Kai rolled onto his side, coughing up blood onto the pavement. He weakly stared up at Fake Kai, who hovered over him.
"You must be in a lot of pain. Don't worry, I'll make you feel better," Fake Kai declared with a wide grin. He harshly kicked his leg forward, his foot colliding into Kai's face, making him see darkness.

Kai threw his head back. His chest heaved in and out in a panic. He reached up and placed both of his palms against his face. He swallowed hard when he looked around to see the kitchen in his mother's house again.
His mother tilted her head to the side, staring at Kai in bewilderment. "What's the matter, sweetheart? You haven't touched a single drop of your food yet?" she pointed out. She reached forward, pushing his white plate toward him.
The scent of the food made Kai's stomach churn. He threw his head to the right and vomited. Everything he had in his stomach spilled to the floor in a green mess.
His mother rose up from her seat frantically and sprinted over to him. "Are you alright?" she asked, extending a shaky hand toward him. She gently rubbed the top of his head to provide him with a small amount of comfort as he threw up.
Kai placed his hands over his mouth and trembled hard. Why, why the hell did the food smell like rotting flesh? Something isn't right here at all, he thought in full-blown panic. He lightly shoved his mother's hand away from him and tumbled backward to the floor.
"Now, that wasn't very nice of you to do. After everything I've done for you," his mother stated with a cold tone as she walked toward him with a murderous look in her eyes.
"You're not my damn mother! So don't pretend that you are!" Kai barked before he sucked in a breath when she grabbed a kitchen knife and threw it at him. He moved his head to the left, causing the blade to sink into the floor next to his face.
Kai quickly rolled onto his stomach and used his legs to push himself back to his feet. He bolted through the door without any hesitation and ran down the street. Shit! Shit! What the hell is going on! he screamed inside his mind before he accidentally ran into a wall.
Kai took a step back, wincing in pain. He reached up to hold his nose. When he pulled his hand back, he shook when blood stained his skin. His lower lip trembled when something hugged him from behind like it had done before.
"You're really going to make me do this all over again? This is getting boring. I already told you what I wanted. Give me your body, and then I'll leave you alone," Fake Kai whispered into his ear with a smirk on his lips.
Kai struggled and broke out of Fake Kai's hold. He twisted his body around to face him. "Why the hell do you want my body in the first place? I don't even know where I am! All I want to do is wake up so I can see my mother again!" he screamed out with tears welling up in his eyes.
"You don't remember?" Fake Kai asked as he walked closer. "That psychopath by the name of Hayden injected you with test subject fifty-seven's blood, and your body is rejecting it pretty harshly," Fake Kai pointed out, taking another step forward.
"So, that's you then. You're that blood, and right now, I'm in some weird kind of dream," Kei stated as he clutched the side of his head before he let out a shaky breath and straightened his posture.
"You made me realize something right now. Why are we fighting when we both want the same thing, which is to make Hayden pay and break out of this faculty? So, why don't you join me instead of trying to kill me?" Kai offered, extending his hand shakily out toward Fake Kai.
A chuckle escaped Fake Kai before it turned into full-on laughter. "You're more entertaining than I thought you would be. Fine, whatever, I'll play along, but don't expect anything good out of me," Fake Kai exclaimed as he grabbed onto Kai's hand.
"I wasn't expecting anything out of you," Kai stated, closing his eyes. He turned back into the darkness and fell into its depths. A loud gasp escaped his lips as his eyes shot wide open frantically.
"I can't believe it actually worked. Even with the side effects, you still managed to survive. Color me impressed," Hayden praised while writing things on the document in his hands.
While Hayden's back was turned, Kai twisted his wrists around, causing the straps to snap off his limbs. He used his elbows to prop himself up and scoot off the bed. He walked toward Hayden with a cold look in his eyes.
The moment Hayden turned around, a pained groan escaped his lips when Kai reached into his chest, tearing out his heart in the process. Hayden collapsed to the floor with a loud thud. "Those side effects of yours really didn't do you any good, did they? Kai claimed with a wide grin before he walked over to the exit.
Kai cocked his head to the right. An annoyed frown crawled across his face when he saw a bunch of scientists blocking his path. "You really can't be serious, can you? If you don't move out of my way, you'll be joining your little friend Hayden, so what will it be?" Kai asked only for his frown to deepen when they stood their ground.
A crazed look appeared in Kai's eyes as he cracked his knuckles. "Well, I did warn you, didn't I?" he said darkly before charging forward.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Kai twisted his body around gracefully, avoiding each of the bullets that were hurdling toward him. He swung his leg, shattering the bones of the scientist's leg he managed to strike. Crazy laughter escaped his throat as he continued dodging each of their attacks.
Kai dove forward and kicked upward, knocking the gun out of the man's hand. He threw his body back into a cartwheel and used his legs to propel himself into the air. With grace, he twirled his body around and brought his leg down on a man's shoulder, breaking it instantly.
Kai let out a loud sigh as he shrugged his shoulders. "This is honestly getting pretty boring; I thought you all would put up more of a fight. Oh, well, it was fun playing with you all," Kai declared with a smug grin as he cracked his knuckles.
The pained screams of the scientists filled the room with a gloomy atmosphere. The white hallways were soon smeared with the blood of all the prey that Kai managed to claim on his way to break out of the facility. Kai didn't leave the place until he found every last scientist and made sure they all suffered the same fate.
On Kai's way out, he broke a machine, causing oil to spill all over the floor. "I guess this is where everything ends," he claimed before he threw a match. Once the oil ignited, he bolted out of the building and watched the flames from a safe distance.
Kai's eyes widened in shock. Feeling an itchy sensation in his throat, he coughed harshly into his hand before reaching up to wipe the corner of his mouth. "That was way too dramatic for my liking, but at least I'm out of that place," he mumbled to himself.
Kai stepped onto the platform that had previously lowered the limo and used it to get back to the road. Relief flooded his system when he glanced up at the night sky. "I was getting worried that I was going to be stuck there forever," he mumbled to himself as he walked down the street.
Kai shivered as a cold breeze passed by him, forcing him to shove his hands into his pocket to try to warm them up. I bet my mom will be so happy when she sees that I'm unharmed and safe at home. Maybe I'll bring her some chocolate cake tomorrow, he thought with a smile on his lips.
"That's great, and all that you get is to see your mother again. But don't forget that there is stuff that I want, and if I don't get it, there are going to be problems," Fake Kai mentioned as he walked alongside Kai.
"Don't worry, I don't think there'll ever be a problem. Whatever you want is what I want. We are sharing the same body anyways, aren't we?" Kai stated with a grin as he struggled to control his personality shifts.
A chuckle left Fake Kai's lips. "Whatever you say, but what I said still stands. If you manage to fuck something up. Someone will pay the consequences for your actions," he threatened before disappearing, leaving Kai all by himself.
