Chapter 9: Apocalypse Edition RV and Yacht
Oct 24, 2024
The off-road RV was a modified Mercedes G-Class, boasting a 6-wheel drive. Its tires were specially designed to be explosion-proof and wear-resistant.
The vehicle was 6.5 meters long, 2.6 meters wide, and over 3 meters tall, easily fitting within the definition of a beastly machine.
The RV’s frame was built with high-grade special steel, not only providing excellent insulation but also making it bulletproof. Even the windows were equipped with bulletproof glass.
Its roof could extend upward to create a sunroom, while both sides of the vehicle featured expandable mechanisms, making the RV even more spacious when fully extended.
Equipped with solar panels capable of generating 500 watts of power, the RV also came with a 6000-watt diesel generator and a 2000-amp-hour lithium-ion battery system.
The water system was no less impressive, with 1,000 liters of fresh water, 500 liters of grey water storage, and another 500 liters for black water waste, providing plenty of capacity for extended journeys.
Inside, the RV had a double bed, an expanded living room, and a retractable hammock on the roof. It was equipped with a fully functional bathroom, shower, and kitchen, including a fridge, washing machine, air purifier, water purifier, heater, and even a microwave. It also boasted a state-of-the-art entertainment system, complete with a surround sound setup.
For the colder months, it had a diesel heater and for the warmer months, a built-in air conditioning system. Renault, reviewing the specs, couldn’t help but feel his excitement rise. The 6-wheel drive, locking differentials, and high-clearance chassis were perfect for navigating any apocalypse scenario.
This RV was undeniably a masterpiece. The only downside? It weighed a hefty 6 tons and had an enormous appetite for fuel. But for Renault, these details were merely inconveniences—he had already set his mind on owning it.
This "Apocalypse Edition" G-Class RV, named "Conqueror," started with a bidding price of 3 million yuan.
Renault was determined to win it.
“I’ll start the bid at 3.5 million yuan,” Renault announced confidently, his voice loud and clear as he challenged the room. His name echoed through the hall, followed by whispers from the crowd.
“Renault?” someone questioned. “The younger brother of Renault?”
Renault's brother, surrounded by a group of admirers, stood tall, immediately recognized by many.
As soon as people realized who was bidding, some of the other potential buyers hesitated. They knew better than to bid against Renault’s family, especially over something so extravagantly luxurious. Most weren’t willing to compete for an RV like this in a serious contest, knowing full well what kind of toy it was.
Renault’s brother, however, couldn't just let this go. His brow furrowed as he tried to keep his calm demeanor.
“3.6 million!” Renault’s brother countered, raising the stakes.
The crowd sensed the tension building between the brothers, wondering who would come out on top.
Renault smirked. “I’ll bid 4 million,” he declared without hesitation.
The room fell silent, and whispers filled the space.
“Renault is going head-to-head with his brother?” someone in the audience mused. “What’s going on between these two?”
“I heard the younger brother just inherited a massive share in their family’s company. He's definitely not hurting for cash.”
Renault’s brother felt his face grow hot as the eyes of the crowd turned to him. He hadn’t expected Renault to push the bid so high. In his mind, Renault was just supposed to be a carefree fool, buying up resources for some ridiculous survivalist fantasy. How could he have so much money?
The tension between the two escalated.
Renault’s brother clenched his jaw, frustration bubbling inside him. He’d spent a fortune to join this event, even borrowing from their Uncle Wang to secure a line of credit for 200 million yuan. He had no intention of letting Renault win this bid.
But after a moment of hesitation, his friends whispered to him to back down.
“Let it go, Brother Renault,” one of them suggested. “There’s no need to fight over an RV. We can get something custom-made later. Why waste the effort?”
“Yeah, Brother Renault,” another chimed in, “there’s no point in competing for this. We’re here for bigger things, right? Let’s focus on the yachts.”
Renault’s brother reluctantly conceded. “Fine, let him have it. We’ll win the yacht instead,” he muttered, giving a cold glance toward Renault before walking away.
Renault breathed a sigh of relief as his bid stood unchallenged. He paid for the RV immediately, arranging for it to be delivered to his estate later that day. He felt a sense of triumph as he watched his brother walk off in defeat.
The auction continued, but Renault’s interest waned until a luxury yacht came up for bid in the afternoon.
This yacht was beyond impressive—it was a sight to behold, with every feature one could imagine. The yacht was 25 meters long, spanning three floors, with every luxury amenity available on board.
Constructed with reinforced steel, the yacht was semi-submersible, meaning it could handle rough waters. It had a top-tier AI navigation system and could withstand waves up to 20 meters high, making it a formidable vessel even in extreme conditions.
The yacht had solar, wind, diesel, and battery-powered systems, ensuring that it would remain operational for long periods without external support. It was a fortress at sea.
As Renault looked over its specifications, he could feel the same excitement that had drawn him to the RV.
“I must have this yacht,” he whispered to himself.
The starting bid was 50 million yuan.
Renault’s brother, still licking his wounds from the earlier bidding war, immediately entered the fray.
“50 million!” Renault’s brother announced confidently.
Renault stood at the back of the room, calculating his funds. After buying the RV and stocking up on supplies, he still had enough left. There was no way he’d let his brother get the better of him now.
“60 million,” Renault said coolly, upping the stakes.
The crowd buzzed with anticipation, eager to see who would win the duel between brothers.
Renault’s brother felt his blood boil. He couldn’t stand it. This yacht was supposed to be his crowning achievement today. How could Renault, of all people, be trying to steal this from him too?
But before Renault’s brother could retaliate, one of his friends grabbed his arm.
“Don’t push it, Renault. It’s just a yacht. We can find another,” the friend cautioned. “He clearly has more money than you expected.”
Renault’s brother hesitated, and before he could raise the bid, Renault closed the deal with 60 million.
The crowd erupted in applause, recognizing that Renault had won yet another victory. His brother could only grit his teeth and retreat in defeat.
The apocalypse has arrived and the world is falling apart.
Humanity has valued these documents for decades. Now, it's too late. As the end approaches the world, chaos rages and survival turns into an extraordinary battle to the death.
But someone is ready.
He quietly stockpiled enough supplies to see him through the end. While others fought for food, water, and shelter, he watched from hiding in his fortress, which was stocked with everything he needed for the long journey. Will he really have enough weight when civilization finally collapses?
