As far as I understand the concept of love, one thing that I have realized is that there is no such thing as meeting the right person at the right time. Most of the time you meet the wrong person at the right time and the right person at the wrong time, it's your willingness not to let the timing affect the relationship that turns a relationship into a love story. Often times, when most people who end up dating meet, situations will be less than ideal and that was the case for Rayan and Aliza as well after the whole debacle at the club. When they met each other again, they were at a film premier and not just any film premier but the debut film of Jiya Khanna…… Jiya Khanna now, she is an important character in this story.
"All right, all done, you look splendid, Jiya Mam", Jiya’s personal stylist who she had spent a fortune on, said to her as she got all decked up for the grand premier of her movie.
"Oh! Thank you dear you may go now", Jiya said with her classic fake smile and impeccable portrayal of fake politeness, but as soon as her stylist was out of her sight, she summoned her manager and, with a cocky grin on her face, said.
"If my pictures are not filled all over the internet by tomorrow, be a dear and fire her for me". Her boyfriend, who watched her, looked surprised but, in no way, shape or form, was shocked because that was Jiya, for you.
"Okay, click the best picture because this is going to be everywhere, so this better be good" Jiya said as she did the most questionable poses that she knew would get her all the attention she clearly craved for.
We all have these few friends who are so horrible to us that we are left wondering why we are even friends with them in the first place. Often, the thing is, you probably met them while you were kids, and they have just stuck with you since then, and as you grew older you just didn't let them go, even when they constantly made you feel horrible. You just avoid all that for your mental peace, and before you know it, you are stuck with a toxic person forever, and you are being forced to call them your friend. For Aliza, one such friend was Jiya. So, out of curtsy, Aliza was there for Jiya and for some reason Rayan was there too, he was trying to have a polite conversation with Jiya who just kept on complaining about how much of an inconvenience it was posing for paparazzi. Rayan bit down on his tongue and fought back his urge to say ‘Then you probably shouldn’t have invited them Jiya’.
Aliza decided to avoid him as she might or might not have caused his break-up with his girlfriend. She politely stepped forward and congratulated Jiya who seemed delighted to see her. Aliza thought it was probably because of the publicity Jiya was getting from Aliza being there. She knew Jiya was calculating like that from what she had seen. Jiya was the least interested in her job, but what she was good at self-promotion and she did it relentlessly.
As the night progressed, Rayan found himself standing across the room. His eyes fixed on Aliza. There was something about her that was drawing him towards her. Was it her brown eyes, her charming smile or literally her mere existence that was so attractive he would never know.
“Oh boy you look lost”. He heard a voice from behind him, and it was none other than Candace. Sometimes you try to find reasons not to be friends with someone, and sometimes you find reasons to stay friends with someone. One such friend of Rayan was Candace. Candace and Rayan met for the first time two years ago while they were cast opposite each other for a film and were currently shooting their second film together. If modern day beauty standards morphed into a person, it would look like Candace. She was everything everyone wanted a woman to be, tall, fair, skinny, with long hair, fuller lips, big brown eyes with the perfect set of long lashes and eyebrows. Well-spoken, well-behaved, well-loved with zero controversies during an almost ten-year-long career.
“What do you want Candace?” Rayan asked, a little frustrated by her presence.
“You are not seriously considering approaching her, are you?”
“I am not an expert, but even I know what a PR nightmare that is going to be in the light of current events”
“So, it’s all about the media coverage then?”
“No, it’s not just that we were at the club and just having fun and being crazy and stupid. That doesn’t mean anything. I can’t approach her and expect her to be okay with me approaching her now.”
“Oh, please you are just embarrassed to face her because she took the blame for your inevitable breakup in the eyes of the world.”
“I can’t believe I didn’t know who she was or else I wouldn’t have made such a mistake.”
“And I can’t believe you made this whole mess completely sober despite being at a club” Candance was enjoying making fun of him a bit too much.
“Hey, you have made worst mistakes sober”
“Yes, but none of those ended up becoming page three news.”
“I hate you”
“I hate you too.”
