” Asked Johnny

“It’s lame…”answered Nichole

“Yeah." Said Johnny quietly

Another goth group came to Nichole. It was her friends 

“Hey. This party stinks. Do you want to leave? Said the other  goth girl

“Yeah. So, Johnny, do you want to come with us? Asked Nichole

“Sure!" Said Johnny

They both went to her room and talked about how life stinks, then Johnny suddenly wanted to impress her by pulling out the strange book

“Woah! What is this? This is cool, Johnny." said the random
goth guy

"Yeah, I found it in an antique store and wanted to check it out." lied  Johnny

Nichole started to flip pages to look at the book. 

“We should try some spells!" Nichole said

“Wait what? No." Said a Johnny, freaking out

"Oh, come on, it sounds pretty cool! You are pretty cool, too, Johnny." Said Nichole

“Hey, let's go to the cemetery and try the  spells there instead of here.”  Said the goth girl.

Johnny didn't want to say no, since he did want to impress Nicole. 

"Yeah, let's go!" Said Johnny

The goth group and Johnny walked toward the creepy cemetery that was a mile away from her house. They climbed through the gates, and they all started walking in the old, rugged cemetery. The goth guy was flipping through the pages and found the one that he liked. It was a drawing of a stone with trees twisted forming an arch. He looked for something similar and found an unknown damaged grave stone that was labeled 1870 with two trees between it. 


"Enter the world of the dead"  it said, 

“Listen to the whispering breeze from the twisted trees. 

They lead to a stone that hides a forgotten throne

Where there is door that opens a pastime of yore.”

Well I guess with this chant we can summon some ghosts and let them through to the living." Said the goth guy .

The  group were setting up candles, crystals and pens and paper around the book. 

Johnny was nervious since it was super dark and he wasn't comfortable to sit above to a buried corpse, but he still sat down quietly. 

Everyone started to chant the strange poem loudly, but Johnny remained quiet and still. Nothing happened, of course. 

"Wait it might not work because we must draw blood into the book to gain magic. It said it was the introduction page."Said Nichole

Nichole pulled out a needle, and each of the group members poked the tips of their fingers and dripped blood on the page. 

Johnny regretted joining the group immediately. But he didn't wait to be called a cowardly loser by his crush when he entered high school. He agreed and drew blood on his finger. 

Everyone started to chant again and went quiet. Nothing happened again.
The group was disappointed except Johnny. He had a sigh of relief that nothing had happened. 

"We might doing it wrong, I'm sure of it." Said Nichole. "Well let's just play with an ouiji board then."

They played the ouiji board and other ritual games and were ready to go home. 

"Hey Johnny. I had a great time. The book is very interesting. Do you mind that I can borrow it? Asked Nichole 

"Sure." said Johnny and handed her the book

"Thanks Johnny. I promise I will give it back in a few days." Said Nichole

"No problem. " Said Johnny

The group said goodbye and went their separate ways. Johnny was glad it was all over and never wanted to do that again. He cannot handle horror or the paranormal, even if it’s not real. 

Meanwhile, Derrick and Chris were having the time of their lives; they were juggling beer and dancing to the music.
Chris took off his shirt, started howling and jumped into the pool and Derrick joining him.
Later,  Derrick and Chris were playing spin the bottle with other girls and guys. Chris had spun the bottle, and it had reached Amanda. He and Amanda went to the closet. Just when they are about to make out, they suddenly hear yelling. It was Derrick’s Dad. Derrick's dad is a respected Pastor in the small town, and everyone stopped and scattered away from the party, so the pastor wouldn't call their parents. Chris and Amanda remained quiet, and then Pastor opened the closet and told them to get out.

“Dad, Jesus is the father of alcohol; he made water into wine."Said Derrick with a drunken tone

Derrick’s dad smacked him  the back of his head 

“Ow!” Said Derrick

He then dragged both of the boys back to the car and drove to Chris house to tell his parents right away.

Johnny was already home a long time ago  after the strange cemetery scenario away, so he pretended not to know what was going on and remained quiet when his parents were lecturing Chris.
