In the world, there were many different professions, but all were geared toward the cessation of the encropping of monsters from all sides. Humanity had been reduced to only a third of its size and it's populace had been isolated into a few metropolises that spotted the globe, but with the discovery of mana humanity had begun to fight back, steadily pushing its borders against the previously unstoppable tide of attacks.
Many believed that humanity would never be free of monster incursions, due to the curious nature of their creation. When mana reach a certain threshold in a living body, it transforms the body into that of a mindless beast. Not even humanity was exempt from this, and so the only weapon humanity possessed to stop the monsters was also expediting the process of their creation.
So when Aisen sat the intruder at her dinner table she let her eyes drift over him from beneath her veiled burqa. Through the loosely hanging shirt she could detect slight scaling across the bulging muscles and beneath curly locks that were being tossed around in his bodies shivering she noticed two small protrusions that might have been the beginning of horns.
“Either a newbie, or someone with superior mana manipulation then.”. She thought to herself. “Good, he'll make a decent test subject.”
She left the visitor and slipped behind a false wall. There were the sounds of rummaging and more than a few crashes, but it wasn't long before Aisen returned with what looked like a mini megaphone. She placed it in his hand, the conical projector turned toward his head, and squeezed his hand around the grip. It quietly whirled to life, with only a soft chiming to denote that it was doing anything at all.
Aisen knew that the chimes meant the artifact had begun charging up using the ambient mana exuded from the man's body. She also knew that she had about ten seconds to make some space between her and the intruder before the artifact she had created was fully charged, so she stepped over to her desk on the other side of the room and grabbed a writing pad and stencil. She settled in leaning against the wooden frame, her eyes fixated on the giant man in the small chair

The artifact activated. Drawing in air from what should have been the microphone, the speaker shoot out a tumultuous typhon of wind that left unwelcomed visitor completely dry from the waist up but wth his curly locks pointed straight as an arrow behind his head.
“drying function excessive. Lower mana accumulation and output.” Aisen wrote in her notebook. She then went back behind the illusory wall and after a fair bit of noisy hunting brought out a stunted candle and placed it in the hands of the stunned traveler replacing the megaphone. Resuming her position far away from her stupefied test subject, she watched, pen at the ready.

The candle exploded in a conflagration of fire that reached as high as the ceiling she denoted double quotation marks as if to say, “ditto”. Instead of observing the experiment further she ran to the back and grabbed a large vial filled with red liquid. The fire was instantly put out and the burns, and also cuts from objects thrown flying by the sudden outburst of wind, were instantly healed. In fact the flush of fever quickly withdrew from the visitor’s marble smooth skin and he looked healthier than even when she had first seen him at her door.
Orc blood healing potions truly worked wonders.
The guest blinked twice still in a stunned state then turn his head to look at her with his arms frozen, creating a horror esque scene.
“Am I… am I being attack?” He asked in a truly confused manner.
*A bit shorter episode this week but Aisen is so cute! Can't wait to introduce some of the other professions!

Now pulled into a world of courtly intrigue and dastardly plots to exploit the failing human race for singular gain, will Titanias be able to use his new found power to save his destitute house and stop the monster apocalypse?
