After the constant shouting between Chris and his parents. It was decided that he will be working with his father in the sea, supervised. Chris wasn't happy, since he hates the sea and being on a boat. It makes him feel seasick, and the fishy smell doesn't make his stomach feel any better. But it has been decided, and he couldn't do anything about it.
The next morning, Johnny woke up and prepared breakfast. Chris approached him.
"So...where were you?" Whispered Chris
"I was with Nicole and her friends....we went to a cemetery, and it was a super weird experience." Said Johnny.
"No kidding." Said Chris while fixing himself toast.
"Yeah.... look, I'm sorry that you have to work with Dad." Said Johnny
"It's all good. Next month we are going back to school and it will be all over soon. " Said Chris.
" I know that you like Nicole, and she is a bit strange, but please don't wear eyeliner and dye your hair black when you guys will hang out again." Chuckled Chris
"Haha, I don't think that's my style." Said Johnny.
The boys finished up breakfast and Chris prepared to go to his new job while it was Johnny's day off. Mom has woken up and looked through the fridge.
"Can you pick up some eggs and bread for me, sweetie? We are running out now" Said Mom.
"Sure!" Said Johnny.
It was a sunny day, and Johnny decided also to take an opportunity to skateboard to the grocery store. He bought some eggs, bread and some little extra for himself, a can of orange soda. He skated a bit more, then he passed and looked through the gated cemetery. The cemetery was empty, but Johnny decided to enter it since the gates were open now.
Some of the graves still had fresh or fake flowers and other decorations.
He read some of the dates and names of the gravestones and was interested on how people back then lived. He also felt silly by thinking the cemetery was scary. It was actually peaceful to look at and brings some kind of comfort for him. So he understood why the goth gang liked them so much.
He skated toward the grave where they have done the ritual, and saw someone with old fashion clothing was standing next to the grave facing from the back.
He was wondering if anyone saw them, since the grave looked abandoned and not taken care of. Johnny stopped and looked at the distance on the strange figure.
"Maybe I should get out of here. We might disrespect one of his family member, and he probably wouldn't appreciate me coming back" Thought Johnny.
Just when Johnny was heading out, the figure was gone in an instant.
"Huh?" "Did he already left? But how did I not see him?" Asked Johnny to himself again.
He skated boarded back and didn't think about it much, he went back home and put the grocery back. Mom wasn't here and the house was all for Johnny, so he decided to watch some television.
Then suddenly there was a slow-paced knock.
*Knock knock knock*
Johnny opened the door and no one was there. He was annoyed since he assumed it was a ding ding ditch by some pranksters, so he closed the door.
He went back to watch television and there was that slow knock again.
*Knock, knock, knock*
Johnny tiptoed to see which kid was messing with him. He peeked in the peephole, and he saw the same figure from the cemetery, but the guy was still facing from the back. Johnny was freaking out since a strange man was following him home and knows where he lived now.
Johnny quietly got out from the door and headed to the kitchen quietly to try to call mom or dad to tell them the situation.
*Knock knock knock*
Johnny heard it again, and now he heard it in the back door next to the kitchen, and this time the figure was facing him. The figure had a face or a dried corpse with sunken holes with no eyes and lips were dried up that you can only see the teeth.
The corpse reached out his bony hands and started to knock on the door again.
*Knock, knock, knock*
Johnny screamed and ran toward his room and slammed the door and holding it from being opened and was gasping for air.
Johnny started to hear the knock again but this time from The hallway to his room. He then heard the corpse whispering and gasping for air like it was his last moments to be in this earth again.
“I....am....lost.... please… take me... back...” whispered and gasped the corpse behind the door.
"Leave me alone!!!!" Shouted Johnny.
He then heard keys clanking into the front door.
"Johnny?" Shouted Mom. "Johnny I heard screaming are you alright?" Asked mom and she opened his door.
Johnny was shocked and confused and took a deep breath.
"It was nothing, some kids were messing with me. " Said Johnny
"Oh… I'm sorry Johnny. Do you know who they were? I can call their parents and tell them not to bother you? Said Mom concerned.
"No!" Said Johnny. "No, I'm alright. I will just tell them myself. "
"Alright." Said Mom still concerned
Johnny started to change the subject and nervously laughed about the situation to ease the tensions, and then helped mom with dinner.
Hours later, Chris and Dad came back from work and Chris was quiet. They both went to join dinner when it was ready. Mom and Dad were talking about their whole day. Johnny tried to make a conversation with his brother, but Chris only spoke a few sentences or words.
When dinner was done, Chris went to his room and Johnny followed. Chris removed his jacket and jumped into his bed face first.
"Gosh. Today was the worst" mumbled Chris.
"I had the worst day as well. " Said Johnny
"Oh?" Asked Chris
"You know the book that we got from Grandpa or Grandma? Well, Nichole and her friends and I used it." Said Johnny worried
Chris sat up and looked at his brother in confusion and burst into laughter.
"So? How it was the worst? Smooth move to use this weird book to get with a goth girl." Said Chris
"But we used it, and now we are cursed." Said Johnny
"Johnny… you are not cursed. The dark cemetery scared you because goths are a bunch of weirdos that want to act edgy and unique from others. " Said Chris.
"No!! We accidentally summon some figure! I went back to the cemetery
in the morning, and it followed me home and started knocking and-"
"Bro, you must've dreamed it. Just forget about it. Ghosts are not real. Your imagination got the best of you. You just met a freaky chick and were into her and participate in her weird hobbies, and she freaked you out. " Interrupted Chris.
"Maybe you are right. " Said Johnny.
