"Ro, we could use some help over here!" Rho shouted at her brother. She had her hands full trying to remove the stones that blocked her path. "Ro!"

"Kinda busy sis!" He ducked out of the way of the golem. Sprinting to the side, he aimed his dagger at it's exposed back. The weapon harmlessly bounced off.

Behind her Rho could hear the sounds of battle. Their teammates were blocking the path, preventing more golems from entering the valley. How long they'd hold out for, Rho didn't know. Her focus was unblocking their path so they could complete the mission. At this rate, they might not be able to close the rift.

"Why am I doing this instead of Elise?" Rho asked, no one in pellicular.

"Oh I don't know, maybe because you suggested it?" Ro hopped onto a boulder, away from the golem.

"Shut it, Ro." Rho let out an exasperated breath. "We need to retreat."

Soren flew pass Rho to collide with the stone wall. His body made a cater, the visual a testament to the strength of the impact.

"Rho, update?" Pilling himself off the wall, his stance as wibbly. The rapier blade went into the ground to support his weight.

Rho walked over and shook her had, "They won't budge. We need to find another way another. around."

Soren shook his head, "It took us two days to find this entrance. We don't have time to find another."

"We'll have to retreat for now, there's no other choice." Rho tun turned to the fight. "If only the princess hadn't used up most of her magic, we'd be able to escape."

Further down the valley, Ro had ds destroyed the golems core for the one he fought. He moved to join Elise and Linnea. The two weren't frontline I fighters and had a difficult time against the golems. Elise surrounded them with a barrier, while Linnea gathered what little magic/mana she had left to cast a spell.

"Welp, guess we're not getting out the easy way." Rho gripped her flute. "The next time we come into a Rift, Linnea's not allowed to cast any spells unless absolutely necessary."

Rho brought the instrument to her lips and began to play.
