It took a while for Seiko to calm down. Everybody sat down on the flowers as they enjoyed the sight of the garden in front of them.
-I’m… I’m sorry- apologized Seiko for the twentieth time. -Really, I worried you all…
-Nah, don’t worry- said Momoko without giving too much relevance. -That’s what friends do: we laugh, we cry and we fight… That’s because we are important to each other.
-Do you think… Ms. Seki will be too hard? She was… quite mad at the station and I… kicked her… It was an accident!- explained Seiko between sobs.
-I wouldn’t worry. She’s cool and cares about ya- said Aiko while giving a tissue to Seiko. -We should be worried actually… We didn’t get back to school…
-School… everybody will know I run away and...- began saying Seiko.
-Don’t worry. If you want your identity to be a secret, we won’t tell anybody- said Onpu. -And if someone says anything weird, we’ll defend you.
-Thanks… Right now I don’t… know...-muttered Seiko.
At that moment, Doremi stood up and walked away from the group. With her back pointing at them, she said:
-Seiko, we are friends. You know that, right?
The girl nodded in response to Doremi’s question.
-I’m glad to know more about you. I’m happy that we are friends. However, I think it’s unfair that I know your secret, because there are a lot of things from me that you don’t know yet- explained Doremi as she turned around to face her.
-Don’t worry about that- answered Seiko. -I just hope we can get to know each other from now on.
-And I wish to do that too- said Doremi with a smile. -Still, I want you to understand how important you are for me… and for that, I want to share one secret. This secret.
Saying that, Doremi took her magical charm out of her pocket. Seiko didn’t understand what that item was, but the others were shocked and scared at the sight of it.
-What are you doing, Doremi?- asked Hazuki. -Put that thing away!
-Yeah, you can’t tell her! She’s going to find out!- exclaimed Onpu.
-That’s the plan- said Doremi smiling.
-Don’t do that! It’s dangerous!- exclaimed Momoko in English.
-Are you a moron? If you do that, that will happen!- exclaimed Aiko.
-Girls… I know- said Doremi with a calm voice, making everybody stop their reactions. -I know the consequences but… I don’t care. Just like I know her now, I want her to know me, who I really am.
-Hey, Doremi… I don’t know what’s going on, but… you should listen to them- said Seiko nervously.
-Yeah, what she said! Listen to me!- exclaimed Aiko. -I won’t let you do dis’… by yourself!
Then, Aiko took her magical charm out too.
-What?- exclaimed Hazuki, Momoko and Onpu in unison.
-You don’t have to do this- said Doremi.
-Hey, it’s fair. I don’t wanna hide anything- said Aiko smiling.
-You two… you two are crazy!- exclaimed Momoko taking out her charm as well.
-You too?- asked Hazuki shocked. -Well… I hope you have a good explanation for my mom when this is over!
-Hazuki!- exclaimed Onpu. -I can’t believe it. How can you think of such a stupid plan and not expect me to follow it too?
Taking out their charms as well, Onpu and Hazuki put them along with their friends’. Seiko watched the scene puzzled.
-Hey, girls...- muttered Seiko in the distance.
-Sorry to keep you waiting, Seiko- said Doremi. Then, the five girls stood in line in front of her. -You see, all this happened because we have our secret as well and we can’t tell anybody about it. However, you are our friend, our dear friend, and so, it’s fair that you know our secret. So sit down and watch closely!
The girls put on their magical charms on their wrists and clapped their hands. Then, lights of different colors covered them all. Seiko watched amazed how the colors transformed her friends’ clothing slowly. When the lights were gone, the five girls wore their witch dresses and smiled.
-What is going on…?- muttered Seiko in amaze.
-Well, this is who we are!- exclaimed Doremi. -What do you think?
-You all… are… witches?- asked Seiko.
Hearing that word, the girls closed their eyes and waited for their unavoidable fate.
-That’s… that’s amazing!- exclaimed Seiko with excitement. -I can’t believe it! Magic is real? I mean, it has to be, you changed into your dresses with magic, right? And you look so cute! And… and why do you have those faces?
-Oh, no, it already started!- screamed Hazuki with her eyes closed. -I don’t want it to happen! I don’t!
-Shaddup! You’re making me nervous!- exclaimed Aiko. -We’ll have time to complain when it’s over!
-Really, what’s gotten into you all?- asked Seiko confused.
-Seiko, do we look bad right now? Be honest- said Doremi.
-Well, I think you are… cute! Your dresses are really nice. Hey, can I try your hat for a moment?- asked Seiko.
-Sure, go ahead! Wait… dresses… hat?- murmured Doremi confused.
As she opened her eyes, Doremi looked at Seiko with her big red hat on her head, spinning around happily and enjoying it. Then, she looked at her hands and her body: they were still the same.
-Hey… girls… I think nothing’s happening- said Doremi to the other witches.
Hearing that, everybody opened their eyes and checked their bodies. Seeing that there were no changes, they sighed in relief.
-Thank goodness!- exclaimed Hazuki. -I’m still the same Hazuki!
-I wouldn’t be sure yet- added Aiko. -This may be slow…
-No, when I met Witch Rika, it was instant- explained Doremi. -Like she flew around and fell and screamed and…
-DUUUUUUUMB WITCHEEEEEES!
A loud scream traveled through the air as a blur fell from the sky and punched Doremi in her head. In shock, Seiko grabbed Doremi’s hat that she still wore and watched a strange small green creature flying around in a dustpan, followed by a very tiny woman in white clothing.
-Ouch, why did you do that, Witch Rika?- asked Doremi annoyed.
-Because you all are a bunch of dumb witches and I should be punching you all!- screamed the strange creature called Witch Rika out loud. -Among all the stupid things that you’ve done so far, this goes first in the list!
-Seriously, what were you girls thinking?- asked the little woman with stern voice. -You can’t reveal your witch identity to a human. That goes against the rules!
-Wait, how did you find out, Lala?- asked Aiko.
-We perceived your Magical Stage and came here to check what was happening, but we got late because someone got lost in the flower tunnel- complained Lala.
-You don’t get it, Witch Rika! This was important! We had to tell her!- exclaimed Hazuki.
-The only important thing is turning me back into my old body, and that won’t happen if you get the curse as well!- shouted Witch Rika.
-Wait, what… curse?- asked Seiko worried.
-Well, truth is… we can’t reveal our identity as witches to any human- explained Onpu. -If a human finds out we are witches… we turn into a witch frog. That is, just like Witch Rika here.
Seiko looked at Witch Rika in shock. She had some resemblance to a frog, but she couldn’t imagine she was a witch as well. Then, she realized the meaning of Onpu’s words.
-You… you told me your secret… even knowing that you would turn into a frog?- asked Seiko with tears in her eyes. -And you did that… for me?
-Yeah- said Doremi with a smile. Then, ignoring Witch Rika, she approached Seiko. -You are important for us and we want you to know us better. And look, nothing happened! I don’t know why, but we are OK!
-You are… dumb! You are really, really dumb!- exclaimed Seiko refraining her tears as much as she could. -You all are so dumb… and I love you all!
Seiko and Doremi hugged each other. Witch Rika wanted to complain, but Lala stopped her as they took a look at the other girls. Their faces were enough to show that they were happy with the decision they made.
-Well, at least we should go to the store for now, your spell is running out!- exclaimed Witch Rika still annoyed. -Seiko, you are coming too!
Doremi and Seiko stopped hugging and Seiko returned the hat to its owner.
-Hey, the frog looks mad… Will she make me forget about the witch thing?- asked Seiko.
-Nah, she can’t do that. That’s also forbidden. There’s a lot we have to tell you- said Doremi laughing.
The whole group rode on their brooms, Seiko joining Aiko in hers, and flew away from the garden into the sky. As they got away from it, the girls saw the garden vanished in a beautiful, colorful dust.
