Luca hums, looking unimpressed as he tucks the shirt into his waistband, “The shirt fits.” He says bluntly, and Nico snorts as he takes that as a thank you.
“Why don't you talk to the crew?” He asks as the omega sits back down on the bed, hand pressed against his ribs as he holds back an obvious wince.
“Why should I? I'm leaving the ship when we dock in Vincent.” Luca grumbles, grabbing up the book that he's laid aside, “No since in getting to know the rest of the slimy fuckers on this ship.”
Nico holds his tongue when the brunette's words sting, “They're all pretty nice. And we might run into you again.”
“Hmm…” Luca doesn't even flinch as he flips the page in the book. Nico breathes in, throat tightening slightly as this unsettling worry lands on his shoulders, “I don't like people.”
Nico hums, intrigued as he leans heavily on his desk, “Why’s that?”
Luca makes a face akin to disgust as he looks at the blond, “Since when do pirates care about feelings so much? Especially one that's been considered the most ruthless apparently.” The younger man says with a tone that definitely suggests that he doesn't believe the tales he's heard about Captain Nico Lysander.
Nico huffs, feeling offended as he crosses his arms over his chest and leans back in his chair with a creak, “There's a reason why my crew works so well for those rumors to be spread there freckles.” He snaps back, ticking on the nickname that'll surely make the other man bristle.
It does just that, Luca’s shoulders stiffening as he glowers, “Don't call me freckles.”
“Don't insult me on my own ship. Especially when you’ve been sleeping in my bed.”
Luca scowls at him for a long moment before rolling his eyes and looking back down at the book, reading it silently.
Nico perks his lips, rolling his quill between his fingers as he stares at the other boy. He's not sure what it is about this guy but he can't seem to stop wondering about who the hell he is. You can't just beat the fuck out of three people twice your size then almost die in front of a random ass guy without giving some kinda details.
“Wha’s he doing?”
Nico shrugs, staring down at the boy swimming in the water. They ended up making a quick stop at Marian island because Jacob got sick. The old man just isn't steady enough to fight sickness and be at sea. Nico doesn't mind though, it's only gonna put them a day back. It could be worse.
Lana leans against him, their shoulders pushing together as she waves a bottle of booze towards the brunette floating in the saltwater, “He looks like a happy seal…” She slurs.
Nico can't help but laugh at her, looking at her with tired eyes- he's so damn exhausted from sailing all day and taking care of Jacob. The old man had so much trouble getting up to the small town here that Nico practically had to carry him the whole way. Not that he was heavy, it's just been a long day. Even Jacob was exhausted by the time they got back with the medicine and diagnosis- a common cold- and he didn't even hardly move a muscle most of the day.
“You've barely drank anything.” He sniggers at her and the olive skinned girl hums, smiling in a dopey way as her eyes close gently, snuggling into his shoulder.
“That kid ya dragged onto da ship is pretty cute, huh?”
Nico feels tingling simmer across his shoulders, neck growing warm just a little too fast as he looks at her, “What?”
“Oh c’mon-” Lana elbows him, her green, glazed eyes looking up at him, “I've seen the way yer eyes go all goo goo ‘round ‘im.” She pokes his scarred chest, “Ya wanna fuuuuck him-”
“Ancient lords Lana-” He flicks her hand away as she giggles, “I do not! I barely know him.”
Lana lowers her eyes in annoyance at him, “Yeah and you only knew the whores in those brothels for a few seconds before you had them bent over a-”
“Lana!” He snaps at her and she laughs as he shoves her off his shoulder, “Quit ya drunken twit.” He says, annoyed and flustered. His face feels warm as his best friend giggles at him, body slumping back against the sand as he scowls out at the ocean. He tries not to look at Luca, but his gaze lingers on the fully clothed boy floating in the water.
He looks so peaceful floating about in the ocean like that. Nico wonders mildly if he has any thoughts on his mind while the sun shines down on him, the gentle waves shifting his body back and forth.
“Goo goo eyes.” Lana whispers suddenly, breath gusting against his ear. Nico swats at her, glowering at the other blond.
“I'll hurt you Lana, don't test me!”
