A gunshot turns the execution square into chaos.
With the Guard closing in, Steiner makes an unexpected choice and leads Allura and Allora into the slums. There, a grieving blacksmith confronts him with an accusation the Guard can no longer easily dismiss: his daughter vanished just outside Khaltorsweg’s heavily guarded walls.
The pieces refuse to fit so Steiner must decide whether to follow the law or find out what the Guard has been missing.
